  • Don't do this during contractions or labor will slow down. These 5 specific actions should be avoided during contractions to give your body a chance to easily open the cervix. Being loose and relaxed (as much as possible) during the contractions will allow for the most progress to be made on the opening of the cervix.

      @@birthtoolbox yes! I had an 11 lb baby & didn't tare! & when I got to my midwife I was dilated 8cm & i said "are you sure?" I was so amazed bc It did not hurt!! I kept just thanking God for every surge & focused on relaxing, & keeping my whole body loose & breathing & saying "down" and "open". I also had been taking 'gentle birth' & listening to hypnobirthing videos by bridget teyler. & videos by care about little ones... All the tips & truth help!

    I've done this 7 times and about to do it again next week. Ive tried alllllll of these things because i truly trust that ladies like you know what you're talking about. However my labours go too fast no matter what i do and sometimes you just have to do certain things in the moment.

    I've had contractions start twice this pregnancy, at 37 weeks and at 39 weeks. Both times I decided to go to sleep and by the time I awoke they had stopped completely. I recommend NOT sleeping for mothers who want to keep contractions going. Stay on your feet.

    • @birthtoolbox
      @birthtoolbox  9 месяцев назад +12

      That sounds frustrating, but I’m sticking to my experience and training with this and respectfully disagreeing. If labor is real, it won’t stop because you fall asleep. It is common that people experience times of contractions that aren’t real labor and it stops.

    • @Mandaxx25
      @Mandaxx25 8 месяцев назад +2

    I. Always. Clench. My. Butt. when talking about NOT clenching your butt. LOL I can even catch myself doing it when supporting people in labor! A trick I learned to help me release my butt is to wiggle my toes.

    • @birthtoolbox

      Just wait for the contraction to be over and urinate during the rest time between contractions.

    Is tens machine good to use if we should keep our mucles relaxed?

    • @birthtoolbox
      @birthtoolbox  10 месяцев назад

      Yes, I think you could still be loose and relaxed with a tens machine on. But, I would only use the Tens if you had back labor.
