Great review! I really enjoy watching your videos. I wish I could have heard your opinions and driving impressions on the scat pack wide body though. It seems like everyone is focused on the hellcat and Redeye. Please do another short review video that includes everything that was left unsaid due to the driving embargo !
Absolutely, this is my favorite car and body style. It’s one of my biggest “fears” that they change it. I’m not willing to spend 80k on a car now, so I’m going to wait a couple of years. Hope they keep it.
I just came to read the comments of people who want the redeye manual transmission but don't actually drive manual and just making an excuse. Demon is 808hp at 93 octane vs 797hp redeye 93 octane = 11 unnoticeable hp. The redeye is the best option if you can afford it.
Exodious that's only with race fuel! Yes they build it to accept racing fuel which is amazing. But you can build a regular hellcat or anycar to accept racing fuel!! Redeye is basically a demon minus the drag radials the suspension and some other small stuff. Redeye is the best all around, it can turn better it has a higher top speed.
If I could afford it I’d buy a redeye, but I’ll stick with my c5z for a little longer. I do wish the redeye came with a manual, but its probably best it came with an auto. Damn student loans keeping me from going 200
Awesome review ..... there’s a lot to be said to Roman’s point, it won’t have the Bugatti’s $12k oil change, it won’t require the McClarren’s 3k mile engine checkup, won’t need Ferrari’s $500hr service for blinker replacement nor will it need specifically trained mechanics with one-off tools the vast majority of others require
This is RUclips ... plenty of vids of exotics/ hyper cars eating it big time ... Eddy Griffin slamming into a concrete barrier because the Ferrari couldn’t turn comes to mind. Repairs to the dodge are a lot less than an exotic ... you could buy a second car for what a front end replacement would be on an exotic
Texarmageddon you're just a straight up hater 😂 you keep commenting on challenger videos trying to bash it, if you don't like something you wouldn't be constantly watching lol
I own a supercharged Mustang. I work at GM. If I were to ever buy another muscle car it would be a Hellcat hands down! I wouldn't even consider a Camaro or Mustang. Especially after driving a friend's 2017 Hellcat last week. Incredible machine.
Azazel-_xl the demon doesn’t reach 840 unless it has a full tank of 100 plus octane race fuel and an added demon create package lol... So still, 808 is demon power... I’m good with that... I’d take it to the track here and there but it would mainly be my daily driver...
The red eye has a stronger built engine, torque converter, drive shaft, half shafts, and bigger intake and supercharger to mention a few things than the hellcat. It's bullet proof compared to the hellcat. I'd buy the red eye widebody for $11k more.
So the Redeye they were testing was at a 88K sticker price of you include Tax and License your close to that 100k mark. So do you buy a limited production Demon with more special features and better looking hood, at the simular price or do you get a Redeye. And at the end they said they would get the Hellcat for 17k cheaper!
I'd be happy to just still have the 71 RT I had 40 years ago , I wouldn't know what to do with 700+ HP . Great video . , , , OK yes I would I ride a Ninja now at 62 .
You should put labels on the screen of which vehicle you're in at the time to let the viewers know which vehicle you're in. Just a tip. I think it would be useful, especially when comparing vehicle's so people wouldn't get confused on which vehicle you're currently in/using/talking about. Keep up the great videos.

Awesome comparison, from a hellcat owner, I love the original hellcat hood (2016-2019), the new ones 2020 look awful. As cool as the widebody looks, if I step it up, ill try to get a demon, even though limited and probably used, be worth it. Regardless all personal preference and all them are great cars. Love Dodge!!!!
On these cars visual wise, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I think if FCA did a major overhaul in terms of redesign, in my POV, they would ruin a very familiar visual profile that has grown on me since the release of the Hellcat Charger and Challenger back in 2015. I really like that they not only gave it a few very small Easter eggs, but they were more focused on the internals rather than the visuals, although they did change the hoods, which I think looks retro, yet badass in terms of that dual-snorkel hood. That being said, I’m aware that some will think the Challenger has become outdated since the Challenger’s release and I totally respect that. What do I think about it? I think that despite having throwbacks to the classic late-60s and early-70s Challengers, it still has some elements that also make it look pretty contemporary as well like the wheel design for instance. Again we all will have different views on this, as Nate pointed out, assuming you watched the video. Anyways great vid as always! 👍
Honestly it’s already second to seller. All FCA needs to do is make the interior on par with the Ram trucks and focus on making it super reliable. They need to That in general though.
I think more of the complaints are the Hellcats look like base model challengers. If you think about it we’re paying 3 times as much for a car that looks the same as their base models they should’ve made all the V8s widebody or somehow a little more aggressive looking.
I don't see it being a huge advantage on the NA 392 engine compared to the needed cooling on a supercharged motor. I thought the 1320 only had the suspension technology for drag racing.
I want to know what happens to the lap times with a Redeye widebody on some sticky tires. Maybe some Michelin Sport Cup 2s. That's the trick Lamborghini uses to get good numbers from a heavy car.
The profound effect of some racing wheels, cc-brakes and improved downforce (with a stupidly obscene wing) could be seen on the Viper ACR and its time improvement over its "casual" siblings... (awd on the other hand doesn't make a well balanced car faster round a track, other than some pretty messed up fwd-boxes like audis and such.)
Of course a Lamborghini or Viper, or whatever exotic would be faster, but you can't deny the huge improvements from tires. The tire options from the factory on the Challenger are pretty weak. It's either all seasons, drag radials, or mediocre Pirellis. The 305s are finally wide enough, now to handle all of that mass some really sticky tires would make a huge difference. It should be capable of turning in times similar to a heavy AMG or something like that on the right tires.
True...TIRES are the #1 most important performance part on a high powered car. It would easily pick up an additional 2 secs on a 2.5 mile+/- race track. It would also show that a stiffer suspension would be needed. T/A viper was 2 sec faster with the Michelin cups that with the stock Pirelli Corsa tires around Laguna Seca.
I would take the Hellcat Widebody with a manual. I like the manual connection and it more fun to me, that tenth is not as important and with a tune I could be faster than a Redeye
I respect what you would rather have in your opinion. But it’s way more than just the “tenth”. You can tune the redeye too. The redeyes built with way stronger internals and has two fuel pumps and much more. Just saying. For the money more reliable power and strength. Yes please. I own a RedEye as well so I’m not just a talker.
@JeremyGarcia-l5d I don't care for straight line speed cause I have a 9.1 second 70 Dart so I will crush a Redeye for less money. I want fun and connection to the driving experience and the Hellcat manual has that. I have driven both so I do know how they drive just not sure if I want one to own also looking at a Viper for alot more money but worth it or a C8 Z06. I care about track times as well.
Those quarter mile times at 7:20 explain why the fastest demon time anyone has ever achieved is 10.23, and that was done in winter. The redeye has basically the same engine but runs 11.1 and 10.8.
@@StrykerV8 Wasn't the one Dodge ran a 9.65 with completely stock too? Yeah yeah, I know that was a miracle pass and will probably never be done again. No telling how many passes and hours of prep it took to achieve that time.

His suspension was setup the same as a Hellcat by accident from the factory. All they did was change it to how it's supposed to be. He's been a 9.85 btw.
The Redeye seems like the better car because "it's the most expensive", but I also think the narrow/wide body hellcat is just as good if not better? It's very seldom these days where people buy these bad boys and leave them stock. Hellcats have proven to make large amounts of power with basic modifications. What it really comes down to is how deep are your pockets. Either way they're almost the same. Beautiful cars though!

You guys realize the new challengers and chargers almost share nothing suspension wise or chassis wise from its predecessor years ago that use to utilize some E Class components.
I don’t understand why dodge didn’t include eYe being Red inside the badge from day one. That’s the hole point of the Hellcat, no matter it’s 707 or 797 HP.
Actually it's grammar guy....if it was OCD I'd have also mentioned your OFCOURSE, But that was a typo instead of not knowing which word to use. This was a teachable moment for you...You're welcome.
@@MrPAULONEAL ??? That .... Makes " no sense". You didn't get what I was saying. If the widebody option Drops the standard Hellcat's Topspeed by that much, It WOULD drop the Redeye 's Too. All the Time/Speds They gave are Very Questionable. For example, the Standard Hellcat ... Doesn't do 203mph. A 10Hp increase doesn't Increase Top Speed by 4mph, Especially when the New hood, Increases Drag. The guy even Said the wrong Torque Rating for the Hellcat.
This is very enthralling! Quite shopping for one. I'm bending towards Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye, but a few of my friends told me to wait for the 2019 Ford Shelby GT 500 code named the "Predator" subjectively packing over 700whp with Launch control. Then, there is the Chevy Camaro ZLI 1LE, the fastest, best handling sports car of 2019 that does evrything with stellar performances. I surely would like to see the Red eye, Shelby GT 500 and ZL1-1LE on an intense comparo. Might help me somewhat.
Andrew L. Thats the story they tell. When it came to putting a manual in the Charger, they had another story... they always have a story. I think they don’t want to outsell their competition too badly, because of something behind the scenes.

Man if only I could push myself to work a little harder... I'd definitely scoop up a SP, HC, or Redeye. Probably would be safer(And cheaper) to get the SP.
TLF, keep up the great content boys!!!!!!!!!
What Color was the Red's Engine Block?
Widebody stick shift hellcat have line lock?
What about the Hellcat Pinkeye?
Please tell me how you got the YELLOW HELLCAT?!?!?
Is that SIR or PIR or another track?
saw a 5.7 Hemi 300C today with only Hellcat badges. Couldn't keep up with my tiny 2.0t
Son of Tamriel In your dreams
I'm thinking the 2019 Yellow Jacket SRT Hell Cat with carbon fiber striping is the way to go as far as color !! Man does that ever look sweet !!
enjoyed the caparison, truly the look on you guys faces while getting your boogie on, says it all!
WHERE CAN YOUBUY ONE I DIDNTKNOWTHEY WERE OUT YET
awesomeness!!! thank god Nathan was driving he knows how to haul ass! looking forward to the charger review I'm considering buying a Scat pack or Daytona.. but if Hellcat prices drop to the 40's that'll be something to surely consider. Thx Roman and Nathan t
I’ll just wait a couple of years and scoop up a Redeye at a reasonable price when the hype wears off.
That B5 blue is incredible
❤️ this!! I have a 2015 SRT.... I absolutely ❤️ my Challenger... updated it to have 510hp.... I love the Demon and Hellcat... but don’t have a no need... kids pull up nxt to me in their “hot rods “... meh... my 510 smokes them... but their mommy & daddy are paying for their fuel
Thumbs up to your Rush shirt!!!
Does the Red Eye 309 gearing
Love the review.especially the bus reference.steelers nation would be proud.
The redeye has different internals than the standard hellcat from what I read.
BOTH need to loose weight, I'm talking about cars ofcourse.
And Roman and Nathan 😉
NoNegotiations 😂😂💀 sure you are
*lose
@JO Thank you OCD guy.
Actually it's grammar guy....if it was OCD I'd have also mentioned your OFCOURSE, But that was a typo instead of not knowing which word to use. This was a teachable moment for you...You're welcome.
Interesting they say the hellcat loses 4 mph in top speed because of the widebody...BUT the Redeye doesn't lose anything?
It's just a body kit so that makes zero sense...
Sign me up for a Gt Awd. Didn’t even know Dodge messed around in that area with Challengers.
How much faster is the Redeye than the Tesla P100D?
Beautiful shirt Nathan !!
I have a Hellcat 707 way to much with out slicks? They left that part out !Both hot cars!
i love the burn outs!!!! SMOKE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!
Great car wish we could have them in the uk
This is very enthralling! Quite shopping for one. I'm bending towards Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye, but a few of my friends told me to wait for the 2019 Ford Shelby GT 500 code named the "Predator" subjectively packing over 700whp with Launch control. Then, there is the Chevy Camaro ZLI 1LE, the fastest, best handling sports car of 2019 that does evrything with stellar performances. I surely would like to see the Red eye, Shelby GT 500 and ZL1-1LE on an intense comparo. Might help me somewhat.
Would have loved it with a manual transmission.
I would get the "ordinary" Hellcat Widebody then. It can be had with stick.
Brenden Sider it doesn't have the transbrake it has torque reserve
They don't have a manual apparently that can handle that much torque
Andrew L. Thats the story they tell. When it came to putting a manual in the Charger, they had another story... they always have a story. I think they don’t want to outsell their competition too badly, because of something behind the scenes.
You can get the regular hellcat with the widebody too. It's not exclusive to the redeye.
