Honestly, this was amazing to watch. I am an aspiring mechanical engineer (starting uni in september if all goes well, yes I'm 17) and these videos are insanely interesting. I sometimes find myself in bed thinking about building parts like these, and seeing the fabrication process and the ingenuity that goes with it was very useful. Keep up the amazing work!
WOW I didn't expect to get 100 likes! thanks for showing your support guys i'm glad you enjoyed my video! here's another banger to watch. Building a compact turbo manifold - ruclips.net/video/TKYBpphp2xA/видео.html
Nice fab work. I can see a couple design flaws tho. Careful with odd shape box setups as it can influence air flow, it better to be uniform shape, and not sure on the air sealing of the lid join you have, and the filter too just sitting in there, plus I would have gone a bigger filter . But good one mate.
I was just wondering about the possibility of fitting ITB's on my ride and came across your channel. Great ideas and great work, but aren't the gaps between manifold an itbs a massive vacuum leak? Shouldn't they be sealed?
Hey you are correct there are gaps inbetween the manifold however it has since been fixed. Also there is no vacuum on that side on the manifold. You will only ever see vacuum between the top of the piston and the back of the throttle body plate. Thanks for watching Greg!
@@MattBerrymotorsport thanks for the inspiration! When I put my manifold back on, I left off a couple of brackets that meant there were a couple of thru drilled holes into the manifold. On first start the engine revs wouldn't stop climbing. Once I put those bolts back in, the revs stayed down. I'm not sure of the physics behind that... Anyway I may try out your mods on my integrale
Damn this is awesome. You need more views, I wonder how much power you gained using this good vent airbox. I have my itb set up on my 92 Celica st pointing to the fire wall like you did before.
Matt, I was just thinking of doing an ITB on my Nissan QR engine when I came across your vid. Great job man! I was wondering how you were concerned with rain water coming in through the intake causing hydro-lock?
first thing get a sway bar from a paseo, they bolt right up and cost a fraction of the whiteline ones. next up is coilovers and some front camber then tyres
@@MattBerrymotorsport OK thanks brother. I already have the coilovers, I only need a stabilizer bar. mount the header and remove the silencers. I want to know if they can not put a racing cam stick or something that gives me more power

Yeah man you will go a long way if you are constantly wondering! I do the same thing myself and it's great to have a idea and then make it happen.
There’s something simply beautiful about clean and proper custom fabricated parts
looks awesome mate well done good to see someone doing something different with a starlet
Cheers mate! It sure is different to drive to the usual starlet.
Excellent idea putting stock bonnet scoop to great use!!

Keen to hear how it sounds compared to open trumpets, looks clean as
cheers Jack, planning to get it registered this week, i havent been able to drive it anywhere yet :(
I feel your pain boss, I lost my license in Feb and my Sirion GT has been sitting in the front yard since with a dead battery
Stay safe 👍
You too bud
Good job Matt, was keen to hear it running.
Still needs the tune sorted, I'll have it running this week.

Whooooow!
Great design and fab!
My only question is.... does the chassis flex. 😂😂😂
That was so cool to watch.... u think this can be made from fiberglass?
thanks! i dont have any experience with fibreglass but i dont see why not!
Ngl, when you rattled that ally stock around, my mind went straight to the foley of the dropship crash in Aliens. ^_^

About 5hp on the dyno, seeing as it only makes 110 you can feel and hear it on the road haha thanks man!
A great job my friend. Congratulations from Venezuela. 😇😇😇
All the way from Minnesota good job man
Like the modifications
Seen this in person today at the tuners, sounds fucking sick looking forward to the Dyno vid
Hey man thanks! I was literally uploading the dyno video just now and the laptop died 😂😂😂 will be uploaded first thing tomorrow
Great fabrication skills 👌 awesome CAD design 😂
Haha yeah mate the CAD design works great!
Amazing custom job!
Amazing work! Congratulations!!!
Man... That's rad. I'm working on my setup now and will start posting vids soon. How did it affect sound?
the aluminium makes it resonance/tinny a bit, but sounds great eitherway

Hi Paul great question! We only have rain for 6 months of the year so I guess I won't be driving it during those times haha .
@@MattBerrymotorsport Or modify it to divert water away from the ITB's
Bang up job m8 I would have love to see a bigger filter tho
I did think about that but the hole in the bonnet is tiny as it is. Either way it still picked up 5hp on the dyno lol
I'm looking to build a 2AR for high hp next season. I found some 48mm throttle bodies that are only 100usd for all 4
that's a fantastic work man
Hey mate. Where did you get your little press brake and what is the thickest aluminium it will bend.
Well done ,hats off mate.
Really love that job well done...how much would it cost me for one just like that
Not for sale sorry... took over 30 hours in planning and build time. Not worth selling anytime soon at that labour rate haha
Beautiful work!
Awesome build bro!
That's a big succ energy right there
I have that same engine and I would like you to tell me some tips to ride better on the track
first thing get a sway bar from a paseo, they bolt right up and cost a fraction of the whiteline ones.
next up is coilovers and some front camber
then tyres
get those 3 things sorted before you try to make it faster, get it to go around corners good first :)
@@MattBerrymotorsport OK thanks brother. I already have the coilovers, I only need a stabilizer bar. mount the header and remove the silencers. I want to know if they can not put a racing cam stick or something that gives me more power
You gonna turbo it ?
Good fabrication skills, Matt!!
cfm or cm3 volume of airbox?
this was so awesome!!!
Thanks Nick!
Good job my friend 👍👍👍
Unreal 👌👍
you are a dragon!!!
F1 engineering
U need a 4age blacktop gearbox on that
Very hard to find though :(
C160 6speed?
4age itbs?
4efe throttle bodies x4 ☺️
Вот это идея и турбо не надо)
