I love my dining table under my structure. Living in the tropics we get heavy rain as well as extreme heat during the day. The structure allows us to enjoy the outdoors in all weather.
I totally understand. Others have said something similar... I do agree that with those conditions enjoy the cover with Dinning or any other way.... My focus is on enjoying the space with those u care about and it sounds like u have that very much "covered" 😉. Thank u for watching and for commenting
I was pretty skeptical about this video at first, it’s so easy to Monday morning quarterback on anything. However there are some pretty good tips throughout this video and I found it to be very informative and helpful. I like the idea of moving away from the house and creating destinations as well as not limiting a covered structure to one thing like hot tub or table.
The reason the dinning area is under the gazebo is because of mosquito’s. I keep seeing these designs and none are functional. I spray the yard but still from May to end of July there are just too many bugs to eat in an unscreened area.
I just started watching! I’m an interior designer but my mom was a master gardener and I have a black thumb! Interiors and 3-D are my strengths, but I’m honestly so intimidated thinking about going outside, especially thinking about plants!!! We bought a mid-century house and the large backyard has so many Different things we’ve inherited. It’s got so much potential, and we want to use it, but it’s pretty overwhelming looking at what’s there and how to make something cohesive that will work for us. I know I can come up with a good plan, but I am doing lots of research. Your videos have helped a lot. I have already measured and drawn out the yard, now we need to discuss as a family what we want, (I have a history of just doing what I want 😂 as a designer- my poor husband is in tech but started in graphic design!) I will focus on creating rooms, and then work up the courage to think about plants (I can hopefully not kill)! I’m in South Seattle, WA, lots of rain.
Hi Marianne, you are on the right track. I think you will Design an amazing Backyard Living Space. I would be happy to have a 1 on 1 meeting at the end of your design process just to make sure you have it all right. That way you can move forward with total confidence that you are not missing anything. I am in Portland Or so I can relate to the rain :) . Have the best weekend.
I literally use the Sims 4 for PC. Base game is free, and you can use it to build basics for a 3D walk-through if you're confident to do it on your own. Takes some getting used to, but once you figure out how to build in game, it can boost your confidence in DIY for home and land. You can even add little people to it, or mods for items not usually in game. Good luck all, and thank you for the video. ❤
I need help. Long Island New York. We had a paver patio installed last year but we missed the mark. Our hot tub is set to be delivered early June. I’d like to add a detachment structure for shade but don’t want to make any more mistakes. I think the 1 on 1 meeting can be helpful.
Hi Jarrett, YES for sure. Get the 1 on 1 meeting. I will make sure everything is correct.... I am SO DONE with people having to redo things. I promise this 1 on 1 time will be worth it (probably at least 10 fold). 1 on 1 with Micah (me) www.backyardlivingguyde.com/coaching . I hope it sounds like a good plan for u moving forward. Have a nice night.
0:57 is a good example for a semi-green hardscape, to use for party, BBQ, garden office, if lawn is too stressed by such usage. Much better than tiles, needs no cleaning and washing, only occassional mowing/trimming of vegetation. Otherwise, here's way too much stuff that doesn't belong in a garden (TV!). Keep indoors what belongs indoors, keep garden items mobile, so you can place them elsewhere if you find one place inappropriate. A garden isn't designed once and for all, but grows. Plants, obviously, but also usage and garten utitilies. Call it "agile garden development" like with software, where "agile development" replaced failure-prone, entirely pre-engineered projects, which left no space for later changes.
Been watching your videos for years. Finally just signed up for an appointment. Really enjoy the content and hope you guys can help make my yard great.
Stay away from bad garden designs, which aim on cramming lots of building, appliances, indoor features into open space. It not only destroys nature, with hardscapes, building, plastic carpet lawns, it also bloats spending for questionable benefits. The good old mobile BBQ, garden furniture, inflatable pool had the same benefits, at a fraction of the cost. I don't need to keep up with anybody to enjoy my garden.
Here in Colorado. I bought a home with a first generation composite deck (that needs to be upgraded/updated due to waves in the decking from various joist seemingly still settling), that overlooks a small koi pond as the house is situated on hill. I'm considering to take the decking out beside where the outdoor kitchen and fireplace are placed and go with concrete and reinstall the pergola 10x20. Should I stay with decking or concrete?
I'll be there this Year. Congratulations on the new house. Would a quick zoom meeting get u started or is it a blank slate where a 3D design would be best? Thanks Cynthia hope to help u out this season
Hi Ben, I would love to visit. It would be a good idea to start with the 3D Design. Does that sound like a good start for you? www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
Great tips and advice - thank you, Micah! I was just a little surprised by your advice to put a dining table outside a backyard structure...We live in a 100F+ California summer zone, and, honestly, there is NO dining without a solid shade. Actually, it is really quite hard to enjoy your backyard in such a heat, anyways. Q: What would be your advice for a backyard enjoyment design for such extreme heat? Thanks!
Probably use the structure for a lounge area and put the dining area outside with a big umbrella! 😊 but honestly if you like your dining area inside a structure, go for it! I’ve seen a lot of structures with a dining area in it and it looked absolutely gorgeous! If you like it and it makes you have dinners there more often because of it, you should leave it like that.
I would love to consult and get 3d design. I know I have a Lot of mistakes, Like a hot tub under a gazebo. at this point I can’t move it but I want to add an outdoor kitchen to my space and I’m debating on if I should add another gazebo to my backyard. so having a one on one would be great.
I just found you! I need to watch your videos over and over and over until it sinks in, ( says the one with the gazebo over the hot tub) I'm so impressed with your knowledge and advice! Finally! someone that goes beyond which fertilizer to use. (At least with that if you get it wrong you can still easily correct it, unlike design). I'm in the Greater Toronto area. I doubt you're coming up this way, but hey keep making those videos.
Hi Lynn, I can totally help and I would love to fly to Toronto. In fact I had two separate Zoom meetings today with people from Toronto (u might being seeing them soon on a RUclips video). Let me know how I can help? 1 on 1 or 3D Design? Happy to help in any way possible. Thank u for watching. I hope we can work together.... I would truly LOVE to visit Toronto.

I just got 13 pine trees cut down in my yard to get rid of the maintenance but now I have all this space that had so much potential. I have the perfect yard for destinations but it has so many boulders and obstacles, I don’t know where to start. I live in Spokane Washington. Please help me! 😊
I need help , we are in the middle of choosing what we want. We are in Houston TX. This video really spoke to me and I just shared it with my husband. We want it to be attached it I also want a living space outside. Like you said I had the old mind sit to have everything all close together but not sure how to space it out.
Hi Angela, I want to help. Please either have a quick call with me or let me do a Design for u. Please email me at Micah@paradiserestored.com if u are interested. Its totally no obligation.
Thank you for all of the tips! We have a backyard space that’s long and narrow with an L shape. I’m thinking about joining your new course to find out how to DIY our backyard layout. We love taking on projects and seeing the results of our hard work. Does the course offer the 3D design step by step for DIY’rs? Thank you!
Love love your channel Micah! Considering moving from Beaverton to Tennessee or Texas next year and getting future design ideas for backyard outdoor living! I don’t want the be one who makes mistakes but want to do it right the first time!
Hi Sharleen, thank you so much for this comment. I am definitely here for you wherever you move. Please remember us as great Backyard Designers no matter where u live 🤪. Have a great day.
I really need help with my backyard. First time home buyer and have NO IDEA what to do with my plain outdoor space. It’s a nice sized pie shaped lot facing a park (not lots of privacy though). I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and we have around 5-6 months of cold weather but I see lots of potential to enjoy the outdoors even though it’s kind of cold outside. I would LOVE your ideas and inputs on what to do, please!!
It would be n honor to help. We have done many Designs in Canada. I’m would LOVE to fly there this Spring or Summer to show show off your space. Let me know if that works? 3d design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
I'm in Dunedin, FL and I'm struggling with a huge backyard (a lot and a half) and a small 1930's house and over-inflated housing values. How to build the oasis I want on a budget that, of course has all the elements I want, can possibly be built in phases to stay on budget, and then of course where to spend money and where to save -- what items should you invest in and what should you bargain shop or repurpose instead to keep costs low? Do you create the oasis and then the budget or state the budget and then build the oasis? The struggle is real (and yes, I've already wasted money last spring and it was great for a season but it's back to the drawing board. Ugh.
Great question - I have found that it’s best to create the dream master plan. I know this may seem counterintuitive, but it’s best to design the complete space with the dream vision - after u complete the dream master plan you will have a place to start to implement in phases. The nice thing is that when u have the master plan you can make material selection decisions that will keep the budget where needed but not ruin the integrity of the overall design. Schedule a free appointment with me and I’ll help out : 3d design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
What to do with your space under a deck? We’re on a sloped lot. Main floor walks out to the deck area. Walkout basement walks out to empty space under the deck. Thanks in advance.
Great & Informative. We just bought a house on .27 acres & are having a hard time figuring out the yard space & privacy, all the while wanting an amazing outdoor space! Yes we need help in our design & live in Bastrop Tx near Austin Tx. Thank you in advance! I will be reviewing your links soon too!
We need help - we're located in Lexington, KY. We've got a very piecemeal outdoor layout with an addition and deck that were both poorly planned. The deck had a tree growing up through it that we recently had removed, and the deck itself is not very well laid out, and just keeps collecting clutter. We never actually use it for enjoying the outside. The addition we love on the interior (and are not removing) but then it creates a very odd division of space in the backyard that needs more flow.
Hello, I'm so glad I found your channel. I have a flat backyard and I don't have a clue what to do with it. I have recently had a couple of large pine trees cut to open up the space. Now I have no clue. "I need help." Thanks for sharing!🥰❤
I'm very happy to help Marcella. Do either of these sound like a good fit for you? 3d design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process 1 on 1 with Micah (me) www.backyardlivingguyde.com/coaching
Hello, In central Kentucky and 3 yrs. homeowner and bought my home with a blank slate of no landscaping which I was glad so I had no work to remove someone else mistakes. So I love to do landscaping design but I am not an expert as yourself and need help to make my imagination come to life to enjoy.
Hey M! It’s B! Empty nesters here- just moved into a home we’re remodeling that’s on 5+ acres in Fort Worth, Texas. I’m a city girl, and have no clue where to start. Husband is pure country and is happy on a tractor and a horse. :) (He’s happy with just about anything I do, as long as I don’t tear up his front pasture or mess with his barn lol) SO- I’ve been thinking about tons of ideas on our home remodel, but each night when we sit out on the deck, my hubby and I only talk about the vast space around our home and how much we love being outside. So now I’m rethinking where I want to spend our money, and what is most important with regard to the home vs outdoors… I’m a newby to your channel but I appreciated your genuineness and valued your idea of a 3D living space design vs just a 2D landscaping approach. I’d be very interested in getting your thoughts on a design for our property.
Please let me Design your space! It sounds like a dream canvas to prepare the perfect space for u and your hubby and your future cowboy/city girl kiddos. Here is our process www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process . I hope it works for u. Email me if u have any questions about how to get started Micah@paradiserestored.com
I need help. My backyard is long. I want privacy but do not know how to separate yard. I am in Louisiana. I wrote this before you said you could help. I am so excited.
Lol. I am totally here to help you Sheila. Does a 1 on 1 meeting sound good or should we go right into the 3D Design? Thank you again. I am looking forward to working with you www.backyardlivingguyde.com/coaching www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
Yep - we can meet for free and if u decide to move forward with the 3D Design that is the only thing we would charge for. I can provide a set price once i see your property. Here is the link www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
Hi!! I junt get a house and i want to do some things in my back yard wich has a pool and a small pregola aready how u can help me to add somethings and make it look beutiful? Thank you soo much man nice videos
Congratulations on your new home. I WANT TO HELP - 3d design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process 1 on 1 with Micah (me) www.backyardlivingguyde.com/coaching Hopefully one of these ways works for u?
Recently had work done in the backyard. We had a 2-tiered deck that needed some love. So we had the upper level re-surfaced in trex, and the lower level demoed/replaced with a cobblestone stamped patio in the same footprint. I can see things I want but can’t seem to put out all together to go from there.
Be careful Kyle. I meet with people everyday and help them navigate through exactly what your facing. Many people wait and it’s to late. Just schedule a meeting with me or have us do the Design. I promise it will save u money in the end. 3d design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process 1 on 1 with Micah (me) www.backyardlivingguyde.com/coaching
This is an amazing video that I didn't known I needed to see. I came on looking for privacy shades for my porch and learned a lot more from you. I fell in love with the space design at 6:45 is there a video on that? If not is there anywhere I can see more pictures of it?
Hi, thanks for your ideas. We need a design but know it will be expensive and are giving ourselves some time to save up....maybe a year. Should we wait or do you think we can start with ideas at this time. We are in Menifee, CA. Thanks, again.
Hi Micah, Great job on videos and guide on Do and Don’ts! Very important. We are in SD. Its not a big yard, but has potential to do a few things. Plus, we have a big hill. What is the best way to connect with you about the design and what would you need from us (pictures, video)? And how much 3D design would cost? Thank you. Max
May you give me an estimate on how much I would have to save to redue my front and backyard. I'm not ready, but it will redue both eventually. Salem, OR.
@@BackyardDesignGuy Hi, thank you for responding. I also inboxed you on FB. I have a house in Florida and would like to do my patio. I have looked at some other companies but your designs are outstanding! Can we do a consultation? Thank you!
Good day. I just came across your channel, and it is awesome and very informative. I just bought a house, and the backyard is a blank canvas. Roughly 20x60ft. I have many ideas but don't know what would be best, practical, and affordable. Your builds look amazing and I would appreciate some assistance/advice. My budget is in flux. Your builds also look super expensive. Is there a ballpark cost for a medium-sized outdoor space? am in Port Orchard, WA, just outside Seattle. Thank you, and have a nice day.
If you book a free zoom meeting I could take a look and let u know what the cost would be - 3d design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process. I am in Oregon so I have a clear understanding of the NW.
We are near Duncan Oklahoma We bought a beautiful place and love being outside. The back yard is huge and we are trying to figure out how to make the space(s) flow.
Hi Micha: I need help 😆. We live in Fairburn, GA. I got a sloping hillside in my yard and a large french drain going around the back of the property. Just need to know what I can do. We already have a large covered deck on the home.
Hi Micah, I am going to need some help. I am almost done doing a complete remodel inside my house and I am getting ready to work on the outside. I currently have an above ground pool and it is on a corner lot. I removed lots of nasty trees and pretty much have a good blank slate to work with. Could you help me out? -Brad from Detroit metro area
do you have any 2D designs available for budget friendly available? I do appreciate the 1on 1 meetings. Would that be helpful in creating a new backyard. Right now our backyard is pretty much empty. We even need to add a wall as one side has chicken wire fencing.
Hello Micah, I also stumble across your video Stop with the mistakes. Decorating could be overwhelming at times, looking at the all the over clutter decorations. Your video made since to my Eye 👁 Lens. I see it’s not too late ⏰. You going to be in ATX in July? Is it Possible to get added to the list? Thanks Madison
Heck YES! let's do a zoom meeting www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process . hope it works out. Thank u for watching.... Looking forward to your transformation
Definitely need help. Chelsea Quebec Canada. We are starting to think about how we want to change our outdoor area from what we have now. I love being and cooking outside, but our area is no longer inviting at all. I'm considering a zoom meeting w design
I live in Clearwater Florida. The mosquitos are a big problem. I have about 50 bites all over my body at any given time. The other problem is my dog, a 70 pound Rhodesian ridgeback that loves to dig. The yard is about 4000 sq ft. I have an above ground pool because I can’t afford an in ground. I bought this house one year ago. A pool is a necessity here. How much do you charge for a yard design?
Hi Donna, for whatever reason the mosquitos love to eat me too. I would love to help design your space. Here is my design process with prices www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
We need help...oh boy. Northeast of Boston Massachusetts. At least with design because we have to go in stages. The project in the next couple of months is the indoor kitchen. So maybe a stage of the backyard the summer. Something we can build upon. We replaced one of the decks a few years ago. It's the space between the house and the barn
Hi Micah. I just started construction on my yard yesterday. I am in South Jersey but by time you make it here my project will be completed. How can you help me now?
Well, if questions come up feel free to schedule a 1 on 1 meeting with me. It may also be helpful for me to double check that you are putting things in the correct spot. Hope this helps Keisha. Have a wonderful day

Hi Micah! I’m from Windsor Ontario Canada. We have recently had to remove an old deck after our house was sprayed by a skunk. We now have a huge unusable area in our backyard. My son used to go through the patio doors to get to our little above ground pool but I’m not even sure we can set that up this year. I love your videos. They are very inspiring and I’m learning a lot. Thanks for reading!
Hi Julia, thank you so much for watching and commenting. I am so sorry about the Skunk incident. I would really like to help you with you space. I will be putting a call out to people in Cold Climates soon as I would love to help people design amazing spaces that they can use 4 seasons in colder climates. Hey, I’m in North Carolina. I am wanting to turn our small backyard into a beautiful living space that has to have privacy. I watch your videos all the time and get overwhelmed when I have to know where everything should be placed. Oh and I’m working on a budget. I have retired working in the school system and just want a nice functional back yard…Thanks!
Hi Micah, I’ve really enjoyed your videos and hope you can offer some direction. You’re correct in that every Landscape Designer we’ve had out here has only discussed plant design with vague references to patio over here or place a table over there. We live on top of a hill and the backyard is just a deck and is very windy. Umbrellas and chairs blow around plus the gas BBQ doesn’t work in such high winds. So, our plan is to utilize the front yard as our primary outdoor living space. We live on a private single lane road so there’s very little traffic. However, my dilemma is how do we make the front yard look appealing and inviting while not obstructing views from inside our home. We live in Southern California in Temecula CA. Thanks for your help!
You are in Beaverton? Wow! I am in Hillsboro and need help. Small backyard. Have a very nice flagstone patio and Gazebo to start, but everything else is wide-open for design options. Need it functional, budget-friendly, and far more private. Help?
I'm in Big Bear, California and I have a 10,060 sq ft back yard with dirt and rocks a blank canvas. Would love to have your help in designing the back yard. Thank you! Marie

Hi,I need help.I moved into this house 2 years ago now,We fixed quite a bit of the house, but then my husband passed away.I haven’t really done anything with the yard, except I bought a small fire pit.I don’t have any big plans for the yard because I cannot afford that but I would like your advice on where to have my fire pit, water fountain ,and maybe eventually a small deck, hot tub or covered space.I can only do a little each year but I would like a plan for this.I so need your advice because I just can’t picture how things would look or flow.Thank you.
Hi Grace, thank u for reaching out. I hate to hear about the loss of your husband. I would like to help in anyway possible. I look forward for meeting u and designing your perfect backyard. Have a wonderful weekend
What's the (Total) cost to fly you out to Tampa, FL. to do a in person back yard design? I'm of the impression it's money well spent. But need that info first.

I’m is Northridge California and I need to a low cost design for my backyard. The kitchen remodel was an expensive nightmare going over two years now. Backyard: Half for pets and children with artificial turf with perimeter smooth gravel so pets and children won’t hurt themselves if they run or all in that area. Other half for table and seating with an umbrella, non-fixed fireplace with movable seating. Two areas? There’s a slight slope since these homes were originally double terraced but have since broken down way before I moved here. Not sure it that’s even an issue other than it needs to be leveled for the hard areas. Maybe a pressure treated wood or interlock pavers with a cap that can double as seating and can help make that area level..? I will be adding raised garden beds probably in the gravel perimeter if that works. I don’t want raised garden beds to be too close to the fences…critters and neighbors are an issue. I’m thinking 5’ wide smooth gravel around the perimeter and maybe a dry riverbed to breakup the gravel look if I can afford it. Also some type of inexpensive paver or thick large outside tile product for the hard areas that will lead from the covered porch to the outside areas. Also a walkway from porch to the left and right of the porch that both lead to gated side yards and water water spickets. The BBQ will likely stay under the covered porch. I would like to make the existing porch concrete blend in with whatever materials are used…stamped concrete or maybe a stain..? One or two outside rugs..? It needs to be very low cost but I want it to function and the seating and fire pit to be movable. There’s already a covered porch with 1951 plain concrete that I want to blend in with whatever I add.Maybe some kind of concrete stamping or staining. My taste is no clutter and kinda modern that leans towards Zen or Asian but inviting. I don’t have a lot of people over at one time so it doesn’t need to be huge. Seating and pillows, the less the better, need to be removed and stored inside because I hate bugs and spiders but they seem to love to bite me all the time. Also, I am disabled and having a bumpy surface or a surface that has gaps is an invitation for me to go to the ER. Having typed all of this out it seems impossible. Since the kitchen nightmare has happened I feel defeated and depressed. I really don’t think I’ll ever have a home that is relaxing to me and inviting, clean and tidy. All I see is STRESS and that’s the one thing the doctors tell me I have to avoid or I will never stop getting worse. I wish all the doctors could live with ME/CFS/FMS and then tell me they wouldn’t keep looking for ANYTHING to make the pain go away or even lessen…or sleep for two nights in a row and for more than two hours when sleep does come. I suppose I’m desperate. Sorry for spilling all of that to you. I don’t have a family and after being sick for over 24 years friends are few and far between. The few good friends I have we’re smart but Southern California and I should’ve followed them when they did.💔
My husband & I live in Sacramento, California. We really enjoy watching your videos. We have 2 border collies. We need help with what to make our backyard landscaping dog friendly.

Hey Micha, love all your videos, been watching for awhile. My wife and I live in Georgetown, TX (right outside of Austin) and are preparing to move to a brand new house (still in Georgetown) within the next couple months. I have been spending a lot of time thinking about how we want to design our backyard and layout it out for optimal hosting/parties but also to give us some privacy from the neighbors. I have a lot of thoughts/ideas but not really sure how to make it a reality, would love to connect and get some insight and potentially a 3D design. Thanks.

Hi i am in Dubai, I have two questions I wish your will address on what items should we splurge and what should we not. And another question my landscaper has suggested we use crazy pattern stones for my hardscape, how can I judge that the stone is a good quality stone or not?
I am currently helping another client from Dubai and I would love to visit there. I think I could help answer your questions with a quick zoom meeting. Clint the link below to schedule that. Once the project kicks off I wanna come see u in person if possible?? CANT WAIT
Just bought a house in Columbia, SC. Small yard with lots of potential. Existing "patio" slab. Need help. Moved here for the climate and want to be out to enjoy it.
HI Trudy, congratulations on the new home. I want to Design your new Small Yard Backyard Living Space. I hope we can work together. Have an amazing weekend.
Hi! I'm from Oklahoma, we deal with really strong winds, but would still like to create a backyard living area. Is there a design trick to making sure we can block some wind without destroying the structure?
Hi! Keep watching your videos and I notice you always say to make the focal point across from the sight line of the house. What if the house doesn’t have a sight line from the main living area? For example, a split level home where you can only see the backyard from the bedroom upstairs. Where should the focal point be if there is no sight line from kitchen/living/dining?
Living/dining/kitchen faces the front of the house. No yard, just a driveway. Back of the house which is upper level (bedrooms) faces the back. Backyard has to be accessed by going out the front and walking around
HI Lenore, very interesting. It would probably be best to have us design the space for you. Is that an option for you? www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process Let me know? If not I will try to figure another way to help you out with this one. Have a great day

I need help!!!!! I'm in Long Island NY. I have a backyard that needs everything. I have the space but I can't visualize where everything should go. HELP!!
I can help with the visualization for sure. It sounds like 3D Design would be best for you. Has anyone else attempted a Design? Looking forward to helping Tally....I promise I will make sure you we get it right so you dont have costly mistakes. Have a wonderful day
Hi Micah We have done everything ourselves in our yard ( me the landscape and he the hard structures) and my husband is pretty good with that. We live in Vancouver WA and is it possible to get some design insights from you that perhaps we ourselves can do? Hubby is quite a can do guy. Judy
We live in Northwest Florida Panhandle. Our outdoor structure has one section for the dining and one foe living. We literally live out there 90% of our spring summer and fall. My brother in law is a landscaper and gifted us a beautiful fire pit area in another section of our yard that we love.

Hi Chris, I would love to help. Can u book an appointment for the 3D Design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process looking forward to meeting u. Have a great day
We designed our outdoor space, and absolutely love it, but there is one annoying problem. We love the shade that our pine trees offer on one end of our patio where we have our outdoor couch and chairs, but always have to leave furniture covers on everything when we aren’t entertaining because we get zillions of pine needles dropping as well as sap ruining the upholstery. I rarely just go out to sit and enjoy the patio because I don’t want to be bothered with cleaning up all the pine needles and removing and then replacing again the furniture covers. We considered purchasing one of those 12 x 14 gazebo-type structures that BJ’s sells, but worry we will feel too closed in, and love the airiness we have now. Any ideas?
That's a tough one. Maybe a simple shade sail cover. Nothing expensive just some posts with the shade sail covers. Those will prevent the sap from hitting the furniture and redirect the pine needles. Hope this helps.
Seriously considering your design services.. In San Antonio, TX with 2 acre lot, large pool and multiple structures in country backyard. Looking for more privacy and formality. Luv Your Work !!!!

Good evening, Micah. I am from Houston, Texas and my husband and I just bought a home in Orange, Texas, which is 112 miles east of Houston. The home sits on .67 acres and we are in desperate need of a 3-D design to help us move into a phase of OUTDOOR LIVING! This is the primary reason we moved out of the busy city - to have enough yard to live peacefully and elegantly outdoors. Please help us - we close on the home next week, but there are lots of pictures online of this property. Thank you!
Toyloria, I want to help you. I will be in Dallas and Austin in July and I would love to come visit you. We can start the 3D Design prior to my visit but I would love to see it in person and then come back to celebrate the completion. Email me at Micah@paradiserestored.com or book an appointment here www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process - please email me either way so I can make sure I am on the zoom call. Thank u 🙏
I'll be over there next week. I would love to get the Design moving asap. Email me if u are truly interested Micah@paradiserestored.com have a great day
Hi, my husband and I are planning on hiring a contractor to build us a patio. I didn't know to start with a design. Thank you for making this video!.I will ask for a 3D design.

You should be! Please be extremely cautious. We are usually 6 weeks for a Design. I could help with a 1 on 1 meeting. At least that way u will know you're not going in a wrong direction. Let me know if u can think of another way for me to help Kristi. Enjoy the weekend
You peaked my interest. Yes, I need help. I am 30 miles NW of Chicago. What do you charge for a 3D design? Challenges: big deck, most of big back yard is over septic, summer mosquitos, balancing privacy with need to have site lines to property borders for safety from wildlife (coyotes, skunks, racoons, oposdums) who don't cohabitate well with my dogs.
Hi, it’s me again, Chris Hertz, San Antonio. They just poured the slab for our new house. We have a bit of a slope and we think that our back yard has some potential. Would love some expertly advice. How do we make contact?
Hi Chris. congratulations on the new home. It would be best if we did a 3D Design of the space for you.
Well said! We just completed a design with an amazing screened in porch with dining area, I'll try to show it off soon. Thanks for the Comment Pat
Avon Skin-So-Soft! Mosquitoes 🦟 hate it!!!
LOL
Have you thought about making a small bat house? It’ll greatly reduce your mosquito problem.
yes, I have a video on it too :)
I have already measured and drawn out the yard, now we need to discuss as a family what we want, (I have a history of just doing what I want 😂 as a designer- my poor husband is in tech but started in graphic design!)
I will focus on creating rooms, and then work up the courage to think about plants (I can hopefully not kill)!
Thank u for this comment and your perspective 👌
Been watching your videos for years. Finally just signed up for an appointment. Really enjoy the content and hope you guys can help make my yard great.
I can help FOR SURE!!! I can't wait to meet u
How did it go?
What happens when people don't have those type of budgets.
Every space would be different. And not everyone has "nature" around them. Some people just have frikin grass.
Or space.
Yeah, it may be cheaper just paying for college to learn it ourselves.
Hey Micah! I’m in Atlanta Georgia. I have a new house and my backyard is on a slope. Please help.
I'll be there this Year. Congratulations on the new house. Would a quick zoom meeting get u started or is it a blank slate where a 3D design would be best? Thanks Cynthia hope to help u out this season
@@BackyardDesignGuy Hey I'm in central Georgia and I could use a designer too. Blank slate here
Hi Ben, I would love to visit.
I’ve seen the solid roof over the lounge area and the dining area with an arbor/slatted roof and vines or shade sail and that looks great.

@@BackyardDesignGuy sounds like a plan! I’ve booked a Zoom meeting.

Hey M! It’s B! Empty nesters here- just moved into a home we’re remodeling that’s on 5+ acres in Fort Worth, Texas. I’m a city girl, and have no clue where to start. Husband is pure country and is happy on a tractor and a horse. :) (He’s happy with just about anything I do, as long as I don’t tear up his front pasture or mess with his barn lol)
SO- I’ve been thinking about tons of ideas on our home remodel, but each night when we sit out on the deck, my hubby and I only talk about the vast space around our home and how much we love being outside.

Recently had work done in the backyard. We had a 2-tiered deck that needed some love. So we had the upper level re-surfaced in trex, and the lower level demoed/replaced with a cobblestone stamped patio in the same footprint.
I have many from Canada watching and I would love to help create better Cold Climate Ideas for Canadians as well as many others in Colder Climates throughout the world. If this sounds like something you would be interested in I would be happy to provide a discount on my 3D Design service. Please reach out to me via email micah@paradiserestored.com and mention in the Subject about "Cold Climate Design Help". Thank you so much again.
You might want to try my design course if you are on a budget www.backyardlivingguyde.com/
Hi Tiffany, Can u email me so we can connect Micah@paradiserestored.com. i am excited about this design dilemma 😁
You are in Beaverton? Wow! I am in Hillsboro and need help. Small backyard. Have a very nice flagstone patio and Gazebo to start, but everything else is wide-open for design options. Need it functional, budget-friendly, and far more private. Help?
Yes. I am in your local area 🤪. Here is my local page…. Feel free to book an appointment www.backyardlivingguyde.com/local-design-build-process

But need that info first.

@@BackyardDesignGuy I would like a design, and I'm open to a 1 and 1 if possible. It's a new house there's no landscaping and would really love your input
Its probably best to schedule a Free Design Appointment. Here is the link again. www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process. If for whatever reason you don't feel good vibes about that then we can jump on a 1 on 1 meeting. Congratulations on the new home. I look forward to helping it become your Backyard Paradise!
You said you’re coming to Austin… I’m an hour south in San Antonio. Is that an option for an in-home consultation?
It's a possibility. Can we start with the 3d design and have a zoom consultation? www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
I’m is Northridge California and I need to a low cost design for my backyard. The kitchen remodel was an expensive nightmare going over two years now.
Backyard:
Half for pets and children with artificial turf with perimeter smooth gravel so pets and children won’t hurt themselves if they run or all in that area.
The few good friends I have we’re smart but Southern California and I should’ve followed them when they did.💔
Hi Susan, I am happy to help ruclips.net/video/nboBA5dSMnI/видео.html

Hey Micha, love all your videos, been watching for awhile. My wife and I live in Georgetown, TX (right outside of Austin) and are preparing to move to a brand new house (still in Georgetown) within the next couple months. I have been spending a lot of time thinking about how we want to design our backyard and layout it out for optimal hosting/parties but also to give us some privacy from the neighbors. I have a lot of thoughts/ideas but not really sure how to make it a reality, would love to connect and get some insight and potentially a 3D design. Thanks.
Hi Josh, first off thank you for watching our videos and supporting us....that means a lot. I would LOVE to help you with your new home. I would be happy to chat with you but I would for sure recommend us doing a 3D Design for you. Here are both links www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process - www.backyardlivingguyde.com/coaching Please let me know which one sounds the best for you? Have a great day. Thank you again.

CANT WAIT
We are moving to Reno, Nevada in September. Would love to find out more about your service to help us design our backyard.

Yes. I would for sure recommend that we do a 3D Design. We will work with u to solve the wind issues www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
Where are those items in your home? Are they faced towards the front yard? How do you access the backyard?
Living/dining/kitchen faces the front of the house. No yard, just a driveway.
Back of the house which is upper level (bedrooms) faces the back. Backyard has to be accessed by going out the front and walking around
HI Lenore, very interesting. It would probably be best to have us design the space for you. Is that an option for you? www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process Let me know? If not I will try to figure another way to help you out with this one. Have a great day
I am at the begin stage. I have a two D but haven't started. I don't have a 3 d. I have asked for one. I have gone to a designed kitchens and inside. She has done some outdoor. I do I contact you please?
Melissa, contact me via my email micah@paradiserestored.com . Here is my 3d design process www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process. Have a great night.
We are in New Jersey would love to have your input on the backyard design.

I can help with the visualization for sure. It sounds like 3D Design would be best for you. Has anyone else attempted a Design? Looking forward to helping Tally....I promise I will make sure you we get it right so you dont have costly mistakes. Have a wonderful day
How much do you charge to design a backyard that is about 1500 to 2000 sqft
That would most likely be a "small" price www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
Hi Micah We have done everything ourselves in our yard ( me the landscape and he the hard structures) and my husband is pretty good with that. We live in Vancouver WA and is it possible to get some design insights from you that perhaps we ourselves can do? Hubby is quite a can do guy. Judy
Hi Judith. Yes, we could easily get a design that u could follow as DIY’ers. It would be an honor to help u.
We live in Northwest Florida Panhandle. Our outdoor structure has one section for the dining and one foe living. We literally live out there 90% of our spring summer and fall. My brother in law is a landscaper and gifted us a beautiful fire pit area in another section of our yard that we love.
I love this comment! I'm so happy that u love your backyard space. Enjoy the outdoor season.
I need a design for my side yard. How do I contact you or your company? I’m looking to build in a few months

Hi Micah. I’m in southern NJ, outside of Philadelphia. I have some ideas but need help designing my backyard.

Thank u 🙏
my 1 acre lot is a blank space so far and I don't even know where to begin! Struggling in Northlake Texas!
Hi Kathy, I think you would be a perfect candidate for a 3D Design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process
Can you come to Albuquerque, NM after September this year. This is the brand new home so backyard is empty. Let me know
I would love to! I have family there too 😊. Can we get started on the 3D Design prior to that? www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process

Love watching these videos. How far out are you booking to do a yard design? My backyard is being redone and I'm hesitant without a plan
