Hi there! Nope, no need to swap batteries, just use a "dummy battery" and then you can stream or record for as long as you want! ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html

Hi! I came across this video when I'm thinking of using this to set up a video podcast. Question, do I still need the battery to power the camera or does the cable supply power to the camera? I'm kinda worried about it running out of power if the setup will depend on the camera battery.

I still have an issue with the HDMi connection for streaming. When I connect the cable, the LCD monitor gets black (all the video image goes to what I connect thru the HDMI). I need to see the image on the LCD monitor, so I (as cameraman) can see what I am filming. How do I fix that? Thank you!

You camera settings don't change based on where you are streaming or recording to. What is important is making sure that those settings match the ones you are using in your streaming/recording tool. 👍
Really wish my mark I had some of these (like a clean hdmi setting). Don’t think my work will be updating anytime soon. Webcam feature was a nice bonus for working from home.
I connected my original M50 to my Mac with usb and clear display so only thing left was auto focus. With ECAMM you don’t get the focus square and camera didn’t turn off. I don’t test it if I left the other information on screen but will.
Interesting. I just used usb with the canon software last year and it worked OK… As long as you don’t mind the square and lower resolution. I did pick up a cheap adapter on Amazon. Don’t recall how well that worked. But thanks for sharing @Victor! Hopefully that also helps others. And maybe I should rig it up at the office (since the camera went back even though we’re only in sporadically).

@Live Streaming Pros, I have the Canon M50 MarkII with the IFC-600PCU interface cable and the Elgato Cam Link. Cam Link has HDMI connection on one end and the cable has USB. How do I adapt to connect the two together to plug into my iMac? TIA. I follow all your shows 🙂
Thanks for the great video! Does the mark 2 slice and dice everything? Can you use 24 fps, 1080p, clean HDMI, autofocus at the same time? Canon really has a hard time hitting the target.
Can you not just use the HDMI cable and connect it to the hdmi port on your camera to the hdmi port to the computer and do it that way? Or does it have to go through usb to the computer?
I wanted to get a Sony A6100 but they are sold out everywhere so I started looking at Canon. Deciding between the M50 MKII or perhaps go FF with the EOS RP. The question I do have about the M50 MKII is about the auto focus - I read somewhere that the M50 MKII loses the auto focus feature when connecting with the cam link, do you know if this is indeed the case?
If I want a multi camera streaming setup will this camera turn off after 30 minutes? I just bought a atem mini pro and realized my M50 Mark 1 don’t work because no clean HDMI and they shut off after 30 minutes which is annoying. Looking to upgrade to the mark II but don’t want to if they shut off after 30 minutes.
The solution to that is a combination of the settings, which you can see in this video, and using a dummy battery. The dummy battery will let you record or live stream for as long as you'd like. I've done over 24 hours without any problem at all. You can check out this video for more information - ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html
I have this camera and came into the issue of it auto shutting off. To avoid that you need to have it plugged into the EOS utility no matter what. I use the Elgato Can Link and I also plug it I to the USB and run the EOS utility and that makes it so I can stream forever. This video is great cause I found some camera settings I wasn't using :)
So glad you found this helpful! 🎉 If you aren't happy with the quality you get from the EOS utility, you can use a capture card like the Elgato Camlink 4k and a dummy battery (ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html) - that combo will give you higher quality and unlimited streaming/recording time...👍
@@brogaming2704 do you think that may work with a T8i? Mine has autooff disabled but after 30 min it shuts off. Unless I half press on the shutter. Can you explain how you link both programs? Is it OBS and Eos Utility running at the same time? With cam link picked on OBS side?
Great video, it helped with a lot of question I had. However, I don't get to use my LCD screen as a confidence monitor when i plug in an HDMI cable. How can i see my footage on LCD screen when i'm connected to Elgato 4k Cam Link via hdmi?

hi, I just bought a canon M50 MKII and a dummy battery/adapter however when i plugged the adapter which is connected to mains power (which also means the battery lid can't be shut), it wouldn't turn on. A normal battery works fine however, how do i get it to work with the dummy battery? I'm sorry for being such a noob...
Is there a time-limit that, once reached, will shut off the camera? Can I literally keep using this camera as a webcam and stream 'til my heart's content?
Happy to help! You'll need to make the settings change mentioned in this video and add a dummy battery to the camera: (ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html) Then you can stream/record for as long as you want! 👍
My camera keeps going to sleep while I stream, it never happened with my usb but it’s happening with my HDMI. I have a canon m50 mark II and I use obs. How can I fix this problem?
Hi there, are you asking about the Mark 1? If so, that doesn't give clean HDMI without a lot of hacks and even then it's not really all that successful.
hello. Your video helped me by a lot. thank you very much but now i have a issue with dark bars on top and below of my image and i dont know how to fix it and it makes the screen looks expanded more than it should look like (im sorry for my bad enlgish)( i just can find an answer to that issue)
Hello there, hope you can help: in Shooting settings the menu just shows 5 screens not 9 as in the video: any idea to access those settings? Thanks a million :)
Make sure you're in the video menus, sometimes the dial doesn't click in all the way and we don't realize it. Or it could be a regional issue, you can check the Canon website for more info on that.
@@LiveStreamingPros THANK YOU! I think it might be because I have the first model of the Canon M50, and not the Mark II with the clean HDMI :(. Great video and again, thank you! :)

I cover that here: ruclips.net/video/aV-rgNB0EcE/видео.html and this might be helpful too: ruclips.net/video/x1vksodipHw/видео.html
I have the same question too.
You can check out this video for more information - ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html
great video!
does it have unlimited runtime? (for long hours streaming) or auto shut off?
I found that when I switched on the clean HDMI feed the camera screen became available too.
I have a problem. At 0:37 you show the submenu "movie rec quality" is greyed out like mine and i can't change it but then you show a different menu. Can you help me with that?
hi, I just bought a canon M50 MKII and a dummy battery/adapter however when i plugged the adapter which is connected to mains power (which also means the battery lid can't be shut), it wouldn't turn on. A normal battery works fine however, how do i get it to work with the dummy battery? I'm sorry for being such a noob...
If you haven’t seen it yet. There’s a flap on the bottom of the battery lid. Pop it open and there the port for the dummy plug.
@@Dj_Jwoo thankyouuuuu! helps a lot!!
what lens would you recommend?

Hello and thank you for keeping us up to date! One question…is it the same with the regular M50?
My camera keeps going to sleep while I stream, it never happened with my usb but it’s happening with my HDMI. I have a canon m50 mark II and I use obs. How can I fix this problem?
Happy to help! Are you also using a dummy battery? (ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html) That can also be helpful...
Could you use lease send me the link of the follow up video? Thanks!
Can you teach how to use method one?
Hi there, are you asking about the Mark 1? If so, that doesn't give clean HDMI without a lot of hacks and even then it's not really all that successful.
hello. Your video helped me by a lot. thank you very much but now i have a issue with dark bars on top and below of my image and i dont know how to fix it and it makes the screen looks expanded more than it should look like (im sorry for my bad enlgish)( i just can find an answer to that issue)
I have an efs 24mm "pancake lens", are the settings any different using that? thanks
In general, everything is the same, but it's also not uncommon for you to have to adjust some of the settings depending on your environment.
@@LiveStreamingPros thank-you so much! Your tutorial greatly improved my stream!
Oh, yeah, that's a bummer, wish they'd fix that!
I need help with finding HDMI cable for the canon m50 mark 2
Can tell me what HDMI is supported for the cam link cable ?
micro to hmdi
Hey,
Thanks for a great video you helped me a lot :)
Would have been happy to know how to turn off the definition of time on camera?
That I'm doing a broadcast disconnects me after 40 minutes
Happy to help! Are you also using a dummy battery? (ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html) That will solve that issue. 👍
You made me smile!
Another great video!
Glad you found it helpful! 🌟
I have a question, does the camera overheat or shuts off in the middle of streaming?
If you use a dummy battery, you can stream or record for as long as you want! (ruclips.net/video/z3RXEID5lZA/видео.html)
I connected it via the capture card and the obs does not allow me to put a resolution greater than 720x520. What could be the problem?
what camera were you using for this tutorial, the image is very clean plus you are gorgeous..
So... you don't pay attention to the titles of the videos you're looking at? You obviously didn't watch the video...
thank you for this - I have been looking to stream art tutorial videos with my MK 11 - this is very helpful
Glad it was helpful! ♥️
How can I connect the Canon M50 to my Black Magic Atem Mini Pro video switcher?
You'd want to get a micro HDNI to HDMI cable for that. Something like this: amzn.to/3KWxEUQ
