    It's amazing you mentioned the weight rule of thumb in the beginning. Just got a new set of irons and went from a 105 to a 120 in the new set, and sure enough it has reduced my leftward miss by a substantial amount.

    Great video! I have just been fit for new irons with c taper 120’s in. It’s so true what you say about the low spin/launch not necessarily being the case. I tried $ taper but they were flying high and spinny, tried the c taper and they ended up being exactly where I needed to be numbers wise. Sexiest shaft in the world as well - bonus 🎉

    Love the content keep it coming. I will echo the sentiment about how important shaft can be and how it is very player dependent. I am a PGA member and recently did a multi session iron fitting (*because the first session shaft winner made no sense). I am a 52 year old pro, but can still get to 110+ SS with driver. The best iron shaft of the session. by a decent margin was the Nippon Zelos 7 stiff. I did it again a week later, and then about a month later and the Zelos was the clear winner. Literally makes no sense at all, yet here we are. It's the reason why we go through the fitting process to see if there is something that feels better than others, performs better than others, and produces the results we are looking for.

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  10 дней назад

      Hi, Merry Christmas. Total honest answer I've never dived deep into graphite shafted wedges. Reason being I have predominantly worked with higher speeds but also players who are moving to graphite for speed and then in a wedge they don't need speed so tend to stick with steel. What is the reason you want to go to graphite in wedges? Can you just go heavier in SW to change any feel you're looking for?

    • @IMon503
      @IMon503 10 дней назад

      @trottiegolf I've seen a lot of fitters suggesting that the same shaft in gw is a good idea and if that's the case, then gw would have 80g shaft and dg spinner 115g, at present, would be a 35g difference.

    Hi Guys . Just quick question I would like your thoughts on please . If You were looking at lighter shafts for the senior player say an 85 gram steel would gravitate to a lighter swing weight in the build . Say C8 to D0 Or just go on the player feed back ..?

    • @trottiegolf
      @trottiegolf  Месяц назад

      With senior players they generally grew up with heavier SW's so I don't like to lighten them off too much unless we're dealing with injuries or extremely slow speeds where lighter will help BUT it's gotta be slow.

    Great to get some knowledge on shaft profiles. How long would it normally take an amateur with a proper fitter to figure out what type of shaft they'd be good with? Weight is far more important for feel and timing, if you're new to golf you probably won't even be able to tell the difference with flex without looking.

      Depends on your speed but I wouldn't rule out graphite to max out your numbers

    Why do Americans say 'get fit' when it's 'get fitted' for golf clubs. The gym is the place to get fit. Just saying...

    What a absolute load of crap! How is none of this common knowledge? So I've been trying to adjust my swing for about 5 years just because I don't know this knowledge this information. Yet this information is never actually put out and nobody actually makes anything plain. I go to Fitters I go to Gulf coaches everything else you can think of yet none of this information is actually put out there why?

    I dont like a heavy shaft. I like light shafts, i add lead tape to the heads on my irons so i can feel the head

    People would be surprised at the amount of regular and stiff that are on tours worldwide. Also after 29 yrs as a professional, weight is king not necessary flex...
