This is the most helpful hand embroidery tutorial. Thank you for explaining what you are doing and why as some of us have no clue what we're doing and this feels very one-on-one.
Oh I love the result. Its so lovely. I hope you dont mind if I ask you a question. I've done 2 embroidery but when I take off the hoop. My jacket jeans and my polyester blazer become cringkle all over the embroidery. May I know what it cause? And how to avoid the cringkle result. Thank you so much before. Love from Indonesia 😊
Thank you!! It may be a result from pulling the material too tight in the hoop. If the fabric becomes too stretched, once you unhoop it, it tried to jump back to its original form. Let me know if this helps! If not, I can keep thinking! 😃
I haven’t in the past and the items I’ve embroidered wash and wear fine over the years! But I still think it would be a good idea to be safe. It’s kind of one of those ‘do as I say and not as I do’ 😂
Thank you for this video! I hope this doesn’t sound silly but I’ve never embroidered before. When your done pulling the stitching through do you just cut the string and leave it as is or do you knot it?
Hey, Sarah! Not silly at all and you are exactly why I make my videos! I'm happy to help however I can. I definitely should have included how to tie off in my video- sorry about that! Check out this other embroidery video around time stamp 6:20. It can show you! ruclips.net/video/_hAsFicx3J8/видео.html
hi! i've been planning on embroidering (for the first time) my denim jacket and i stumbled on some questions, like what are your tips on deciding what you want to put where, the design and placement, if it's stretchy should i use a stabiliser but skip the hoop so as to not stretch it? is it better freshly washed or worn once or twice so it can get soft-er before embroidery?
Hey!! These are great questions. First, I would embroider whatever you love! Or whatever template/pattern that jumps out at you. I love flowers! I’m always drawn to them…placement wise, this could depend on how much time you want to put into it. This size on the back took hours lol you could go smaller/less intricate to make a quicker project. If it’s stretch I would would still consider hooping: for some extra stability. You don’t have to pull it super tight. However, you can try without the hoop and see if it’s doable! I can’t say that I have a preference between old/new clothing. Most of what I embroider on has been worn, so I think this just may be a personal preference!! I hope this help. Find me on Instagram @southernsewingcompany and message me if you need me!
@@sheridell5806 yes! If you’re concerned about the back, you can cover with a product like this: amzn.to/4e2ophz But I regularly wash mine and it’s fine!
This would be one of the only things I do recommend washing first! It would stink to work so hard embroidering and have the chance of having a blue tint after washing 😬😬. Hope this helps!
Hey, great question! You will be tying off between colors. I should have included it on this tutorial! Sorry about that. This is a recent video I uploaded...check out time stamp at 10:00...it includes how to tie off! ruclips.net/video/aWJcX_USTto/видео.html

Thank you, just recently I had a thought of wanting to relearn how to do hand stiches❤
That’s awesome!! I’m so glad this video could help.
The stabilizer is awesome! I wonder how it disappeared. I should have known.
This is a brand new discovery for me and I just had to share 😂

Beautiful. Do you finish the back of the jacket? (cover the stitching where it will receive wear?)

@@southernsewingco i see, i see, thanks a lot! this helped me decide a bit better !
How have you finished the inside of the jacket please. Have you covered the reverse of the embroidery or just left it as it is? Thank you
Hello! I just left as is, but you can definitely cover if you feel the need.
When the project is done, is the jacket machine washable?

I have question, I have purchased new demin jackets, do you recommend washing them before doing the embroidery?

What embroidery needle do you suggest for denim work?
amzn.to/3JsHVXz these work well! Basically anything that’s sharp! ❤️
How do ypu secure the knots when switching between colors?

How many threads did you use?
Hey! I mostly used all 6 strands for this!
How long did it take you to finish this??
Hey! This one took a few hours I would say, broken up over a few days! But I also have many distractions lol
