I have a few words for all the people who left negative comments on Alexandra's playing. First off, Satch Boogie is a very difficult piece to pull off correctly and she did a fair job of doing it. Was it perfect? No. But she is a STUDENT, and still learning. And Why would a guy COMPLAIN about a pretty girl playing at all? If any of you had any real talent or ability you would leave some constructive comments. I have been to Joe's Classes and Mr.Vai's and never once did I hear them say the things you people posted, to people with less talent!

Let's not forget that Joe probably had a much deeper resource well when he composed the boogie.... like most likely a 64 or at least 32 track studio with all the mixdown tech that Alexandra would be hard pressed to find for her effort. And I am of the opinion that V. Grieco has nowhere near the engineering and production experience found at a truly major label or at any of the top production houses. Her hands and fingers are smaller than those of a man, and that will cause the crispness of Satch's delivery on his video to be hit and miss for this ambitious student. I say give her the time it took Satch to get to where he was when he recorded this album and I feel that a ' rock off ' between the two would be too close to call a winner.

Jack Cade she's by no means professional. But unfortunately I've been playing for 11 years and she's better than me. I know it's because I don't practice though. I'm a master at the positions I know how to play but I get too frustrated trying to break my old patterns. I really need a good teacher

I spent some formative years in a place outside of a major city with a couple of really good guitar teachers in the area, this was early 90s. there is a standard of skill for a good as guitarist, someone good enough to play lead in a cover band, say. she isn't there. she'd is ready for a startup band of similarly skilled players who plan to spend a year getting their shit together. after that year, she still wouldn't be "good" she's 3-5 years away from that. you want to see good? look up Tina S. that girl is good.
A hellaciously difficult song to play. Not real sure why fkrs are bashing her. Ya'll act like it's easy, or some shit. No, it isn't just like the record, but goddamn, man... how many of you doing the bashing CAN play it exactly perfect? I know I sure as Hades can't. I just spent 2½ damn hours learning the first 12 seconds of the thing. Shit's hard to do. And I'm no beginner. Since being around guitarists on social media I've learned that they are fuckin vicious when it comes to other players. Constant badmouthing and putting down anyone and everyone that isn't at god-level... and even those that ARE at god-level (go fkn figure!). Impossible to please, they are. And rarely a kind word for anyone else that plays. Sad.
Yea.. it's a pretty hard song, i just picked it up today.. I must admit im a pretty fast learner, so far i can play the entire intro before the soloing starts, at 60 bpm, nearly flawless.. im having some issues when i need to do the diminished sweep at around 00:27 6th fret to 9th fret on the A string, into a 7th fret D string, 5th, 8th and 7th fret on g string. - Its insanely fast on real speed imo. Also in the first two phrases (basically the intro) when ending the first phrase where you slightly palm mute the A, D and G string whiile playing (5th a, 4th d, open g).. i need to figure how to switch between muting with palm, my hand, fingers.. etc. i guess it just needs a couple hours of play through until i really get the muting down.
Very well done! Even Satch would be proud of your effort here. There's always room for improvement but hey nobody's perfect nor should try to be. Disregard the sexist comments I have no doubt your just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. Keep up the good work. :)
You, my dear, are very good! I'm still trying to nail that song. But judging from the way you play it and the way Satch plays it live, I may have bad tabs. Some apparently said it wasn't perfect, but if you watch Joe play it live in different concerts, he never plays it exactly like the original. So pay the negative people no mind.

A good performance overall! Got the notes pretty much bang on and the tone is almost perfect! A few things for consideration though. Some of her technique can be a bit sloppy between the two hands and letting some open strings ring out and a few moments I felt the shuffle feel of the track was lacking and it was a little to 'square' in places. But certainly those are just a few minor gripes with it, which I'm sure have been fixed by now :) a fantastic song and a great player :)
Well done , very good performance. To all the picky people out there. Music is personal open to different peoples interpretation. Joe has years of experience and will not be equaled. Alexandra is playing her version and the way she interpreted the song . People are not robots. I have played many years. I can play my version. I do not have the balls to put it out for the world., but she does . Well done girl the majority of us enjoyed it.
