What is the best oil for cooking, frying and baking without no effect
We grew up eating food cooked in cold pressed Mustard oil, which has been used in the northern and esstern part of India for centuries. I still use it, esp when cooking fish and non-veg. I cannot eat them otherwise. What is your thought on this? Thanks.
Mustard oil is banned in US and Europe because of extremely high euric acid. It does have benefits but has some disadvantages. You can read it in google. Im from india, but we use Coconut oil, usually extracted from home grown Coconut plants.

Studies done on laboratory animals in the early 1970s[6] show that erucic acid appears to have toxic effects on the heart at high enough doses. However, more recent research has cast doubt on the relevance of rat studies to the human health of erucic acid. Rats are unusual in their inability to process erucic acid, and the symptoms in rats caused by a diet with high levels of erucic acid have not been observed in pigs, primates, or any other animals.[7] An association between the consumption of rapeseed oil and increased myocardial lipidosis, or heart disease, has not been established for humans.[8] While there are reports of toxicity from long-term use of Lorenzo's oil (which contains erucic acid and other ingredients), there are no reports of harm to people from dietary consumption of erucic acid

@@vishishtmishra9082 it may be even healthy, west is evil
The issue is not whether it’s saturated, monounsaturated or polyunsaturated. The issue is whether it is natural or processed.
All consumable oils have to be processed to some degree.
Ghee cooked on fry pan with salmon is amazing guys! Not an every day meal obviously but once every now and then and the taste is amazing!
Thanks for sharing! That sounds delicious!🍴
Why not every day?
@@benjaminrains2374 Salmon should not be an everyday meal, it's not cheap for most people and it's very fat. Very healthy but not everyday food
Dr G, I’m a Nigerian. West Africans typically cook with palm fruit oil, which appears on your “yes list.” But I was disappointed that it wasn’t mentioned in your presentation. For instance, does it contain monounsaturated or saturated fat? I know it contains medium chain triglyceride. Is it okay to take two tablespoons of palm fruit oil as a dietary supplement?
We recommend consulting with your physician for any dietary additions & concerns as everyone is different!
The best practical recommendations that I have come across. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment 🙌
Thank you Dr Gundry. 🙏 Always enjoy listening to what you have to share. Very healthy.
We appreciate your feedback, Tina! 🙏
I stopped using Canola oil years ago...
That's great!
Dr Gundry don't you think that the highly oxidized fats in refined canola oil are problematic? Cold-pressed organic canola oil is a different story, but unfortunately the ones we find at the grocery store are all highly processed.
Hello! Here's an article from the Gundry MD blog that might help find the best olive oil: gundrymd.com/best-olive-oil
forget canola; its a gmo product; it gave me TIAs!! very dangerous.
I thought canola oil was inflammatory Also. Wow
Only EV Olive oil for me❗️
Wow never expected this thank you Dr for the good road to health
You're welcome, Sandy! 🙏
Oh! Canola is back? I didn't know it. Thank you so much for all of this information, Dr. Gundry.
We appreciate your feedback, Yara!
Canola oil course's heart disease diabetes and cancer. It's super oxidised omega-6 fats when heated convert to trans fats.
Never canola 🤮
No Canola is Out for good!
Dr Berg says use oils made from a vegetable. Not a seed. Vegetable oil is not a vegetable! Avocado is, olive is. Etc
Is it okay to cook with olive oil, pan frying meat etc ? Thanks
We don't recommend using our Polyphenol-Rich Olive Oil with high heat, like baking. This formula is more like a finishing oil. If you're looking for a healthy cooking oil, we recommend trying our Chef's Select Olive Oil. It's great for sautéing vegetables or protein at medium to low heat. You can find more information about it here: bit.ly/2L6oBRM. Thank you!
You can use Avocado Oil for frying.
Extra Virgin Olive sauteing always‼️
Hi! Avocado Oil is ok and Gundry pproved!
I only use EV olive oil. Sauteing never too hot 🔥 Heat your pan first to medium high, then you can control the heat.
Really enjoyed this oil exploration! 🔥 And for those curious about home remedies for burns, Honey Lavender Magic is a gem. Give it a shot! 💜

I've already switched from using a lot of the bad oils but I continue to use bacon grease. So my question is how healthy or unhealthy is bacon grease as a substitute to other kinds of cooking oils?
Chef's Select is great for cooking on low-medium heat while our Polyphenol Rich Olive Oil is a fantastic finishing oil over salads and other foods.
Thanks for the info! Based on other videos, I've considered using MCT oil for cooking. Is it a good option?
We don't recommend using our Polyphenol-Rich Olive Oil with high heat, like baking. This formula is more like a finishing oil. If you're looking for Gundry Approved baking oils, we recommend Extra-Virgin Olive Oil or Coconut Oil. For more baking substitutes, check out our article here: gundrymd.com/baking-substitutes/. What about Sesame Seed Oil? You mentioned in another video that you recommend Sesame Seed Oil.
Hello! Thank you very much for your question. You can find Dr. Gundry's approved food list here: gundrymd.com/dr-gundry-diet-food-list/ Thank you!
No its a seed . Only oils made from vegetables are healthy and vegetable oil is NOT made from a vegetable.
So what is the best oil for cooking, baking and frying without no effect?
Extra virgin olive oil is recommended. Avocado oil is good too.
@@romanr9977 Really confused because smoke point of unrefined coconut oil and olive oil is very less. So isnt it dangerous if used for cooking ?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐What about sesame seed oil which is high in polyunsaturated fats, right? Light sesame seed oil has a high smoke point similar to avocado oil. I've been told that it is a good choice for pan frying. Toasted sesame seed oil which is darker in color is used as a seasoning or a finishing oil. My question is if they toast a sesame seeds before extracting the oil then is the toasted sesame seed oil damaged.
Hello there, thank you for reaching out! Cold-pressed sesame seed oil used as a finishing oil is extremely healthy. Dr. Gundry does not recommend using any kind of sesame seed oil to cook with, as this oil is highly sensitive to light, heat, and oxygen. Toasted sesame seed oil may already be heavily damaged by heat. We hope this helps!
Thank you Dr Gundry! How about Palm oil?

So, does peanut butter count as peanut oil and is therefore bad or is it good?
Hi there! Thank you so much for your question. You can find Dr. Gundry's list of approved foods here: gundrymd.com/dr-gundry-diet-food-list/ Thank you!
Peanut butter is absolutely not the same as peanut oil.
Sunflower butter is also a thing and tastes the same as peanut butter (both are made by mixing only the nuts) you can make lots of butter with the nuts, but very little amount of oil because oil is just the fat from the nut while the "butter" is the whole nut
Hi doctor, Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Do you think Extra Virgin olive oil is suitable for Indian cooking ( frying and roasting)? I have heard the oil breaks down into cancer causing substances since it has low smoke point. Can we use the olive oils in market which are not Extra Virgin but they mention that are suitable for roasting and frying?
Hello Diksha, great question! Dr. Gundry highly recommends using avocado oil for high cooking temperatures. 🙌
Surely he got the coconut/olive oil smoke points the wrong way around!!! Anyone who as ever fried with either knows that olive oil has a much lower smoke point than coconut. Bad advice here.
@teresamurphy1035 That depends on whether it's refined or unrefined. Refined coconut oil has a higher smoke point, but it's apparent that it's not what he is referring to.
What about the hexane used to process Canola oil?
Interesting question! We'll add this to our growing list of questions for Dr. Gundry to possibly answer in an upcoming RUclips video! Don't forget to subscribe to our channel and turn on alerts so you never miss an update.
its toxic!! AVOID canola oil!! it rips and tears the venous system, gave me TIAs and it forces the body to produce abnormally lg blood platelets, and fewer platelets than normal.
I thought Dr. Gundry’s top cooking oil was perilla oil. Was that left out here because of its limited availability in the U.S., or has organic canola replaced it.
I use Butter from Italy and Italian Olive Oil only. I wouldn’t use anything else even if someone paid me!
Olive Oil industry has been taken over by the Mafia esp Italian.. Look into it. Safest bet is to use Californian olive oil, no adulterations, etc. Safety over taste.
Greek olive oil would be perfectly ok too.
Italians don't actually use olive oil much in cooking foods. Apart from low temperature cooking.
They mostly sprinkle olive oil on dishes after they have already been cooked 🍽️👌🏾
💀
Avocado oil is the best for cooking with medium to high heat and olive for anything cold to medium heat. However they are both expensive.

For highly saturated oils you are recommending that we use in moderation but I do not hear you recommending the same for highly polyunsaturated oils - are you telling us that we can eat as much as we want of omega 3 and omega 6 oils? You think those are needed more in the body than saturated oils like Palm Kernel Oil and Coconut oils?

Rapeseed is canola oil. New video now says not to use canola as it’s a seed oil. (See his podcast channel).
Great Video! Isnt Canola a trans fat though?
Hello there! Canola oil does not contain trans fats.
Can't heat oil?
Canola oil is very cheap for a reason; it's an unhealthy low quality oil, that is dyed and extracted with hexane.
Best oils are: Olive oil, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil, Red Palm Oil, Butter
Worst Oils are: Soybean oil, Vegetable Oil, Canola Oil, Rapseed Oil, Cottonseed oil, Corn oil, Safflower
Peanut oil is midgrade and Sunflower oil is little worse than Peanut, consider High Oleic Sunflower oil
