- We review the 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye, a followup to our Dodge Demon video which covered all of the technical details. In this video, we talk about the good and bad of driving the $86,000 muscle car on the street. There are cars like the Camaro ZL1, C8 Corvette, Mustang GT500 but, nothing feels quite as stupid as this new Redeye. Belt yourself down and enjoy this quick look.

Nancy boy must be a BMW or Prius lover to not like this car. I'm a bit surprised that he didn't call his Mom during the drive and have her tell him to slow down. I bet he's afraid of roller-coasters and tilt-a-whorls also.
I cant even handle the slides at a McDonalds play place without crying.
You have truck nuts on your Chevy Citation, don't you?
@@savagegeese I love that you pinned his comment lol. You handle yourself well, with these trolls.
You can tell he hates dodge and no matter what it was he would hate it very biased
God damn you I was going to say the exact same thing either he has two moms or two dads.
The RedEye does not drive down the road.
It spins the planet underneath it.

Never ever leave the technical details aside. Many of us appreciate them, especially the under body segment. However, if I said I didn't enjoy childish driving I'd by lying.
Oh stfu. Google them you turd
He mentioned in the video that they went over the technical aspects in the other videos and people also wanted to see some fun, I view this video as a addon "fun" to the previous videos :)
@@r335 Pretty rude response. I feel you should conduct yourself better in the future.

at least that one won't kill you.
herrdoktorprofessor guess you spoke too soon
I'm Italian, I watch your videos especially for the technical aspect. There are too many influencers behind the steering wheel.
Three cheers for the increased frequency in video releases :-)
I have one, there is a small case in the trunk nobody mentions. It has a pair of undies in it.
I think it’s more like how long than how many. This thing seems capable to keep burning out while in motion, 100% of the time. So you gotta count life tire in minutes.
They should fit it with a wheel sleep time integrator so you can look at the dashboard and realize oh sh*t 5 minutes of burnout accumulated, gotta buy new tires.
Just keep going till u hit the rim 😂😂
Only one pair?
@@Dialysisforever Dude, this is FCA man. LOL
The technical spec reviews are one of the special things about your videos! Please don't change too much. There's no shortage of nit wits doing burnouts in Walmart parking lots on other channels.
For the first time ever, you hating on a car makes the case for buying it so much more.
And I'm glad Asian Turbowski is finally letting loose and being himself a bit more.

@@mike-uw6wt why would I be butt hurt? Everyone know dodge makes pos, but I want it despite that. Get over your stupid self.
I like the technical specs....the under car under hood stuff is half the reason I watch your reviews.

@@LingLing1337 The supercharger alone has greater displacement than most Toyota engines these days xD
The RedEye isnt quicker than the base Hellcat in spite of the hype
You'd think Dodge could trim out at last 300 pounds mass out of this thing without trying too hard, and there'd be zero durability or reliability issues as a result.
That’s what sets this channel apart from the rest. Keep it on!

Dodge understands fun probably better than any other manufacturer. They do things that make no sense in the name of fun. I love how so many people demand "handling" when they will literally never go to the track. This car is for those people more than they even realize.
I owned a R/T with the handling package, which meant it came with Bilstein yellows. It handled well - most people complaining are just keyboard warriors who compare the handling of a the challenger to something significantly lighter or more expensive. I've read comments from people comparing it with Miatas and 911s.
@Bun Bun this thing is faster than what? 99% of sport bikes? Maybe save for the craziest litre bikes? WTF you talking about?

The Hellcat is the embodiment of what Europeans must think of US citizens. Brash, overbearing, somewhat crude and a lot of fun. I tip my hat to the guys that can swing the payments on this thing. I could also see this car helping a guy impress the girl working down at the local burger joint.

I haven't seen savagegeese giggle like that in a review! Love the review tire-shredding is always a fun time!
That was not a joyous giggle. That was a sinister giggle looking at the passenger and saying in his head.." Im going to make you lose ten years of your life from total fright".

Yep two fem guys giggling----what could go wrong sweetie?
Great cinematography, fun editing, excellent honest review from 2 geeks with no purpose driving this car. Loved it! Thanks

Ok, these credit scenes are really getting out of hand! I just love them!
I just bought a used C7 stingray 7 speed. I previously owned a Hellcat narrow body. I can see why someone would want this car. For me the stingray checks a lot of boxes for street use. The hellcat was going to send me to jail for sure. The red eye is awesome and I would love to have one I could just not justify it for a road car.
Interesting, I'm surprised you got a C7 instead of waiting for the C8.
Many people were not so lucky to avoid jail time due to Hellcat ownership.
unforeseen - The C8 is gay.
unforeseen don’t want to be part of the craziness that will be the C8. Used c7’s are a good bargain now. Plus no manual in C8. Plus the hype train of the C8 is starting to become really annoying. Not saying it doesn’t deserve it, but it causes people like u to say “can’t believe you didn’t get a C8” and no one has even driven it.
@@4040mwilson Yeah I see what you're saying. I'm debating between the C7 & C8 right now.
3:40 That's some insane editing there! You just encapsulated everything I imagine this car to be in about 30 seconds. Great choice of music and some innovative camera work!
A guy at my old job had this car. I was genuinely afraid as he was driving down a country road. It was raw and awesome.
I'm thrilled that this car even exists or was built. I could easily live with the interior not being up to $90,000 levels. I had a 2016 Scat Pack, and did not mind the interior at all. There was soft touch material where you wanted it, the design looked fine, and everything with the exception of the parking brake was logical. The car was tight as a drum, nothing squeaked or rattled. Quality was more than acceptable.
Thorough. Every single video. There is no question the amount of work you guys put into these videos and it is extremely refreshing to see such an advanced and deeply informative approach from an incredibly knowledgeable team. Keep it up because it is not only entertaining but damn informative watching these!
Finally an Honest look with Pros and Cons. I respect what you had to say about owning one. The Nostalgia and the fact I owned a 73 Barracuda is the reasons i am buying one and using it a a GT car.
Great review. thank you
I freaking love this channel. Ive been watching it for about two years, and it’s only got better🤙
Been watching you for a few years now. Best automotive reviewer on youtube, and you KNOW how to drive, unlike every other reviewer.
I didn't think your video quality could get any better but holy crap! This is about the best quality I can imagine. The effort and skill you have are extraordinary.
Dude seriously someone get Larry a show on adult swim 😂
The Mopar hat with the tag still on was a nice touch.
You really look at cars at a perspective and depth that tons of other car reviewers simply don't and that's what is great about this channel. It also gives us a ton of insight on the potential long term ownership experience with these vehicles.
I've had my challenger hellcat widebody since 2018 (ordered mine in plum crazy purple as soon as they were available) and to this day it is still my favorite car. It's paid off now and I will absolutely never sell it. It's going with me to the grave. It cruises well, burnouts insane and is just an overall blast to drive. Daily, track, whatever, I always have fun with it.
I said it in the old Hellcat vid I did. These will be classics. In 15 years they will be god cars because they are such comedy to drive. Many people will be regretting not owning one. So keep it in good shape and enjoy it.
When the title says” life insurance not included” you know it’s gonna be a great video!!!
How do you keep making your videos better every time. Literally pro level quality!
I wish we got cars like this in New Zealand, but having said that it would make no sense here as our longest straight road is like 200 feet long
I loved learning bout the technical aspects of the Demon, it was a car I was really curious bout and love, thanks for you work on it.

Good one! I hope you can review the new C8 soon. Looks like it's shaping up to become what the first gen NSX brought to the world.
7:44 is when this car turns Savagegeese into Matt Maran. If only for a few moments.
The video editing on this is stunning. Very well done in the intro
Just subscribed. 1 minute into the video and I knew I was watching the right guy for car reviews.
I always see hellcat drivers smiling and having fun, can't say the same about driver's of mustang's or camaros. I hear and see hellcats all the time in Metro Detroit and having fun. GM didn't kill the Camaro the Hellcat did!

Excellent video as always !!......and that new outro is absolutely freaking hilarious 🤣
Awesome car. I wouldn't mind having one myself, but my R/T is enough for now. I may get into a Scat Pack in the later future, but I think a Hellcat would get me in trouble like they mentioned in the video.
Dodge may want to consider lowering the price of the SRTs to compete with the new C8. It's obvious that Chevrolet is targeting the younger audience with a car that does 0-60 under 3 seconds for less than $60K. That and the interior of the C8 looks great (subjective) and well polished vs the Hellcat's interior. One could argue that they're both completely different cars as one is a sports car and the other is muscle. However, if I was given a choice between the 2, I'd be honestly hard-pressed. I love the look of all Challengers for their retro looks first and foremost; the power is just an added bonus. But with the C8, I would get all that it offers for a competitive price point that other manufacturers can't touch from a value perspective. Again, Dodge needs to make a move.
I enjoyed this. I’m one of those customers who doesn’t care about the interior. I’ve owned 5 Challengers now and I’ve loved them all. Never thought I’d be interested in trading in my sublime hellcat for a redeye but after watching this, I”m either going to consider it or (most likely) when my warranty is up I’m doing the pulley, injectors, plugs and the tune to give that sumbitch the redeye+ treatment. I’m Mopar beer goggles all day with the others in the Brotherhood of Muscle.
mikebythesun I totally respect that. Thanks for watching
One of my fav car review channels. Thank you!
I'm not obsessed by cars, nor am I even in the market for a car let alone a "Red-eye Hellcat", but when savagegeese posts a video.... I watch. Very entertaining to say the least.
The baddest car you will find in any trailer park. Guaranteed.
That shot at 4:19 is epic!
I am wondering what happened one frame after the cut.
Such a great video, amazing job guys!!
Oh man that outro is phenomenal. I do have a hard time seeing how this car is more fun on the street than a M2. Manual plus completely usable power on a small wheelbase seems more entertaining than costly burn-outs and straight-line pulls. But I haven’t gotten to experience a hellcat or demon, so hard for me to say! Thanks for the video guys.
I’ve driven both and would say this is more fun

Keep the technical parts of your videos, it sets you apart from the other channels! I love watching them
You can get a car that has 800 horsepower and will do over 200 from the factory with a warranty. And it’s not a supercar or even a corvette, it’s a $90,000 dodge (which I’ve seen brand new for as low as $70,000). The challenger is the last honest car, it panders to no one. It knows what it is, and you either take it or leave it.

Have you never heard that term before?
@@james2042 Yeah, bro,...no. I've never hear that term before bro.
The problem now is that everyone is going to compare cars to the price and value of the c8 now. It's really going to make the market reevaluate itself

@@Scypher0th at least it has a camaro rear end ;)

@@Theunforgiven5649 ur right. Maybe it's in need of it
@@Scypher0th Is any of that actually a bad thing? They said the same thing about the C7. Sorry not sorry it's a better car now. It also doesn't look like a McLaren, Ferrari, or any other exotic. No more than they all look like each other already.
Great editing. Thanks for your thoughts on this.
This was so much fun to watch. Welcome back.😁
I think you are being very harsh on the interior. Depending on the package you choose the seats are amazing and comfortable. Everything you touch is leather or aluminum, and not everyone likes the gaudy bmw / mercedes look. These are simple, clean, and functional cars. For Americas cruising and hooning culture these cars are amazing. Its not supposed to be a nurburgring racecar, its supposed to be a backroad burnout, Highway eating, drift missile, and it does that very well.
Couldnt agree more, I actually love the interior truly replicates the old cars and embrace the retro true muscle car feel this car has, I mean none of the american manufacturers give you that great quality of an interior anyway.. this car has comfort along with brute power and I cant say that about 90% of the cars out there
Didn't know you were such a prissy interior snob XD With that said, $90k is a lot... I think a $45k scat pack is the sweet spot for the Challenger.
A widebody Scatpack is probably the most useable version. I have a Hellcat, that is made for hooning on the weekends. But the SP can be enjoyed everyday
Sergey Akinin interiors are huge parts of the car. It’s where you are 100% of the time. I’d much rather have a next interior than a billion horsepower. When a car is over $60k you better be expecting an interior that’s pretty top of the line. For the Redeye to use a $30k interior is a joke. They tried to get away with it by slapping Alcantara in spots. Sorry, Alcantara isn’t $50k worth.
@@JacesOwnWorld tell you what i just bought a 66k ram limited and they got it right interior wise with this model.
The Viper was the same way. It had a worse interior than the Challenger, but that performance for it's price was unworldly.
You know Chrysler is making bank on this car. The current platform should have ended production 2 years ago, but FCA will keep selling something that is selling well.
Hellcats are under 50k everwhere
