I lost my beautiful short hair Calico last year. She was 19 when she died. Towards me she was the most loving, affectionate, protective and perfect cat ever! She was never fond of sharing her mom though. She saved my life by waking me before I slipped into a Diabetic coma. She was my best friend and my everything. I miss her!

My Maine Coon, Lestat, was my shadow. He was such a lover boy. I had him for 17 years. When he passed, it was like my heart was torn out from my chest. He would wait for me when I got home. He would sleep with me or on me or between my legs. When I got sick or was depressed, he was there for me. He would purr, meow, and roll onto his back for pets. He was the best cuddle kitty ever. I swear the kitty I have now was his gift to me. Bailey, we believe she is a Turkish Van. She has multi colored eyes (one blue one yellow), mostly white except for the markings on her tail and back (she has the thumb print). She has all of the traits of a TV and a DIVA. There has not been one moment when I’m not smiling with Bailey. She is continually making me smile and always is doing something crazy. The only problem is that she don’t cuddle and is extremely skittish. She will lay next to me, but only on HER terms (DIVA). Thank you, Lestat, for giving me Bailey. She is an adventure.

I adopted a purebred Turkish Van, and DIVA was the perfect word! I believe you are correct. ❤. My son’s favorite cat ever was a Maine Coon…big baby! He was prone to fussiness if he wasn’t getting enough attention. He loved cat shows, being picked up, handled, and carried around all day. My DSH, who made CFA Royal in one show weekend, hated them. Peekaboo (Maine Coon) won 2 ribbons in his lifetime, but he always went, and we let her stay home after that. ❤

My generic small male grey tabby was the most ridiculously affectionate cat I ever had. Got him while living alone, come home every night he was meowing at the door, jumped up into my arms, had to pet him/hold him for a couple minutes every night when I got off work.

Bengal cats usually are too wild to trust being penned down in their owner’s lap. A few will go to your lap but most dont’t like it and want to escape. They may follow you all over the house and jump in the shower with you but don’t expect the, to want to sit in your lap and cuddle.

    • @ShankaraOm
      @ShankaraOm 3 года назад +6

@@bengalrose well affection is showed in different ways, animals have their own personality, they aren't toys or teddy bears that we can hold as we want. So when i say all are affectionate i mean they all show love in their way but not all enjoyed the same things. I never owned a bengal cat, but all wild rescue big cats can show love to human when they created that bond.

Finally, one of these affectionate cat lists on RUclips mention the Bombay. One of the reasons they say not to get a Bombay is they need you to spend time with them. They will actually get stressed if their humans are away too long. They will follow you wherever you go. It's very seldom that you can take a shower without them sitting there waiting for you. If you want a cat that truly loves you, get a "mini-panther."

If cats ever discover what Craigslist is Siamese will threaten their owners with being put up for sale unless t you give in to their demands. I've had two Siamese and the cat of my childhood had a German Shepard terrified of her presence. That dog had most people terrified but she would cover at the sight of that cat because as a puppy that cat bloodied the dogs with her furry razor blade claws nose to explain who was at the top of the pecking order and never let the dog forget her place.

We have a tonk as well and she is a velcro cat, she is never far away from us. She is in love with my husband, she always sits in his lap and the love in her eyes when she looks at him makes me jealous 😂 and she sleeps with him and always have to have skin contact. When he is away from the house she loves me too, but as soon as he walks in the door I just gets ignored. She is very demanding, talkative and affectionate, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We have a rescue tabby and it has taken us five years to get him to become my lap cat. He is still very skittish and is super alert to any unknown noises, and will hide under the couch as soon as he gets scared. He does have the loudest purr we have ever heard, so we can tell when he is really happy, and he is extremely food driven.
Stay healthy, safe and sane 😊

There have been studies showing brown tabbies are a good bet for affection! They evolved in cities, to cater to people’s emotional needs. Fawn ticked (not striped or whorled) tabbies are closer to wild ancestry. They tend to be more active and independent, although I keep seeing Abyssinians on the “affectionate” lists. Perhaps their breeding has created an exception to this rule. I’ve rescued/fostered 150+ cats/kittens in conjunction with shelters, and have never personally met an exception. I NEED an affectionate cat. My ex preferred our fun, active ticked tabby, Doc. That’s why it’s great that there are so many kinds of cats for us all.

I am obsessed with Devon Rex cats.
Not only are they very smart and social, but they are so attached to their people that you sometimes forget they are cats.
They are also very much velcro cats (although if their people are unavailable they will snuggle and play with each other until their humans return). I have had Devon Rexes for about 18 years now, and in all that time, unless I actively remove them from the bedroom and lock them out (which results in a lot of kitty cries, scratching at the door and paws under the door), I don't think I've spent a single moment in bed without at least one of these babies either tucked under the covers with me or cuddling against my face on my pillow. And since they are as loving toward each other as they are toward their humans, it is more frequent that you will have many cuddling with you at any given time (to a Devon's way of thinking, why would you have 3 cats spread across 3 human laps, when you can have 3 cats piled into a single human lap?).
A few nights ago, I wasnt feeling very well, and the warmth of the cuddling (which is always just a little "too close" since they like to really bury their way into you) got to be a little much. So, rather than bother them, I tucked them up against my husband (who they also sleep cuddled with if I'm not yet in bed), and I went into our guest bedroom. It took them less than 5 minutes to figure out what I did, and track me into the other room, so they could get in their "rightful" cuddles. We went back and forth 3-4 times that night, until I eventually (with a ton of guilt) decided to close them out of the guest room.
After quite a bit of commotion to make sure I knew whar a horrible cat-mom I was being, they left to go back into my bedroom and cuddle up with my husband. Because hey, he may not be "mommy", but he is still one of their humans :).

I have a Siamese and he is SO QUIET!!!~ His ginger brother is louder and more vocal than him! When my Siamese does meow, it's so quiet my hearing-damaged ears can't even pick up on it! He's not the snuggliest cat, either, but he sure has a lot of love to give. Before his brother came into the picture, he and I would sleep back-to-back. He always tries to sit on the couch with me, too.

I have only got a moggie, he's ginger and white, but I can't sit down and have five minutes without him jumping up. I feel like I am the one who has to thank them 😁 I feel like I became a whole new person since I adopted them, which was in February 2020. I actually wanted ONE cat, preferably a SMALL one but one of the Norwegians caught my attention because he wouldn’t leave me alone. The lady who worked there told me both he and his brother had belonged to a guy who starved, beat and burned them with cigarettes. His brother had a really bad eye infection when he got there. They had never been to a vet and had worms. His gf reported that psychopath for animal cruelty. They were both in really bad shape and were extremely thin when they got there. They were both 6 years old, people didn’t really want them, since they were mostly interested in kittens... so I ended up adopting both because they were brothers and I didn’t want to tear them apart.. The second one took some time to open up to me. Best decision of my entire life. Cats DO feel grateful and are great companions. They look so intimidating, majestic and wild but they just want to cuddle.

She can be a little bitch at times, but the minute I turn the electric blanket on and put her favorite blanket on top, she’s right in the crook of my knees purring, kneading and sucking the blanket. We rescued a cat who is either an Ocicat or Ocicat-tabby mix (no papers-the breeder abandoned his litter during COVID & a rescue organization got them so we adopted him). He is very affectionate & very active like an Aby...walks on a lease too. Ocicats are a mix of Siamese and Aby & have a combination of those traits.

I think my cats might have ragamuffin in them. They are both so loveable, brother and sister yet have such different personalities. The brother is a tub of lard that like to roll around and get his belly rubbed, and his sister loves grooming herself and others(always giving me kisses) and they both love to snuggle while being very playful at times. They are super enjoyable cats and I am very lucky to have them. 😀 that being said, I know what pushes their buttons and they can get on eachother's nerves at times but I can tell they care for eachother. I moved recently and they spent a lot of quality time together in the midst of the commotion, and finally after things have settled they seem even happier and more loveable than before!

Im surprised Turkish Angoras weren't listed. My brother has a black Turkish angora and shes super sweet and loving. And vocal. She will actually even lay on her side and let you massage her stomach like a dog. My brother and I are neighbors and sometimes when he lets her out or she escapes, she'll pound on my door. And not only for food but so that she can roll around and act cute until I pet her. I usually do that and give her food to distract her until my brother can get her. She also gets jealous of other cats. One time this affectionate stray cat was rolling on the floor for me to pet her, and stasi ran up next to us and dropped down to the floor and started doing the same thing because she wanted me to pay attention to her instead 🤷‍♀️
