I love that you’re not counting and that our pace can be different. Every other labor breathing video I’ve seen wants you to count and my breath never naturally syncs so I feel like I’m hyperventilating and not breathing when I need it. This is much easier
YES, I totally agree that counting makes it so much harder. I hope you find some other videos on the channel helpful too. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I love that you point out that Lamaze breathing isn't a scripted thing! It's an awareness of breath to incorporate into all daily life, especially labor!
Newbie here! So glad my doula recommended your videos. I’m at week 30 and it seems like all the birthing classes before my due date are all booked up! I was panicking til I started watching your videos. Thank you fellow Seattleite!
Welcome to the channel! I'm glad you are here. If you like the videos, I am sure you would love the online class that I offer. (here is a coupon code for 20% off: SEATTLE) And the link is birthtoolbox.com/ondemandclass
I've been trying the hypnobirthing breathing techniques and have not been successful in mastering them. This lamaze breathing seems simple enough and feels very natural to me. Thank you!
Hi Alice! I love your lake background... perfect for this video! My daughter just turned 6 months over the weekend :) time flies!! This is very similar to the hypnobirthing breathing that I used in my unmedicated labor with her. I love that you always have your breath and can use it anywhere! Hope you're doing well!!
Every other method was so hard for me to follow as remember, the counting, the sounds ...i couldn’t do it. This was simple and easy to remember. The water in the back also stuck with me as I closed my eyes ! thank you !!!
I have done yoga since 18 years old; this is a basic technique in all yoga practises - so highly recommend to do yoga before and during pregnancy ; but ideally before so it becomes instinct rather than conscious breathing
Hi Alice, I've been watching ur videos. Is this breathing technique good for when ur 8-10cm or wld i need to breathe at a faster pace since the contractions wld be closer. Last delivery i took epidural at 8cm cuz i was tensing & forgot how to breathe. Am 40 weeks on Thursdays 10th.
Great question Kimmy! This technique can definitely be used for closer contractions as well. However, a faster pace could work too. If you have the ability to get into water (tub or shower) when the contractions are super close, I highly recommend adding that to your coping techniques. I'm excited for you! Just remember that each birth is different and YOU GOT THIS!!!
I also have a fear of driving over bridges. I’m not a great swimmer and I fear not being able to get myself and kids safely out of the car if we ever went over.
I think doing Lamaze alone isn’t helpful; doing it as part of a yoga or Pilates class makes it more active and better ladies do it while stretching or while doing gentle yoga
Let me know if you saw the creature that snuck into the video???

Wonderful! It is super simple and because of that it’s SO EASY. This makes it perfect to me. You don’t have to think too hard about it. ❤️
@@birthtoolbox Yess! And I don't have to worry about all that counting and skipping breaths trying to keep up lol 😅
That's right! We love easy!
I feel the same-this is simple. Thank you ❤❤

We disagree
I have 3 kids and I am pregnant again. I want to say that breathing helped me alot at my previous birth.
Hooray!!
Super helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
I am a boy so don’t have a baby inside but still like this video!!
Breathing really is the most important tool in an unmedicated birth!
It is critical, isn't it.
Is this a breathing technique to use while pushing? Or perhaps to stay calm?
This is the breathing technique that is great in labor. When you feel contractions this is a very good technique to use. Great question!

I love it!
Am 32week pregnant I getting braxton hit contractions pain
Yes, Braxton Hicks can be quite intense. It’s a chance to practice your breathing! ❤️
I share the same fear😬

We disagree on this.
Lamaze breathing can be used in all scenarios. It can be used when someone is giving birth by caesarean.
