There's a good chance all the valves bent with the k24 rocker arms when you had no compression and were cranking it. Not by much but just enough to create a low power number. It will also create large back fires and that pulsing sound heard from the itb at a lower rpm when under load. A3 bottom plus a2 head with no aftermarket mods have consistently netted around 175 to 185whp. So something is not right in your valvetrain.

On a K20a2 full stock, with 52mm ITB (Jenvey, not OBX) I made 230Hp and 230Nm Your head flow great, but you don't have enough compression for the cams to reach great power numbers

Check out the carbon Tegiwa intake man! I think it would be perfect for your setup! I got one on my rsx type s! Sounds amazing and actually feel a difference. Going this Monday to get dynoed we will see how my budget fbo k20z1 does. Love the vids dude

That first dyno comparison, was that a misprint? The A3 made more power all over than the A2 head swap? Was that because the swao was done and dynoed before tuning, or on different days, the a2 being super hot temps? Just dont make sense even without tuning that the a2 head swap would make almost 15 less hp?
How long is that stock a3 block going to last for going past 8k? My ep3 has a k20a stock internals with kpro but the rev limit is set to 7900 but it still scares me because of the big oil pump
I made 235whp 165tq out of a k20a2 with z1 cams, uncut rbc, ktuned 72mm tb, ktuned hearer, rdx injectors. If you are going to use the k24 bottom end you should be making 250whp 200tq, ive stumbled across your channel before, dyno numbers always disappoint, i think you need a new tuner

This heat is killin ME lol, I work 10 hour days in an auto shop 🫠. I have an ep3 as well I live in southeast texas. Yeah the heat bogs everything down for sure.

The engine is strong. I don’t want a k24 in it. The heat kills all power. Trust me been doing it long enough to know the heat is the X factor in all this. As soon as the temp drops I’ll prove it.
I agree, I have a k24 in my ep3 with skunk 2 long tube header and its insanely fast, I beat my friends 08 civic si by like 2 car lengths. At this point it feels like a waste of time and money trying to make k20a2-a3 combo work.
Yea if im tearing out pistons its not longer gonna be a daily build lol. I would rather swap the engine with the Full A2 i have sitting doing nothing. I don't do bottom end unless im going big. Also nice to see you in the comments here :)

You can relocate the battery with a kit from Nisda on the passenger side but i think my cold air intake i had from Rsx might work

yea the temps and low compression killed the power output but hey a cooler day will yield higher numbers
it's only 10% drivetrain loss in fwd cars, so it would be 177hp at the crank...

What are you comfortable revving your k20a3 to?
8,100 is comfortable because it don’t drop oil pressure until about 8,600rpm so 8,100 is a safe number for me personally. Gives me a buffer

If you have access to a CNC machinist, a manifold is basic work for them. It's just a matter of if they're willing to do it/have time.
