Okay listen, I loved this video!
Several years ago I wanted to get into hand embroidery. I bought the class from Bluprint (if anyone remembers that being a thing) and I did some stitching. But quit, kinda lost interest. Mainly Because I didn’t know how and where I could actually utilize what I was learning.
This tutorial is great! Can you do a few more? Like different fonts, longer names. Maybe some cool different applications (beyond onesie).
Your projects are really cute. You break things down and give some killer tips (like how you cleanly did the i in this video).
I just found you - i think you came up in a feed on YT. I don’t do other socials, but I’m following you now on Etsy.
    Love your videos and projects!

@@amandagann1210 Amanda! This is the best comment! Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement. You are so sweet!
I was actually on bluprint and craftsy too! Definitely not the same anymore. I have several
Other hand-embroidery videos on my page but I’m working behind the scenes on a course that focuses on beginner hand-embroidery and how to apply it to everyday life (not just make things in the hoop). If you want, you can subscribe to my newsletter! I send updates, new tutorials, and tips…and I’ll be sharing more about a course in the next month! www.southernsewingco.com/subscribe
I hope this helps! I’m here if you have questions!

looking to hand embroider my kids names (in their handwriting) for my own personal ornaments. Do you have suggestions on how to get started with this? Never done this before and everything is overwhelming trying to figure out the how to's :)

Do you have any printer recommendations specifically one that the ink does not bleed onto your work? I am going to be purchasing a printer soon and have done a bit of research myself but I'm unsure if I should lean more towards a laser printer or inkjet. Any thoughts or suggestions are very much appreciated!

@@racheldye5118 let me look into this and report back! It may be worth a call to Sulky’s customer service if you plan to embroider a lot. But I will see if I can research this. Excellent question!

So the tender touch just irons down smooth and covers everything? May do that to hide some of this mess on the back of my first swaddle 😂

😂 it does! Definitely do a test first on scrap to make sure the heat settings on your iron are right. Apparently mine runs hot lol
