0:40 to 1:02 that build up is so epic . Makes you FEEL you are fighting one of the most famous mythical /strongest warrior in all of japanese history .
Yoshitsune is still one of the most fun boss fights in this game. He's fast enough to have a give and take flow, but doesn't spam massive AOE and still has opening enough for you to do more than just the occasional poke. He also doesn't hit as absurdly hard at endgame (late underworld/depths) as most other enemies do, for some reason. He's basically got the same traits that make Magara an enjoyable refight. It actually feels like a FIGHT, as opposed to the binary one-sidedness of other bosses at endgame, where either you completely demolish them without them being able to fight back, or you are stuck waiting for your turn before you can even attempt to deal any damage without getting one-shotted.
@@yeembus Benkei, I'll give you, but Yorimitsu not so much. There's not a lot of interactivity in that fight because of the CONSTANT spam of high damage, quick output, hyper-armored, wide range attacks. It very much ends up a 'wait your turn' fight, especially in late-game where, no joke, a single hit takes over 90% of your lifebar if you aren't using Oyamatsumi or some other damage reducers. That's not even getting into that BS 'yokai shift' mode she gets which just turns the existing issues in the fight up to 11. Late-game really highlights the flaws in boss designs, because you no longer have ability to just statistically overwhelm the target.
Totally agree with you here. For some reason, even on +9 stone late depth, he doesn't hit absurdly hard compare to other bosses, especially human bosses. His movesets are very fair, he can be very agile and his burst counters take some practice to get use to. My only complain or rather nitpicking is that you can't apply confusion to him so the fight takes significantly longer to finish. But then again, I don't mind since I enjoy every encounter with this boss. Also, If you're running full mage or ninjitsu, good luck 👍

Man, when he entered his Yokai form, I just told myself "Yo-u'll eat shit-soon-e." And boy, I did. Somehow pulled through on my second attempt, then his sub-mission tore me limb from limb. Really fun fight, but I can't hit him with an Odachi to save my life. He's fast as hell.
Running attack on odachi in mid-stance is your friend if you absolutely must fight a fast enemy with one. Low-stance is kinda bad dps but it'll let you get hits in at least.
@@Saicofake It might be just me, but I feel like statuses don't last long enough on Yoshitsune for them to be very useful. I've fought him several times with different elemental builds and he just kinda seems to shrug off most elemental damage and status buildup.
@@amatsu-ryu4067 you are right, I only managed to proc confusion once during my fights with him. The rest of the time, I was relying for his Zero Ki to take advantage of my 49% bonus to zero ki damage

This is not a very villainous theme which is really fits the environment. Like Yoshitsune has lost control and is killing everything there it isn’t his fault. And Yorimitsu is doing her duty, slaying yokai. I really like how nioh 2’s music isn’t as badass as soulsborne but it really fits the game and the scene. (Sorry for comparing to soulsborne it is famous for it is music)
Humans cant handle the hyper emotion that Yokai feel...so a half yokai blooded human is very dangerous... mythos wise Yokai are empowered by emotion and humans just arent prepared for Yokai levels of feels... so THIS is the result...

@@lycanbladefang4768 well that's why you equip lady raiko's armor to buff up the damage of sacred flight. I'd say the move us useful because it attacks the enemy from some distance an allows you to throw off the enemy if you use it at the right time.

So I practiced against him time after time for a week without items or spirits and damn he increased my skill in this game, I can beat him in dotst without items or spirits if I’m in the mood now and can still pretty easily beat him with spirits or items on dotd and now even dotw if I was determined.

funnily enough i created my character almost exacly like yours lol, its one of the female presets with some makeup and one of the eyes is a different color.
The elements immunity absolutely crippled my build, especially in DotD (I couldn't even beat him on DotW). I have a lot of "Scorched Enemy" buffs (Imakomei Set) and he just completely ignored it, cutting my damage down by like 60%, to the point that I tickled him when I attacked. But damn if it wasn't fun to fight him on DotD!
Maybe you'll get more profit by using Purity or Corruption instead? They both are an element too in terms of Confusion, but both have literally no resistant enemies
_archers and mounted archers, a small knife (the kind used for seppuku) with a medium blade (short sword) can be attached or tied to your bow, for quick use ..in case you run out of arrows, and Ork starts grabbing or trying to steal your weapon ..slash its fingers away, so the pain will break use of their hands, rendering them unable to disarm you.. a random melee weapon like that is great for self defense, so you can retreat_
hey man I had to on my mage...hes WAY too magic resistant lmfao and I was NOT about to tango 1 v 1 with his ass in melee combat...I 2 v 1's him to keep it somewhat challenging but not over the top ...still barely got him...
There's this running thing among the souls community; where some suggested coining a certain theme to your character-I accredit this not to just Yorimitsu and Yoshitsune, but it is yours as well, and what your enemies hear when fighting you.
Love how this song plays during the two best bosses in the game. Yorimitsu and Yoshitsune are the best.

I used mainly low stance and only switch to high stance once I proc confusion or zero ki.

there is a fight where you have to defeat her four guardians, then her, id recomment a splitstaff or swithglaive for that one
