Literally got fit into the Byrson Shaft yesterday. I could finally get a feel for my driver while swinging with this shaft. Even got fit for 2 hybrid shafts as well. Next project is getting the irons into LA shafts! Keep up the good content guys!
I have been impressed so far with the LA Golf shafts i have tried. I really like the Olyss that i have in my driver. Just pulled the trigger on the L-Series iron shafts.
I was looking for a good shaft for my Taylormade Mini Driver 300 (13.5 degree model) and after testing a lot of different ones, I ended up with the DJ edition LAB shaft and my god that shaft just works so well for me. I can feel it through the swing, keeps it dead straight and is my fairway finder
As a longtime PGA Tour fan and someone who was somewhat excited about new possibilities of the LIV Tour, was it just me or was it almost comical how silly the names of their little teams were... everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect anyone who enjoyed it. but I most certainly did not! they had a draft the night before and all the sudden everyone is on a team like the fireballs😂 for example... Hilariously, the commentators were speaking about the Fireballs like it was their beloved Manchester United that have been around ages .... it was all so silly and childish to me. Not to mention there's no TV contract, no real business plans, no sponsorships, no charity Partnerships, and a ton of money they have to pay these players that just can't sustain itself forever make a Profit, much less break even @ this rate... I think this is just a hobby for the Saudis, and to get people's mind off their atrocious human rights record. It also seems like something they drew up at the bar one night when they were drinking..like a we're so rich let's just start a golf league guys!.... then, months later after they had immediately forgotten, somewhere reminded them they actually had to put this thing together.. I'd much prefer watching a 72-hole event because we get an extra day of golf on actual television...
What's up Gents! Long comment seeking some opinions .. Since this is the most cutting-edge Golf Channel, I wanted to ask you guys your opinion on the Hzrdus Smike RDX Blue driver Shaft? My swing speed puts me between a stiff and X Stiff, I could go either way but I choose stiff 7/10 times.... Recently I had a fitting on a demo day with TaylorMade @ my CC and spent most of time on irons. The fitter was kind of fast pacing me through a driver fitting for the new stealth.... First he put in the Hzrdus red- X Stiff. I hated it, ballooned everything and was missing. Then bam, the only other shaft I tried was the Hzrdus smoke blue and it was a perfect fit! First time I've ever been fit. I ended up with the 9 degree Stealth set 8.25 weight in the max fade position and I ended up with #1 dynamic gold 120 and #2 modus 120 in irons... What is yall's opinion on the Hzrdus BLUE? I don't see a lot of people playing it, then again I'm not playing as much golf as I used to. I had gotten down to a 4.3 handicap and I'm back up to around 8. The Hzrdus BLUE has me hitting a good drive now around 300 that used to be around 285 on a good poke... Plus I'm hitting up on the ball more, but I'm telling you it's like the Hzrdus BLUE has a spring in it or something w/ the super soft middle section with the super firm tip and pretty firm butt... Anyone have any opinions on the Hzrdus Blue?
I gotta say, I got fitted at club champion and he gave me two shafts, same maker different weights and that was it, I feel like I was a little cheated for the money, I need to find an independent who is not pushed by specific manufacturers.
What we, the players of the world, need is a company with some resource that can come up with a standardized test for shafts and put the information into a single database for all to see. I would love to see the oscillation frequency. flex droop - mount the shaft with a 1 and 2 kg weight on the tip and supported at the base, mid and tip. The same weights at 1m perpendicular to the shaft to measure resistance to torque. With that information, it's a matter of some math to calculate the resultant face position for various swing speeds and head weights based on a cubic center of mass model.
Well you had me at the first part of your comment, then lost me with your mathematic Wizardry...😀 But being fairly new into the shaft world I have done a pretty good amount of research over the past two weeks and find that there is a need for a database and some standardized tests that can compare one shaft to another... the ei profile is pretty good, but hard to find on some certain shafts like the Project X io.... I would like to see some other tests developed and have these resources all in one place
It's unbelievably how Mac can manipulate his swing and delivery to meet his needs based on his eye. It's unfuckinbelieve how he can just flat make shit work 😳😳😳
This was super, super interesting to me as I recently changed into a G425 Max and the standard Alta shaft got snapped in transit and I happened across a cheap Trono on eBay to replace it. I kind of wish I'd had the other shaft to back-to-back it with now but boy oh boy the driver feels like it's on steroids and it's soooo controllable. Mac's shot shaping ability is insane but I'd also love to see that test with Drew on the DJ and Bryson shafts because I have a feeling that ramping up the speed is going to make the results more disparate. I'm honestly considering LA Golf shafts in a set of irons based on my experience. Last thing I'll add is that I get the whole only being able to play with one shot shape, I've had to alter my swing to a cut/fade but again, that was so easy to do and I'm longer and have a much tighter dispersion pattern.
I know this is a late reply but I’m more so replying for others that might come along and read this. Trono and Bryson signature are completely opposite profiles. Trono has all of its stiffness in the midsection and Bryson sig has all of its stiffness in the handle and tip sections.
Even later reply, they replaced the Trono with the Bryson series. Just went through the warranty process when my Trono snapped. I was provided a Bryson series as a replacement
I wonder how much the screen off changes the intent. Would love you to try a shaft you think would be good for Mac with the screen off and see if you get poor dispersion with that as well.
DJ is on the board of directors and a partner in the company. I don’t know about Bryson but you could argue he’s the only reason that lagolf is in the spotlight recently.
