Thank you So much for sharing At least 5 different things that others skip over I do not have a pass port On my disney cruise is my travel documents state drivers license and my birth certificate! Only….?
Yes, cruises that start in the United States and end in the United States typically let you board without a passport. You do need your original certified birth certificate with the seal and government issued photo ID . The thing that everyone is concerned about here really is when you get off the ship in another country. While you’re able to get back on the ship with your seapass card or your set sail card that’s given to you by the cruise line, if something happens to you while you’re in that country Let’s say you end up in the hospital or detained or you miss the ship you’re gonna have a really hard time getting out of the country without a passport and you will have to call the Embassy and go through all the things. Very difficult!! A copy of your passport will not work. I see people telling everyone to bring copies of passports and they do not count for anything. Now if you’re only going to let’s say Disney’s private Island you should be fine. And I’m really not trying to scare you. Many people do travel on a ship without their passport, but you are taking those risks. Enjoy your cruise. Disney cruises are phenomenal. You’re gonna have a wonderful time.🚢🩵
🎉since arriving at my first all-inclusive in the 90s & having to wait until 3pm to get to our room, I started wearing my swimsuit under my clothes on arrival day and packing a dry outfit just in case i want to go to a restaurant before room is ready. Same for cruises. The pools and hot tubs are mostly empty on the first day.
100% learned the hard way to pack meds with me and not in checked bag! Airline lost my suitcase, had to quickly run and buy clothes, skipped buying underwear as it wasnt essential... Until it was! Not having my birth control caused me to have an unplanned cycle that I was not prepared for! The ship only sold pads, and I had no underwear to hold them to 😂🤦🏽♀️ lesson very much learned 😂🤣
OMG laughing but not laughing!! I am sure that was miserable. But now what a funny story and YES big lesson learned!!! 🤣 Hopefully another cruiser reads your example and gets the giggles but never forgets the lesson here. 🤗🩵
@@CruiseSavvy that was definitely my hopes by posting my comment!! 😂 🤣 It was laughable even then!! Also taught me that I should always be prepared with feminine hygiene products as well! We had been traveling with Holland America... And I guess the general population either doesn't need feminine hygiene products anymore, or at least wear underwear 🤣... But it was certainly a funny challenge!!
@@xtina22e Your killing me! LMBO. But, you are probably spot on with the seasoned ladies not having products to share. (no offense Gals) Something I thought of when you said you couldn't find anything other than pads on the ship.. You know how folks belong to Facebook groups for their sailings before they travel? On one of my trips one sweet family forgot their toothbrushes. So they posted in the FB group. Well, Everyone was replying that they had "extra" toothbrushes and would meet them in front of the MDR to give them what they had. I just imagined you doing that. 🤣😂🤣😂 All the girls coming to the MDR with their products to share.
This is great advice for first time cruisers. I’ve been cruising for quite a while now so I think I’m pretty good at packing. But I always check out new videos to see if you might do something that I am unaware of.
Thank you I appreciate you joining anyway. 😃 please if there’s something that I’m not thinking of please share that and I’ll be sure to include it in an upcoming video. I’m like you, though, I watch all the videos even if I think I know it all because you just never know. Plus when I’m not at my real job, I like to do everything related to cruising. 😂
My husband and I have 2 checked bags. We pack half of our clothes in each other's suite case. If 1 suite case gets lost, we still have clothes for both of us in the other.
Because she was talking about what important things to pack in your carry on verses if they are in your checked bags and how it may take some time before the staff gets your checked bags delivered to everyone's rooms. Just my humble opinion. I have been able to get in my room before but my luggage was not there yet so I guess a little personal experience and understanding the value of her video.
I had some tiny medication bags and squeezed just enough eye cream, anti itch, antibiotic, hair serum, etc. in them to last me for the trip. Big space saver.
Some ships have usb ports on the desk lamps and wall lamps. If you do a thorough tour of your cabin in the beginning you will find additional ports /plugs. You can also ask the cabin steward to point out secret storage areas and outlets when they stop by. If you have special cabin request, such as nightly ice or mattress pad you can write out the request and put near the door so they see it when they enter the cabin. 🎉
@@CruiseSavvy maybe it has to do with which Royal port you are sailing from but I know that we were supposed to sail on Symphony in a few weeks and was told by several people that no extra regular outlets were allowed only USBs. One person even showed the confiscation table and you could see several of the exact power block that you showed, which is the exact one that I have, all over the table

Yes, you can open your account using cash on most cruise lines. Just double check before you go. Typically if using cash you must go to Guest Services when you get on the ship. They also require a minimum deposit depending on number of days your cruise is, so give them a call or check the website.
I drug my luggage across the sea tac airport to catch the hotel shuttle. While I was waiting I met a couple who told me their luggage was lost. It looked like the had c pap machine bags. They said we are going on a cruise we have the clothing we are wearing.
I prefer to tip at the end of the cruise. I will tip out staff that treat me well with no expectation of additional reward, and I always tip the room steward. Those guys tend to get the lowest pay and work really hard! I also take photos of the staff I either plan to tip, or mention in my review. This way I have their full name and official title, and can remember them later when I look over my trip photos again. I also write thank you cards for the staff I plan to tip. It makes it easier to budget and keeps the tips organized.
I love your tip about taking pictures of your staff. I need to do better job at that. I normally just have their card or take a picture of the table Plaque with their names. I like your idea better! 🥰I do tip them extra at the end of the cruise as well and I have these really cute cruising thank you cards that I use to put their tips in. Thanks for sharing.
Every sailing is different obviously it depends on when the ship arrived at port and how long it takes them to turn around the rooms. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity for example are normally around 2 PM before you get in your room. It varies. If the ship did not have passengers for debarkation, let’s say they were repositioning. then you don’t have to wait for your room. The rooms are ready.
@@CruiseSavvy I’ve been on many cruises. I’ve never had to wait past 2pm to get into my room. Not sure what the hold up was with some but that sounds crazy!
