I can't click on his videos quick enough. This man always has a passion for what he does. True car guy.
👍
He has always been on my top 3 presenters list since i saw his first review like 6 years ago!!! He NEVER drops below the number 2 spot and usually is in spot #1 lop
What's crazy is a factory stock Honda Civic is faster than this redeye on the racetrack. Sounds like I'm joking but it's true lmao. That's so sad
@@StrykerV8 But that same civic punches way above its weight, and also beats many dedicated sports cars... which this isnt lol.
Very passionate about his work i agree to that
2.7 liter SUPERCHARGER?! That's more displacement than the entire ENGINE in most family sedans.
Not only sedan, but also most SUVs in my country, where 2.5 L diesel is the most common displacement.
The average engine size where I live is 0.9 liters.
my tiny car has half the displacement of the supercharger and 11% of the total power.
but it also weighs like 40% of the Hellcat so it's not all bad news.
The engine is I believe 6.2L
Google Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye.
You're welcome 🙏 😊
I hired the "standard" Hellcat while I was in the USA a few years ago - I fell in love with it, bright orange paintwork with racing stripes and all. I had it for a week and drove it everywhere in full 707bhp mode - what a car! Easy to drive (once you've learned a light touch on the throttle in town), super comfortable, plenty of space for passengers and luggage - and absolutely blisteringly fast when you stamp on the accelerator. It also handled surprisingly well - great grip, nice balance, good turn-in, fantastic brakes - it might not be a Porsche Cayman GT4 through the twisties but it's genuinely good fun and absolutely competent. An M3 couldn't get away from me through the mountains, then fell victim to that shrieking, bellowing, whining supercharged V8 on the first straight. This thing will light its rear tyres up on the highway at 70mph - just stand on the throttle and let it kick down, it overwhelms the rear tyres, shakes its hips for a moment then hooks up, lifts its nose and disappears up the road like an F14 Tomcat being launched off an aircraft carrier with a steam catapult. Magnificent.
Just about the most "American" car since the Dodge Viper. Love it.
Yeap, the viper was murican 😏😂😂😂
No, that would go to the new GT 500
Some of us think the better handling mustangs and camaros are better cars modern sports cars. Not outdate boat's and I'm american
@@allensaunders449 both of those choices are FAR better vehicles, but they represent the "new" muscle car era of power AND handling...this is the last throws of the "old" era of just tossing a killer engine in an otherwise shite platform, ie original Mustang
@@Palios33 It was? Held the nurbergring record for a long time too! With RWD, a manual transmission, and a front engine with a giant motor.
never get bored of that supercharger whine
So true its the best car sound on earth
@@creamwobbly Its not about how it sounds tbh, its about the feedback and sensation of power and high rpm it gives.
Tomasz Kolowca well it sounds dope as fuck
I find it to be a despicable sound.
I honestly think it would drive me crazy after a while.
This car doesn't care about anything but power. Why people expect anything else, I have no idea.
Agreed lol
its like complaining about a hot female bodybuilder (all cars are "she" :P ) that doesn't do figure skating
Mike Russo people are just insecure because they know this car is great, this car was made for drag race, and this car would beat their Hondos in a drag race
@@miguel-540p It's not really great anymore, in the sense that it's the best at anything performance wise, it's great because of it's history. Performance wise, it's much like the GTR, a pioneer that still competitive but long in the tooth.
its turns as well as a BMW
8:48 That V8 growl is just amazing.
the sc whine sounds annoying though, but some people actually like all that whining all the time.
Like firefighter car , horrible
@@sepg5084 The whining is awesome
@@sepg5084 are u delusional? this whine is the best thing on this car
Who wouldn't love an 800hp muscle car in their stable to hoon around in on a Friday night.

I have zero interest in cars like this, but I love watching Henry talk about them so here I am. I'll take ~
bruh i have charger hellcat that thing has 707 hp and made me realise i have a very heavy right foot
hance samuel
Oh sorry Bruh, did you lose a bet to have to drive Hellcat. That’s painful.
Zachary Smith
Not sure why losing is fun, I would be embarrassed if I had a Huge 6.2 ltr V8 that puts out
800 hp and lose to a small 3.8 ltr flat 6 with over 200 less hp.
Just does not seem muscle cars have the muscle to back it up.
Might be the first Hellcat review I've seen without a huge ridiculous burnout. That must have taken a huge amount of restraint, I tip my hat to thee sir🎩
more muscle cars, please! loving Henry's take on this genre of automobiles which, otherwise, are only shown as dragstrips specialists.
Somehow feels weird to see a classy sophisticated car reviewing channel like this reviewing a Challenger. 😂
But the review in itself was soo goood!
Jassim exactly and than on these roads. a hwy is where it belongs😈
@@ronaldgunthrop7449 yup everyone know that, i just for a straight line, that's reason why , americna junks never will get to our level. I'll smoke that thing with a toy type R
Kevin G Laínez , dream on ricer boy
@@kevinglainez8151 the only thing smoking from a Type R would be the block from trying to race a hellcat lol.
Classy and sophisticated? You're drunk.
2:17 Here's the sound of cat engine.
I mean literally Meoooooooooooooooow
Thats not a cat,its a hellcat.
hellcat say meow
The caption for that area says [Music]. Not kidding.
It's the supercharger......
That's a whine, I want it to roar.
Trying to explain the capabilities of my hellcat redeye to people is extremely difficult given all the preconceptions about it solely being a straight line car
That's like saying the falcon heavy isn't solely a straight line rocket
I know, people don't realize it outhandles many supposedly agile cars. Over 1G on a skidpad
Here an easy answer it’s poorly engineered , like the Hellcat , the demon and yes the Hellcat red eye all have tremendous power but traction for only 400hp, Downforce and traction are missing in muscle cars. (Engineering)
my stock 3.8 ltr flat 6
Gapped all of these.
The moral is bigger is not better.
@@992turbos8 I agree with half your statement. Muscle cars don't needs to enforce because it's all about power straight line speed and high top speed. Downforce would hinder these at higher speeds so not needed. However you're absolutely right on the traction argument. Dodge needs to develop a far more superior traction control system to handle all this power. Spinning ain't winning! The other thing is this car scares the shit out of most people who buy and drive it so they cant show what it can really do.
@@992turbos8 the hate is real😂 I'm willing to bet a hellcat actually gapped YOU LOL
Reminds me when Alex drove the Charger SRT Hellcat in 2017. You can hear the giddiness in Henry's voice as he hit those curves in the Redeye. American muscle cars are the funnest on Earth.
Henry's up there with the very best of them.
the very best!
Your enthusiasm is infectious Henry,if you now what i mean.
Wow. Looks like a perfect daily driver and long distance car. I want
What an absolutely AMAZING car! I LOVE that sound of that supercharger. With cars like this available to the general public, it is truly an amazing time to be a car person! Outstanding!
bUt ElEctRic CarS ArE ruIniNg ThE CaR WoRld
The supercharger : MEOOWWWWWW
Love your commentary on this crazy car. I really like how you called it honest. I think too many cars/suvs try so hard to be something they aren’t. Dodge could have tuned the suspension to make you think it weighed less or had less body roll but in the end it’s an unabashed American Muscle car with a bit of sophistication thrown in.
Damn this car is good looking
So close, just a little slabby imo
FiddlyFaff Not many car styles still looks this good after how many years? I believe they are selling more now than when it came out!
All of them look the same lol
@@stevemorales7055 That's kind of the point. It is a part of what makes this car so special and distinguishable. Slowly refining the design of an icon, kinda like Porsche does with the 911. You just cant mistake these cars for different ones because there is no other car that looks like these do.
@@McSteveIrwin bullshit they outsold the camaro ypur comment didn't age well
The Challenger Hellcat is the best looking muscle car out there. And the engine in this sounds spectacular! Love this car.
See that smile on his face, finally a European that gets American muscle isn’t about precision and science as much as it is about the experience and freedom
I wouldn't say us Europeans dont get the joys of American cars it's just we have very few we have access to, if this was different i think you would hear alot more praise.... However some are just stupid haha but then again Europe makes some stupid cars to as does the rest of the world
America...Freedom? Think again. 😂
Although that Aston Martin DBS Superleggera comes mighty close....
@@stinkyrainbow653 lmao there's probably a CCTV watching you type this right now 🙄😂
That was maybe one of the most accurate description of the main difference between big American muscle cars and precise European sportscar. I can fully relate and confirm what you said. Great sound Experience, a lot of smiles per gallon and freedom 🇺🇸
I like the way the sun reflects the blue onto the side of the road.
After I'm allowed to leave my house again and get a trim I'll have hair like Henry
I love this car. But it's very disappointing. Did you know a factory stock Honda Civic is faster than a redeye around a track? How pathetic is that?
I've got a civic type r hence the profile but I'd take the red eye just for the noise, I think it sounds absolutely epic
@@StrykerV8 it was never meant to be a track car. It was created for long highways, not curves and hairpins. If you want a good handling car then get a 911, M-Series, 370Z, Miata, BRZ etc.
@@StrykerV8 Yeah, ofc this car is not really great at track corner than CTR because it ain't nimble hot hatch but a big hulky muscle car. Most muscle cars known for its purpose during straight line drag races, not so much for corner. But boi it's still amazing, that dem supercharger V8 whine ...
StrykerV8 Around which tracks exactly? I dont doubt this is true at very select circuits, but to say “faster around a track” doesnt create a very convincing argument.
"It became the "hell crate", made me chuckle. Still does, clearly", love this guy!
I just love these American muscle cars....everything motoring should be about; noise, performance, fun. In fact just about everything they're trying to engineer out of todays cars. Yet another great review of a great car Henry. Keep 'em coming!
This is my Dream Car right here same exact color!!! I have fallen in love with mopar this past year the sound is intoxicating! I will have this car on my channel!
Thank you for the comment about saying it's an honest car. That's so true! It's not trying to be a sports car! It's a muscle car.
Growing up in the 80’s I never imagined production cars would have the kind of power we see today. My neighbors Buick has more hp than my 86 300z turbo had!
Finally someone gets it!! I have JUST the 707 HP Charger one. He nails it perfectly!! Best car ever, the kids agree!
This car makes nice noises and looks good.
That whiiiiine tho!!!!
The snarl of that immense engine is music to my ears!
Thank You SRT for having the Stones to produce pure Muscle Cars like this
I know this is a couple years old but this video deserves respect. You get it. The car is just meant for fun.
Got dang the cinematography on the Carfection videos is always great. Plus Henry is one of the best in the game. I guess Hellcats are cool too.
A refreshing video to watch during this time of Coronavirus scariness. Thanks Henry!
Henry you weirded me out of depression with this. This is brilliant.
The presenter is great. This is the third video I've watched, and I've thoroughly enjoyed his manner in each.
Fab car review, my man! Thank you.
Thanks for being honest and not handing folks some biased, troll-ish drivel, lol.
This beaut deserves a fine review that speaks of what she is..
the queen of GT & Muscle
4:24 Look at that tire flex!
Massive torque...he has balls of steel to whip that in the canyons.
Good review! I always considered your area to be more technical European metal, but this was a very good review 👌
Had a standard R/T as a rental car for a westcoast roadtrip few years ago and I’m still in love with it. Maybe not the very best car for europe, but in the US this it’s just perfection. Looks just so much more badass than a camaro or mustang who try to be european. This don‘t which is hilarious if you think about it being based on a old Merc.
Pure Muscle Car Perfection
Henry at his best here. Highly enjoyable. Thank you. Also this easily one of the best OEM wheel design out there
Henry's right - this car is way better than you think, can't you tell by the constant smile on his face ?
Crazy days! Just to point out 3 things:
1. Glad your keeping it real!
2. One of the few channels in which the comments come from real fans, rather than for RUclips algorithm!
3. Respect Carfection!
I love the sound of that supercharger whine. It gives the car real character.
I love Carfection and Henry is one of my favorite automotive journalist-enthusiasts! "Whitesnake - Kittens Got Claws" would seem like a good driving soundtrack in between listening to that wonderful engine meow and purr.
So cool to see Henry across the pond here reviewing cars built here on our roads one of the great car guys
Monster on the road, loving the two keys innovation, its a 1st a hear about things like this. Well thought technology.
If it were my car, I think I'd have the black key retuned for 200HP or something waaay chill. Because 500 is way too much for a person that isn't familiar with that level. And what if you drop it off at the shope/mechanic/inspection... and someone decides to "blip" the throttle at the wrong moment!
I cant get enough listening to that hellcrate moter, oh I just love it
Two things this video may get a lot of hate because europeans and americans just dont mix. But we have to admit the americans are making amazing sports cars now. Camaro, mustang, challenger, corvette
“…it has a larger 2.7L twinscrew supercharger and camshaftSSSSS.” Nope, just one camshaft (not plural). Glad to see you back on RUclips from your EVO days! Keep up the good work :-)
Nothing screams American than a Dodge
Owned by Italians
@@jacobwalls452 who cares
@@JTM610 Obviously you do or you wouldn't have commented
@@jacobwalls452 with some Mercedes E-class suspensions bits from 2 decades ago...lol...not that I mind really but just sayin'
They are definitely using the old American formula of V8 power with RWD, which is always entertaining.
I have never seen a smile on your face like that!!! That is the power of that car!!!
I own the lowly 5.7L, 375hp Challenger R/T. It's the most comfortable car I've ever owned. The Challenger is just a joy to be inside. SO spacious! Everything about the interior is simple and effortless. The absolute king of cross-country.
As for the power, well, the numbers may be less than impressive, but goddamn, that HEMI is a beast. The 5.7 doesn't win a lot of races, but the smile you wear when flooring it is priceless.
Do I dream of upgrading to the 6.4L, or the Hellcat? Of course. I wouldn't be much of a car guy if I didn't. Still, 400lb-ft is no joke and a hell of a lot of fun. :D
1:24 one of the only youtubers to get that right, you got a new subscriber.
This car and the color perfection. If i can wake up to one of those man of man
Henry in a Hellcat you say? - OH HELL YES! 😈😈😈
Finally the Dodge muscle car is king again! It hasn't been since the Hemicuda beat the mustang boss 429, and the yenko camaro 427. The red eye continues the alpha legacy!!!! Hell yeah!!!
The Hellcats have the best supercharger noise I love it.
Great review. Just got this same model, in black and agree with everything you said! Smiles galore and lot's of fun even at lower speeds. What road did you do the test drive on. Maybe somewhere in CA? Looks like a great road to dirve any car, or motorcyle.
I came close to getting a Red-eye. Then heard rumors about the Charger Angel but grew tired of waiting. So I got an F90 M5 in January.
Dodge much more better then M5
I don't know what's better; hearing that lovely supercharger banshee whine, or hearing it all described by a sophisticated Englishman.
What a car, love American muscle cars great video and that noise 👌👌
The best production and presentation as always
Goooood morning carfection team!
Actually it's afternoon for the boys in England(assuming they're there?). Nice sentiment none the less my friend.

Such a great sound. For me for a car to be truly unique it has to sound unique, they achieve that here, LFA, la Ferrari, Carrera GT.. pretty good company
Holy moly, those twin turbochargers really scream - "unleash the dogs of war." Great review, Henry.
It’s supercharged, not turbo’d. Still sounds incredible though.
I have to download the sound of the redeye doing a top speed run from a standing start and play it on a loop to help me relax on those nights when i can't sleep. Adult lullabye i call it. 😁
Thumbs up for the intro!! Awesome! And I love the voice of Henry
i like the way he start the vedio the good old american way
Absolutely mental car. I wonder what it would be like with the 1000bhp Hellifant engine. When 800bhp just ain’t enough😜👍👌
My man, most of us couldn't handle an STI
Mike Russo ain’t that the truth. But it would be wild.
Just think that when they first built the hellcat engine it had 825 hp and they had to turn the power down. Imagine what the original Demon made.
At 2.7 liters, the supercharger is bigger than most other car engines. What a Beast!
High price for Europe. I have on my mind a Hellcat Widebody in less than a year. But I have one eye on the Scat Widebody, because I listened on YTube a lot of comments arguing that the Hellcat is a little bit scary 👻.
Thanks for the review!!
Dodge should make a Hellcat ACR to compete with the ZL1 and GT500
They'd need a new chassis as this is super old and they would have to reduce the weight of the car first before we get a proper track version
For me, it’s all about the FUN! I like the M5 CS but I’d be bored in a minute!
Conjunctivitis LOL! This is by far one of the best reviews that I´v seen about this car
I don't care for this car, but I love that they make it.
An American car on Carfection... I'm fucking ready.
If you're a true petrolhead, it's hard to ignore a supercharged V8. Especially if it sounds like this. And it's a bargain too.
Absolutely awesome looking car.Far better looking than the European supercars for me.Im in UK but love the American muscle car looks.
Just needs to come with a Daisy Duke as an optional extra 😉😎
Loved the chirping sound on it !
This had a ‘the grand tour’ feeling in the beginning and I loved it :)
Wow that shot at 00:49 is something else with the increasing focal length but somehow without the car changing size
I was hoping it was a 6-speed manual lol, talk about fun
My 16 Hellcat is B5 blue with the satin black hood. Love that combo
So the colour of this car is B5 blue right? Thanks for sharing this awesome cool video! Love it!
I don't know why, but I like the music of the ending... 😅😅

Off course everything else except the Dodge , everything else is fast in straight line and fast en corner, i don't need a car just for the freeway is amazing powerful but going fast just a few seconds when i can smoke every one else with a real supercar straight line and corners
The only car that i could probably thrash my money up would be a Corvette ZL1 with a Track pack.
