Followed the recipe almost completely except for replacing the wheat starch with tapioca flour for both the custard and snow skin wrap. It was very easy to work with for every step and the result is fantastic! Husband loves it and said he will devour all the mooncakes! So delish! I was thinking of trying it with a chai spice mix and a pumpkin spice mix added into the snow skin. I'll let you know how it turns out. Not a fan of the green tea powder, but I think I put too much in.
So, I tried it and I'd say the chai spice mix was just okay, but I think if I changed up the mix it would be tasty. The pumpkin spice mix was my favorite. I didn't put too much, so it was subtle. I'd highly recommend it. I just used an off-the-shelf pumpkin spice mix and added it in to the snow skin. Yum!
