Yueyang is actually an Allen M. Sumner class DD which preceded the Gearing class. They did the bulk of the radar picket duty around Okinawa (remember the Laffey?). I actually built an RC boat of Sumner from plans back in the early 1970s. Still got that plan book in storage. iChasegaming did a video on the class back in October 2014.
As a casual observer and a non player, I love how you're always trying to find the positive aspects of every ship. You're displayed attitude is what keeps me coming back to watch a game I have no interest in playing but really do enjoy the the matches you show. Win, lose, mistakes, perfect, ECT, I enjoy your channel and the cerebral explanations of what, where and why decisions were made. Cheers!!
The other way I am using that TRB is launching second sets right behind the first ones wheb hydro BBs push with hydro active. They go full speed and slow down to dodge first sets of torpedos, but then second half hits them hard because BBs can't slow down and accelerate quick enough.
Instead of going all in with another gimmick, couldn't they have just returned the ship back to its renerfed state?
might have to try it! pretty much stopped playing so i researched most of my t10s more casual/ daily login player now. only have the des Moines and Kleber/Marceau lots of t8-10 prems i just yolo and have fun in now
Never played it as a torp boat; I'm using legendary mod and it was totally fine.
Me and our clan comander took our YY out held or pushed a flank back. 3 for 4....
There is a counter to DWT that any BB can use. That raises the detection range of them greatly
The legendary mod increeses your DPM by 20% and also consumable time by 20% for loss of 10% Cammo (5th slot), but if you play it with Radar (you push radar to 40sek time) you still stealthradar so I think this might be a realy good built now.
They might not be able to hit DDs, no, but they sure as hell give me a heart attack when I see a wall of skill appearing out of nowhere to my broadside DD, before accepting my fate, watching the torps... go right under me? ...and then feeling like an idiot for the rest of the game.
I think Chung Mu could be much more interesting choice, she was better than Yuyang before and should be easier to play now (radar boats on tier 9 are much weaker and have less dpm, u can easily dodge their salvos)
This question suddenly came to mind, since deep water torps don’t hit DDs, will DD wrecks block them?

What about legendary mod YY? It's 5th slot and buffs the reload on the guns, with the 6th slot gun reload module you ge pretty good gun dpm
would love to see what you thoughts on this ship with the new Unique Upgrade that reduces the main battery reload by 18% and adds 20% to either the radar or smoke!
