Got plans for the final boss of my campaign to be an evil drow lich queen that actually turns out to be one of the party members mother. Long way to go yet but i look forward to the encounter, this soundtrack fits perfectly!
That actually has to be one of the most intense of the lines! So many epic encounters in this game arrrrhhhh XD No other game than DD makes you fear for your characters lives like that.

I am 33. I play since 1990 according to my parents. I play a lot, and always used to play a lot in the past as well. I experienced most of the mainstream consoles, as well as Neo-Geo, dreamcast, ps2 saturn snes genesis....pc gaming as well in the 90's... and let me tell you this straight: this game has one of the best atmosphere I have ever witnessed.
It leans hard into the Lovecraft influences, especially with the rich and vivid flavor text, does not hold your hand, and makes insanity a thing to fear more than death. This and Bloodborne do an excellent job at getting at that part of what makes Lovecraft's mythos so good.
0:16 is my favourite moment, especially when you are fighting in low light vs dozens of creatures, music goes like evil laughter of everything around you.

This though gives me Vietnam-style flashbacks to my inaccurate Houndmaster who’d end up sucking his own thumb if he fell into a barrel of tits.
It makes me mildly panic as suppressed memories of accidentally stumbling into Thing From the Stars in the middle of a Medium Long Weald expedition. My Level 4 Antiquarian and Grave Robber did not return from that expedition.
This really came in clutch in our D&D campaign when we got trapped in a single file corridor with a room full of 20 undead on one side and a horde of giant rats on the other side.
That moment when you are at low health and enemies are getting crits, while the stress is about to hit 100 in the next few turns, the light is low and you have to choose beetwen to try to scape or fight for the life of your heroes. This soundtrack is what you feel at that moment.

I was playing DND with my brother and friends and we were listening to the soundtrack and as we entered a dungeon a huge wolf monster started attacking us and this song kicked in when he popped out.
I love Mournvield Encounter as it gives me vibes of common first expirience of going there. At first music is stressfull but overall okayish as your run, blight is annoying but Vestal doing her job. Then you ran into a Unclean Giant whos holding a giant tree. At first he just spams mass blight. You resist some of it so you think he is not as dangerous as he seems. And then, when music kicks at 7:29 he crit smashes one of your party members with his tree. Woah! Hold on, I can still revocer! - you think, as next turn he useses confusion spores and your vestal goes front and leper goes back.
This song goes with about ANY RPG SYSTEM AND UNIVERSE you play. Played games since 5 years old, my first console was the Atari. I had SNES, megadrive, Dynavision, PS1 and 2, Dreamcast, N64, and i can say with no fear that this game was one of the best ones i've played in my entire life. The feeling of dodging and hitting, getting criticals when needed or death's door checks on the right moment are always like you have won the lottery. Getting all the achievementes in this game took me hundreds of hours and i loved EACH minute of it.

Me personal favourite is Return to the Warrens which only plays in low light battles. Hence I'd make as many low light warren runs as possible.
