Thank you so much for this amazing video! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Excellent question!! I don’t think I’m equipped to provide an answer though 🤣I hope you figure it out!
Do you recommend hand washing?
@@LaurenHill-j6y I’m a horrible laundry person and throw everything in together 🫣🤣. But I’m probably supposed to tell you to flip inside out and wash on gentle if you do use the washing machine! ❤️❤️
Hi Ashley I'm back at working on my father's quilt. I have a question. For the borders it says 6 inches wide but no length. It says for border lengths. Sure what that means.?
Hey! I'll have to pull up my pattern...but I think I estimated the width on the top and bottom, sewed those on, then evened them up...then guesstimated the other 2 edge's length and sewed those on. The finally just squared everything up. I hope this makes sense! I'll look back at my pattern and see if I can figure something else out here.
Hello from Canada, looking forward to this! 😊
Oh my gosh, hi!!!! I'm so excited! I'm not sure of the time difference but I hope to see you live! If not, it's okay!
I love it! Vary informative, I was wondering if there was a reason why you use safety pins in the middle instead of normal sewing pins?
@@EmoNinjaKat89 normal pins would work too! I always think I’ll stab myself. I’ve got the big pins for a long arm and those super hurt 🤣
Just Wow!! I have been home sick for 7 days and watched more quilting videos than I can count. Yours were THE best! Your sweet personality, the format, the simplicity, no nonsense, videography, lighting, speed of info, just EVERYTHING!! I've made a few quilts but I learned a LOT. You gave me confidence and motivation. You can probably guess I'm an excited subscriber now. Keep up tue GREAT work!!
You have no idea how much this comment is needed today! It means so much. I often second guess myself with videos and content, and it's people like you that help me to see that maybe I'm doing something right! I sure hope you're feeling better. Thanks again for your comment! Happy New Year :)
These do not look like what I would consider T shirrs
Haha, I get this comment a lot! While many of the shirts I used for this quilt aren't 't-shirts', this pattern is definitely a good one if you have them! I've made another version with t-shirts and it turned out equally as nice. Happy quilting!

So beautifully done.
Thank you so much! 🥰
As a beginner quilter I have to slow down a lot. So one speed fits all would not be a good thing for me. Glad you pointed this out. I'm currently using a very basic machine that my husband bought almost a decade ago and it's working fine.
@@CreativeStitchingwithAnn This was definitely a thing for me! I’m used to stitching slow, especially around bags so it was worth mentioning! Those decade old machines are always the best :)
All my years at big box fabric stores and I don't think I've seen cotton satin panels. Interesting. I will check them out. Thank you. (Also loved to see your helper. Glad to see the next generation pick up crafting.)
@@robertacaruthers7568 Hey!! So I definitely got this online, BUT i have seen these panels more and more at Joanns. Definitely not this adorable though haha. Thank you for watching and your comment! I’m even trying to get my boys to sew. They can at least help their wives out one day and be able to sew on a button haha.
@southernsewingco keep trying to get them involved. I watched the demise of home EC classes go by the wayside, it is sorely needed (as you say, even to sew a button on or fix a hem.)
You’re so right! They had them when I was in high school and I wish they still did! Instead we are dissecting circles and skipping cursive and time telling 🤭
It's not cotton satin, it's cotton sateen. Tighter weave smoother finish fabric.

Just ordered my pattern on itsy, can't wait to get started i must have watch you video a 1000 times just to make sure. Im a beginner. On the blocks do I use a stabilizer or can I use the heat and Bond? Because I have mixed shirts and a few tshirts as well. And I already cut the blocks I hope thats ok 🤦🏽 please advise.
@@annarivera4636 hey!! Great question. I’m so excited for you to get started! On the blocks (if you want to) use the stabilizer. You can square them up again after fusing if you need to. Save the heat n bond for the hearts ❤️. Let me know if I can help more!
@southernsewingco thank you so much for responding. I will keep you posted. I don't have the fussing stuff so I'll have to go look tomorrow and get some.
I just used your tutorial and finished a "puppy quilt" gift for a friend getting a puppy. 😊 I loved it! The binding was a litter hard for me but my measurements weren't perfect, this was only my second quilt, so when I washed it my top fabric pulled out from the binding in some places. Quick fix and no one ever would know. But it was a lot of fun and easy to do. Definitely built up some experience for this quilting newbie.
@@abigailmyers3731 oh what a great idea! That’s such a sweet gift. I know the binding can seem like the trickiest part and it gets easier! Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment ❤️
What type and size of needle is easiest to thread for using the 6 strands of embroidery thread? Should I get a chenille needle?
I usually use a size 5 DMC needle, and I can wiggle all 6 strands through! Or I like the crewel needles too, which have a little bigger eye and are super sharp. I usually save the chenille needles for knit sweaters and yarn!
@@southernsewingco thank you! Your tutorial is so good! This is such a beautiful project!

Thank u ! I watched four of your videos. I’m a very new beginner, learning at 65. I’m in a class but we only meet once a week. And my mind is racing with all kinds of ideas.
Go you!!! That's awesome! I'm glad these videos have been helpful for you. I'm here if you need me :)
I’m a brand new quilter. I’ve made a few passable lap size quilts but a 10 year old would win in the state fair novice class over me. 😂. At 60 years old I’m enjoy learning a new skill. This video was so helpful and I’ll be binge watching the rest of this series. Thank you for your detailed explanations! I am coveting your craft table because of its height. I find that if I pre wash my fabric yardage and tumble dry, I can smooth it out better for truing it up when it’s still warm from the dryer and the sizing or whatever is sprayed on the fabric when it’s manufactured gets washed off and my needle goes through the fabric better. But sometimes the sizing left on does help with keeping the fabric stiffer when sewing, almost like starch. I don’t pre wash precuts. I’ve purchased precuts online before and some of the squares had the pattern printed crooked which made them unusable. A sales person at a quilt shop told me that some fabric companies gather their lesser quality squares to sell to “lesser quality” online quilt shops. She also thought big box stores were the worst place to buy fabric but I am on a budget, and with coupons, they work out for me since this is a hobby. I apologize for running on here. I’ve tried without success to find beginner quilting lessons at any shops near me but maybe the holiday season is not the time for them to be offered.
Hi!! You are amazing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge about fabric washing and the lesser quality squares to particular online quilt shops, that's so interesting! We are definitely on the same page with the big box stores though; I love their coupons! I've also been wanting to get a new crafting table that was bigger but can never find one this height...I'm so used to it and love it! It was our kitchen table from Big Lots when we only had two children, but we've had to upgrade since then haha. Good luck with your quilting journey! You are on the right track and I am definitely here if you need anything!
Aww your son is adorable ❤ I have to try this instead of spending $600 on a embroidery machine.
@@Judy-ys2ge aw thank you!! You absolutely can and I’ll be honest- I bought the $500 machine first and loathe it lol. I have a really hard time with it and much prefer hand embroidery! I hope you do too❤️

I just got some of this on Amazons Black Friday sale to try it out! I have a tendon issue in my stitching hand and thought it had a sticky backing, do you know if I’ll mess it up if I use spray adhesive to adhere it? It’s basically hairspray as I’ve not been able to find another one that doesn’t make my fabric art gummy and paper sticky
@@LivingDeadBabyDolloh no! Sorry for the confusion with this! You could probably use the spray and it would be fine? I always hoop mine with the swaddle and it stays in place!
@@southernsewingco No worries, it’s on me for not paying closer attention to the description and just assuming it was the sticky kind 😅 Thanks!
@ 🤣I do this a lot!
@@southernsewingco In our defense, those online descriptions especially on Amazon are like a paragraph long 😅😆 Mine came with free pre-wound bobbins for some reason, although I didn’t order them, and this really is a LOT of material I don’t see myself having to restock for at least a year maybe more so I’m pretty happy about it all in all 🥰
@ so true!! I always pray there are bullet points somewhere or reviews that answer my question so I don’t have to ready haha. Very odd that it included bobbins for a hand embroidery item but it sounds like a win🤣🤣
Thank you for this video! Truthfully I had skipped to the backing portion of your video. It has been a little while since I had done anything bigger than baby/crib blanket. So I was drawing a blank on figuring out the backing for a bigger blanket that's not wide fabric.

Thank you so much for explaining the process in detail. What method do you use when you make a jelly roll quilt? Which is your favorite?
Hey! Thanks for your comment! With a jelly roll quilt/strips, I would do either loops running down each or waves across. Hi. Theresa here. Followed along step by step but right at the part where you fold with triangle on binding and then it was a fold? A little lost now. Sorry. I tried expanding pictures to. Maybe because I am left handed lol
Hey!! Sorry for the confusion here and I'm so glad you reached out! I'm trying to figure out which part you're getting stuck at. Have you sewn the strips together yet? -Ashley
@@southernsewingcoHi. I have seen the strips and and at the very last part where you iron in half. Next stop is you showed how to fold bottom edge of the binding to make the half square triangle and then the next screen is the fold I don’t understand. At 11:03 ish. Sorry I am probably just overthinking this
@@doublekhobbyfarm I got you! So at the end of our strip, you see me fold the fabric into that 90 degree angle. Next, cut the edge of that triangle off (leaving about 1/4"). I see there that I didn't include that part, just showed the end result...sorry about that! After cutting the edge off the triangle at the end, I continue down folding and ironing. That fold at the end is naturally created there. Sorry for the confusion! This was my first online course😅.
