This video was very informative. We're due to go on the Alaskan NCL Encore in September. We have a couple of questions. Is the water in the room drinkable? And is there water bottle fill stations like at the airport? Are there amenities in the room bathrooms, shampoo, soap, etc. I'm assuming bath towels are provided in the room. Can you take the shuttle to Ketchikan without during an excursion? Thanks ladies, we've enjoyed your videos
@@bronte826 Thanks! They say the water in your room is perfectly drinkable. We used it to brush our teeth. But, we brought water bottles on the ship. We like our water cold so we didn’t fill them in the room. They will fill them or give you cups of water to pour in your bottle. We prefer sparkling water so I would just ask for club soda. It was great. There is hand soap at the sink and a conditioning shampoo and body wash in the shower. Towels are provided in the room and for excursions if applicable (like going to the beach-we didn’t need towels on excursions in Alaska) And yes, they will shuttle you to town at any of the ports that are not right in town. Juneau had a shuttle too. If you want to see more about the room we had check out our embarkation day video. Embarkation Day from Seattle: NCL Encore Alaskan Cruise Adventure 🚢 ruclips.net/video/ma7eaUWx99U/видео.html We do a room tour of our balcony room. 😁🚢

I hope you can conquer your fear too. 🚢 You will have to let us know when you book it. Oh, and take the inside passage. It’s definitely a smoother route because it’s closer to shore and there is a long line of barrier islands on the other side.
Just got back from my NCL Encore cruise and these tips are spot on! I only took my Columbia (longer) rain jacket which was perfect, and then I had a quilted vest for on board. I forgot my Kindle which was a huge mistake, because although the ship had a library I never seemed to get there when it was open. I also take scarves everywhere! One nice one to dress up, and another one to wear with my jacket and casual clothes. Wonderful video ladies!
Thanks!!! We agree rain jacket is perfect. Forgetting the kindle is tragic! I know I read 3 books on our Alaskan cruise. 🚢😁
Love your Alaska cruise packing video. Can I see your packing list? You are so organized!
Of course, here's the link to the spreadsheet.docs.google.com/document/d/1Sa-0CwCtJE4qzQeylEiM99SCCLc-HyEL/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=113661763668641912437&rtpof=true&sd=true Hope this helps! For us, having it all plotted out makes the vacation even more relaxing because you really don't have to think about wardrobe. Just follow the plan.
Is the spreadsheet available to use as a template? I am in charge of generating our family's packing list, so this would be very helpful.

@@bibliophile4610 Thanks!! And have an amazing time😁🚢
Bring an extra key card to leave in the card holder when you enter room
@@janicechristiansen6173 We did that this time! And, halfway through the cruise we took it out during an excursion. When we got back the room steward had left us one to use. Left it remainder of the cruise.😁
Thank you, ladies. Much appreciated!
Thank you!! We really appreciate the nice feedback. And thanks for watching 😁😁
Great info. Thanks. We head off in late April. Travelling from Australia.
Glad it was helpful! Your trip is almost here!! We hope you have the most amazing time. You will have to let us know if there’s any tips you got from your Alaskan cruise.🚢
Thank you for the very informative and helpful video. My husband and I are going on our first cruise to Alaska in the fall. I love that you both are from the SLO area. We (my husband and I) head down to your area at least once a year to enjoy Avila Beach, Morro Bay, and SLO. Such a beautiful place to visit and explore. Thanks again for all the ideas on what to bring for an Alaskan cruise. Happy cruising :)
Our pleasure! Glad you love the Central Coast. Are you going to the same ports?
@@corefouradventures2861 We are going to the same ports as you guys did in your videos. We liked the idea of the VIP White Pass Railroad car in Skagway but we aren't sure we want to spend the money for the excursion yet. All the info you guys provided was awesome. We are definitely doing the tram ride in Juneau. Hopefully we get a clear day to see all the views.
Oh, you’re going to have an amazing time! 🤞the weather in Juneau cooperates. Those views were spectacular. If you decide not to do the Skagway VIP car, I know the normal cars are far more affordable. For us, that was our splurge for the trip 😁
Very helpful tips! We already apply some of them but never been to Alaska. When did you go? Thinking of going next May. Not sure yet if we’ll go with NCL Encore or RCL Quantum (both out of Seattle). Thanks!
We went at the end of August through Labor Day weekend. We’ve personally never been on RCL but loved NCL. Literally getting on the Escape in Barcelona right now!! 😁🚢
@@corefouradventures2861 wow, have a wonderful cruise 🚢 would love to hear about it later❣️ thank you!

Omg the KRABBIES TO CLOSE CURTAINS. Holy moly
Thank you so much!! We really appreciate you 🚢😁
When did you go? We went in late August and did fine. Earlier in the year they are bad. My research said late May through June is bad. Just an FYI. 😉
We went the last week of August and saw very few bugs. Maybe we got lucky and just picked the best time for it. Thanks! And thanks for watching.
Towels are provided in the room and for excursions if applicable (like going to the beach-we didn’t need towels on excursions in Alaska)
And yes, they will shuttle you to town at any of the ports that are not right in town. Juneau had a shuttle too.
If you want to see more about the room we had check out our embarkation day video.

I buy everything in disposable packets and throw them in all my suitcases, bags , smaller bags etc
That’s a good strategy. Definitely clears out room for souvenirs since you can just throw them away once they are empty. 😁😁Laura does this with her shampoo.

That RX for seasickness gave me the worst dry throat. It was so bad I ripped off the patch and just took the dramamine instead.
Really? We had no side effects. I think it might not be right for you. But, if people are nervous about sea sickness it’s definitely worth talking to your doctor. @@MicheleMaBelle67 You’re welcome!! It really does make planning and packing so much more organized. Then once we’re on the trip we just have to reference the spreadsheet. It makes it so worry free. And, helps us not overpack. 😁😁
You two were so very helpful but I have a question. Do I need to bring body wash ,shampoo and conditioner or does the ship provide these? Thanks!
Great question! There is provided shampoo/conditioner all in one and body gel in the shower in all the staterooms. This works great if you’re not particular about what products you use. But if you have a specific product that you like, and you only like using that, you can absolutely still bring them. Hope this helps!!

Good Job Ladies!
Thanks!! We really appreciate you!! 🚢😁
I have a question- I keep seeing to bring a pack-able puffer coat. Is that necessary? I noticed you recommended layers of shirt-fleece- then rain jacket. Now I wonder if I should return the puffer jacket I bought for my husband...
You could go either way. But, I get hot easy and that would have been way too warm during the day in port, even at the end of season. We went over Labor Day. Hope that helps you decide. If he’s always cold maybe keep it. If not, it might be overkill.
Was the spa package worth it? We are leaving on NCL at the end of April. Thanks!
We absolutely thought it was worth it on our Alaskan cruise. We even made a video about it. You should check it out:

And for those of us who don't have an Apple phone or even want one, there is the Samsung Galaxy tag or Tile, for those of us Android-users.

What travel hair towel do you recommend for curly hair?
@@tiluo2023 We have never found a commercially available one we liked. We just took a T-shirt (works best without writing or design) and we just cut it in half. One of us has the front and the other has the back. It’s super compact that way and we just keep them in our toiletry kits for travel.

Did you take a carry on and a personal item bag or did you also check a bag?
@@gloriajohnson8297 Each couple took a checked bag, a carry-on for each person, and a personal item. Even though we try to pack light, this is the configuration we tend to end up with. 😁😁
Princess has self-service laundry facilities.
@@JaniceCrowell Yeah, there are a few lines that have that option. It’s nice to know. NCL does not have self service laundry. But, there’s a laundry special halfway through the cruise. Does Princess offer a laundry special too? Or, just the self service facilities?🧺🚢
Love the travel wedding ring idea! Definitely going to do that!
You should! It’s fun too. You get to change your ring up for a while and we don’t worry if something happens to the travel rings. It gives us peace of mind. Thanks for watching!
My ring’s never come off my finger
What size suit case did you have?
One couple travels with the following:
1 Away Medium
2 Away Carry-Ons (the smaller ones)
1 Back Pack
1 Overnight Bag
The other couple took a large suitcase,(24 inch I believe) and two carry-ons, a backpack, and an overnight bag. So when flying domestically we’re only checking one bag each couple. Hope that helps!
