As a life long Texan from the Permian Basin part of Texas, your tips on Alaskan cruise’s have been so helpful. Taking our first cruise ever to Alaska on a Royal Caribbean ship in July . Thanks to your helpful videos, my husband and I are really looking forward to the cruise.
July is a great time for Alaska. You’ll have a great time. I would add to your list a rain poncho and even a lightweight umbrella. We really needed them last July in Juneau. ☔️
Glad you liked it! I’ve watched so many videos and the men are neglected. Depending upon the month, you might add extra warm socks, thermals, and heat warmers for your hands. My brother’s family went in June and were cold. We went in July and found the layers I suggested sufficient. Thank you for commenting. 😀🛳️
I love that ship! It is beautiful. Did you get a chance to check k out my full ship tour? Majestic Princess Full Cruise Ship Tour ruclips.net/video/8s45q0ofWKI/видео.html.
Right! I don’t leave home without it. Check out my new video this Friday. We are on the Celebrity Summit and it was chilly. Columbia came to the rescue in style. 😊
I’d love to hear about essentials and toiletries for Alaska. We’re headed to Alaska and it would be helpful to know what you bring (toiletries, hair tools, etc.), how you transport everything, and what you’d leave at home.
Thanks for the video. I will be in October on an Alaskian cruise. For me less mixed😊 clothes for warm and cold temperatures; it's overall cold in October. Underneath tanktops ❤as you pack❤ are btw perfect to keep body's temperature (know it from my sports experience). And some longsleeve shirts/sweaters layers matching in several combinations with bottoms are perfect for me. Despite Norwegian does not require formal/fancy wardrobe, this cruise I will have one long dress with me incl fancy😮 flip-flops🩴, bc they belong to my traditional French-Polynesian wardrobe - just to wear at dinner with officers. I'm always happy to watch your great videos, which are very helpful, although I'm an experienced cruiser. Have fun at your Alaska cruise. Greetings from Moorea (sister island of Tahiti) in French-Polynesia 🌴 🏖 😎 🇵🇫 🇫🇷 🇪🇺
Hi Claudia, I sailed in July both times, but I am sailing this May and plan to pack much differently. I always bring gloves and sunglasses, but I am adding to my packing list a waterproof poncho, waterproof pants, fleece lined pants, thermals, and alpaca socks. Plus those cool hand warmers. Can you think of anything else that I missed? It sounds like your are an old hand at colder weather. ❄️🛳️. Thanks for watching and commening!
lol, no, I’m from California (less than an hour from the fires)and have just been to the snow when skiing, although we did ski in Canada once and it was below 0!! Totally insane for sure. I hadn’t thought of hand warmers but that would be a good thing to bring! I’ve already purchased my water resistant pants and flannel lined jeans!! What cruise ship are you traveling on? We’re doing a 12-day trip, the first 5 are on land and the last 7 will be on HAL. I always travel with sunglasses but I keep hearing that you should get polarized sunglasses.
I am also from Southern California, so cold weather is not our day to day. I’d say unless you plan on going on a glacier, any sunglasses will do. If you haven’t booked your Ketchikan excursion yet, I recommend the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman. It was great. alaskacrabtour.com. And, we are on a 7 day round trip this year on Celebrity. Your 12 day sounds ideal with 5 days on land. Last year we did 3 with Princess and it was too fast.

Shower cap over the shoes, great idea! Thanks Kristie!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy sailing.
One of the best pack for Alaska videos I’ve seen. Really appreciate that show the men’s options as well. 😊

I love your comments and always look forward to them. Your life sounds wonderful so relaxing and lovely. 😊
Have you been to Alaska in May? You didn’t mention any thermals to wear under your jeans. What about gloves? Special sunglasses? Thanks!
