Against that Harugumo at the start, you should have used a volley or two or AP. The improved pen angles would have given you a huge amount of additional damage against him. The improved pen angle helps you avoid overpens against DDs (the ship appears longer in the direction of the shot, same tactic you use in BBs to avoid AP overpens on cruisers), but only when you exp[loit the angles. Next, with your two turrets in the rear, as you run away, you stay end-on and fire away at 12 km +. You need to save your smoke for the times you can actually farm with AP. I usually use HE for end-on running away or DDs who I have to fight that I can't use AP on (this is a failure of gameplay on my part, I am always looking to use AP). As you mention, the real problem is that you can't influence the round that much because the ship is a brick, with no special tools, but if you're not exploiting your gun's damage output, you accomplish even less. I prefer the Regolo to the Elbing, purely because it is more exciting to play.
In Elbing there is only ONE scenario where you should shoot HE: At a nose in ship. EVERYTHING else use AP (yes even DDs)
Higk risk, mediocre reward is how I describe this ship but I love it, most people don't know how to effectively fight you and think "oh i shoot HE" against your 25mm sideplate whilst I can get 6-9k full pen salvos if they're not full broadside, yes the HE alpha is meh but the fact the elbing gets half the dispersion of other dds means you barely miss shells, which gives CONSISTENT volleys, something I value alot.
edit: it has improved pen angles & greatly reduced dispersion aswell as the best velocity of dd shells so it is super easy to keep landing volleys as you hit a running ship.
After a long day of work, you can't imagine how happy it makes me to see a familiar content with a familiar narrative. Also I've been thinking of grinding Elbing lately so this is the cherry on top. Love the content you create PQ, and it's always joyous to go and say "Ah, PQ uploaded a new video!"
I find the super low torp speed combined with the range is actually a benefit and not a hindrance. You can surprise people by how long it takes for your torps to show up down a given channel.

The elbing is far from a bad ship, it wrecks dds and can donso at range, the only dds that don't take huge volleys from the ap are Japanese dds. Also in an Elbing I am always peppering the larger ships, those shells add up very quickly on BBs and Cruisers. I would definitely put the concealment back on.

The one thing it works good at is on the sides of the other team. Push it, it dies, get into a DD fight, it dies. It has been known to be run down by Georgias
PQ, can you help me understand why from time stamp ~20:36 - 22:04 you didn't fire your guns once to help kill that Pommern. Clearly the enemy were focus-firing on the allied Kurfurst. That felt very not good. I love your videos, but it is that level of passive that just kills me.
And between about 4:15 to 8:45 not a single shot fired. 2 BBs to farm but wanting to get torps on them. Oof.
Edit: and if you watch at the end of the match, he still gets comps somehow! I get reported when i play like that (not that I play like that).
This infuriated me cause he could’ve saved the GK or at least helped salvage some of his HP. Felt like he was just happy to complain rather than try.
This isnt the worst and not even bad, you just didnt really play at all nor knew and know how to play it.

@@MartinWTBJunk That's kind of the problem with the ship, though. It takes up a destroyer slot, but can't be played as a destroyer. With how critical destroyers are to the game, that's a net loss for the team, imo.
How is that a problem with the player and not the ship though? Clearly it should’ve been a light cruiser and not take up a DD spot.

It can be played as a destroyer but just more like a shima. You're going to lose 1v1 dd fights. But also like a shima if he actually used his ap and uelped his team when he wasn't center focus you can lay down a ton of damage. When you have to play DD for your team just do it with support
I've found great success with Elbing personally. I get main battery range, fearless brawler (sounds silly but you can play it effectively if you play smart) over conceal and with easy to lead shots I can farm comfortably from 12-16km. You can still dodge with elbing, you might take more hits but you can still take evasive action to avoid shots at those longer ranges. The extra hp pool also helps with this. I have a 65+% solo win rate in elbing with over 60 games so far and 100k average damage. You need to be using your guns A LOT, but at the right times. Generally not close near enemy dds and in areas where lots of enemy ships are. Also you can still chunk enemy dds for 5k if they get hit at the right angle. If a floaty shell dd is shooting, even a high dpm one I still take those fights if they engage me from far away. You can land so many shots easily with the arcs. You also shatter most he dd guns besides haru, z53, ragnar, which is huge. Don't sleep on Elbing, play it like a cruiser that plays semi close to caps but never as a regular dd trying to spot and torp and occasionally fire. It's true you can get screwed if you are the only spotter, but at that point just open up and deal damage.
You're div padding then. Simply not possible to get a 65% solo WR in such a shitty passive ship that can be beaten in a 1v1 by tier 8 dds
@@IlIlIlIlIlIlIIlIlIlIlIlIlIIIII I'm not though? currently it's 68.85% with 61 games in solo. It's a little luck as well. Funny enough my div win rate in it is 63% so no the divs aren't stat padding it. You aren't playing it right if you call it shitty. You need to deal high damage to make it effective, which the ship does well at if you aren't playing it like a standard dd.

Nope its not and you will not seek 1 vs 1 fight in Elbing. You are helping others, thats your main role to be support not DD killer. You can't do more demage in any other dd to broadside ships like with this one. It just chunks bbs for like 6k HP per salvo and can citadel cruizers even on longer ranges. If you think its fun for bb to lose 6k HP every 6 seconds...its not...so the have to angle to you and they will be broadside to your other ships.

I prefer using this line on targets that are already engaged. I do everything I can to not be the first option for the opponent. The guns are fun as heck! It's just a matter of spacing and using others as distractions.
Well put. That's exactly how to play this DD actually (I only play the Schultz). But zig zagging and getting enemies to shoot at you instead of your cruisers is also a legit strategy. And as normal in DD's, we should be trying to screen torps for our friends. It's a very unagile brawler, so it has to be treated with a lot of respect.
TBH I like seeing games like this when things go wrong because they give me a realistic impression of the ship.
During the derby last week got a 200k damage game. In the right situation it can be such a monster. Fun game.
I have the same problem with the Elbing. I'm too use to other DD play. I use torps more often like you did during your games.
I really like the Elbing although it is admittedly really difficult to get used to (especially if one is a fan of the really high concealment DDs). Both the Schultz and the Elbing work best for me when I don't stop shooting at maximum range (I never play in division) - I spot by being the target (up until recently my spotting dmg record was with Schultz - 291K). I cannot emphasize the >max range< enough, in order to save your HP. The shell speed is good enough to hit anything (struggling only with clever Marceau/Kleber captains).
I'm more of a gunboat guy (I think low detec DDs are just CV fodder) and I frequently use the Sherman and Kleber. Would you reccommend the Elbing?
@@veritas4887 If you don't have another line to grind - sure. I love the Sherman but I dislike the French DD line (I know they are good but I cannot make them work - even the Marceau just sits in my port). I would recommend the IJN gunboat line before moving to the Elbing - although different in many respects, I think that Harugumo's clumsiness is a good training platform before the Elbing xD
@@aRchAng3lZz I don’t think anything can be even more clumsy than a Sherman tho XD that thing just loves torpedoes I swear. I think I understand what you mean about the French DDs. People say they’re amazing but in reality their DPS (and gun angles) is so bad that open water gun boating becomes a terrible HP trade, and even if you island camp, their are just better DDs (Sherman) for that. However recently I had a sort of breakthrough with them. The thing is, moving with them is terrible, because they don’t turn enough or drift too much and you can’t disengage without eating a shit load of lead, or maybe you fly into the enemy while gunboating. It’s better to just full stop, and let speed boost and acceleration dodge everything. Try it, promise. Either that or you’re stuck with Marceau DD hunting.
It doesn’t really fix the DPS problem tho, but I guess it’s better than nothing.
@@veritas4887 I will try to implement your advice next time I give the French DDs a try. I know what you mean about the Sherman (it is one of the clumsiest DDs) but it is quite smaller than Elbing or Harugumo so you can sneak between torps more often :)
@@aRchAng3lZz There are way too many times in the Sherman when I thought I could drift the ship through some torpedoes so I slow down only to rediscover that the thing has the handling of a Colombo. It’s so slow it doesn’t drift or accelerate XD
Watching you play was paiinnnffullll. You looked a BB main playing this thing lol. 12-14km from anything with16km of range but not firing until the game was lost.
Elbing is a light cruiser without a citadel disguised as a DD. The guns are amazing. Flat arcs, good alpha and improved pen angles mean you should be using it 90% of the time. If a ships goes bows in, you farm the superstructure until it's saturated then switch to HE. But as soon as they start turning and aren't bow in, you switch back to AP and wreck them. Sure you lose DPM without fires but people tend to freak out and run when you start hitting them for 3-6k every 6 seconds. And they're only healing back half of it.
Excellent advice. Thanks for sharing, that's exactly how to play this ship. Though, it's safe to stay as AP nearly always. Even ships bow in, the accuracy is phenomenal, and the super structure hits are really easy to track at any angle because of it's heavenly-low dispersion.

When I first started playing last year in March 2022, the first ship line I went for was German DD, working towards Elbing, primarily cause I thought it was a good all-arounder and had decent AA. I stopped at the IX Schultz. Then changed lines to American BB Vermont, and the Shimakaze line, both lines which I am very happy to have completed. I was much happier with Shima, it's literally the best torp boat in the game, best cap contester, best+strongest torpedoes (12km ones).
When I play ranked, I often play my IX Schultz, and it's been fairly good to me in there, with 65% win rating at the time of writing this. The Schultz/Elbing have some of, if not, the most accurate guns in the game, so I don't even take accuracy on Schultz, I take turret traverse mod in the 3rd equipment slot. Main commander skills are: Grease the Gears, Fearless Brawler + Concealment, with Extra Heavy Ammun., and the standard Last Stand+Preventative Maintenance+Survivability. The other points you can put on whatever you want. I prefer the Fill The Tubes for the cooldown, as the standard reload is pretty good for 12km torpedoes. It's just sad that the torp speeds are some of the worst in the game (50 knots!) I feel the German DD line needs a bit of love from the devs. But then again, a lot of things need that in this game, particularly when it comes to aiming bugs/AA bugs, etc.
Elbing has a helluva AP for one destroyer, it is adored in the comunity. 8 kills in elbing, it is a nice ship.
Definitely hard to play. One "small" buff that would make it a bit more safe to play would be a personal hydro, 3km, like on the Daring. So you can farm in the smoke with a bit more comfort, since it's such a clumsy ship. Otherwise it means you only can safely farm at range.
Just angle the right way and you’ll be good

I always hear people talk about Hydro and how it should be added to this line past Gaede, but I disagree. It just needs better turning. It and the Schultz have nearly the turning radius of a battleship, which means you can't contest most caps at all, unless you approach in reverse and at an angle. Schultz is definitely the better ship.
Love this ship , also a critique when you where fighting the haru who was open water gunboating u could of just smoked up and fired at him , he was open water farming ur BB you had no need to lose the HP you did .
Please take PQ with a grain of salt. If it's not a BB that fits his style of play, PQ will likely not give it a ringing endorsement. Elbing is a great dd. One of the best in the game. Use it with Gunther Lutjens and it can be devastating. Elbing with Gunther on arms race even more so. Elbing has lots of health, great guns and great torps (slow but 13.5 range, 1.2km detection) with a fast reload. Great ship.
Yeah this was seriously hard to watch. He fired a total of 40 volleys with his guns over both games.
Elbing is better with more DDs in game. When you are one of only two, then you not only lose spotting, but you become targeted quicker when you are detected.
The biggest problem with Elbing is that she is a Light Cruiser in a DD slot. She can't perform the DD role of spotting/cap contesting that most other DDs are designed to do.
Now, you can get hilarious damage in her and win some matches. But it takes a lot of work to position well and your team not die horribly. She feels even more reliant on your team being competent than other ships. Which is not ideal for 'fun' gameplay in my opinion.
100%. It needs a buff to the turning radius. If it got that, this line might see more play. I still love my Schultz though. The german AP in the right hands is impressive.
I really wish theyd change the dd line into a CL line with a gimmick of having no citadel, it would make it so your not taking a dd spot while also giving a better understanding of the role.
I think the KMS line has many issues, but there are some standouts that make it worth is (although, after you've ground better lines). York is pretty solid at tier; Hindi is a standout to me, jack of all trades and all situations (albeit, master of none). Z46 and Z52 are still both quite good (especially former at tier). Bismark and Pruss, are both quite good (again, former at tier is the better). Seems like all the 150mm line need a hydro, though.
Elbing is a interesting ship. It's really a cruiser that takes a dd slot, similar to some cruisers that fudge the line between cruisers and bbs. The only area the elbing fails in comparison is taking out other dds.
I took it to ranked to knock off snowflake. Killed a Kleber in my Elbing, which was hillarious (seems like french aren´t immune to AP shots) :D
Yeah in 1 vs 1 mostly yes. But random is not about 1 vs 1 and when friendly dd or some other ship spot enemy dd, you can do massive demage to him even on longer ranges. And in killing bbs and cruizers on longer range, Elbing is best DD for that. Kleber is just running there shooting HE that will mostly shatter, but Elbing do massive AP demage they can't heal back. So for me Elbing is much better ship then for example Kleber which in flamu rating is best tech tree DD. Also has better concealment and smoke.
This ship is actually terrifying when played correctly. You can completely delete DDs and cruisers in only a few volleys.
Elbing's party trick is its AP (improved pen etc.) against broadside dds - that said it's not really that much of a party trick now with the itallian dds. Definitely miss manouerability when I'm playing the rather more stodgy T10 dds..
I just watched a Daniel Rusev video about Elbing. He was constantly shooting ap in the frontline when his div mates were under fire and spotting for him. I guess thats not a solo dd to play.
The thing is when I play Elbing the entire enemy team would prefer broadsiding 8 super bbs than let me broadside them

First game was rough with the 2v7 plus CV. Second game was a bit of a missplay not using AP and not opening up after haru went down.
Btw potato, the Elbingon console is the same ship, but its a tier 7 free xp premium(tier 7 on console is tier 8 on pc, the matchmaking formula on console is -1 +1, so the elbing will never face tier 10 ships on console as well

Well it's a german ship, so what do you expect? It's a cruiser that takes up a DD-slot. It might be interesting if it had a slow-acting superheal like the Sevastopol (if that's what it was called) which would make weakening enemy DDs more managable. If you could recover 40% your HP over a minute or so, you could take an early engagement and still remain effective
Full gun build captain, aft , bft , fbrawl, ar, se, Ap , reload on 6 th Slot and use lutijens ! Happy farming
I kind of like Elbing. You definitely not need BFT, that 5% increased dmg is not worth 3 points. Instead of priority target and BFT I like to takeconcealment and turret traverse. Elbing with full concealment isn´t such a huge visible brick and those few hundrer meters do a good job.
I even tried switching range for 4 points for RPF. 13,3km base range on Elbing guns is decent enough, you do not need to get spotted for 15km when firing back at anything ( = easier to disengage based on range = less pressure on your smoke usage) and maps are not too big to fully utilise those 15-16 km range on a DD - much better is information where your closest enemy ships (usually DD) is hiding and play accordingly. Because Elbing can ambush and AP to death lots of things.
This build you have is basicaly a Khaba build, but Khaba can go 50 knots, this thing cannot.

I’m a huge fan of the Elbing. But it isn’t a DD you can play alone. Second line with a DD div mate is incredibly strong, allowing you to zone and cover as both a DD and a CL. And the AA is no slouch either. I actually think it’s pretty strong, though not as fun as others, admittedly.
I disagree actually. I think it's very fun, not a great dd but a pretty decent ship. The damage she can output is pretty insane. Getting 6k salvos with only a 6 second reload gives me HUGE dopamine hits especially on multiple citadels
strong as a Damage farmer, Other than that it's pretty bad, It's also require other spotting to work. quite a selfish damage farmer but it's very good at that role
It’s fun if that’s your play style, yes. I enjoy the more “in your face” style of say a Daring. It is certainly decent, I average over 100k a match in it (I think, haven’t checked stats). As for being selfish, damage has to be done to the enemy. Is it selfish if it’s me doing the damage? It’s great for support.
Elbing's AA is pretty trash actually....not that the best AA destroyer, the Halland is any good. When attack planes come, you are going to get hit, no matter what you do, cz CV is well balanced.

Funny it has the size - guns - hp & speed of the Munchen ..... which is a CL in T7 ..... probably similar game play maybe ? Has smoke though .....
Personally, I love the Elbing, but you need a good team to make it work. I only have like a 45% WR in her, even though I'm averaging like 80-90k damage per battle. She just doesnt have the ability to do other things such as capping, scouting, or brawling with other DDs
Elbing takes great use of Lütjens, 140 hits for the reload buff and every 3 spotted ribbons a 3k heal.
Also should use more AP on DDs, you almost get as much dmg as an HE pen and if you get AP pens you just wreck them.
And with 16km range its not so hard to just pepper the enemys from a distance, while they have trouble hitting you acceleration duking them. You still do AP pens on this distiance, thats adding up to huge dmg quickly.
But you did neither, no long range farming or DD support, ok you had no DD to support or spot for you but still then you could have just rain AP on other ships^^
You were baseicly just playing torpedo boat xD, i would´nt like ships to, when i force them into a role they are not ment to fill.
Its not so diffrent from Harugumo playstyle, excapt you stick to AP.

Elbing is a good ship, but it's a bad DD. I wouldn't even classify it as a secondline DD, I would say that it's a super light cruiser without a citadel. You're not going to be actively hunting DDs, but you'll be able to destroy them if they're spotted, you can do the same to any broadside ship. You're not going to actively contest points against enemy DDs, but you can go in and grab them later on in the match with ease. Most light cruisers are getting hydro, but you essentially trade the hydro for no citadel. If you treat elbing like a mino / smolensk / kutuzov, you'll do well. You probably won't win a lot of games because your team is starting the match with one less DD, though.
For some numbers on builds, comparing your build to one that dropped PT and Heavy AP for Fearless Brawler but everything else stays the same, you are looking at;
While spotted 109k HE and 267k AP DPM on your build, 121k HE and 276k AP damage on Fearless No Heavy AP
While not spotted your build is the same, but Fearless and No Heavy AP is 109k HE and 248k AP.
A theoretical third build would be to drop Survivability Expert and pick up Heavy AP and Incoming Fire Alert or Gun Feeder that would get you;
While spotted 121k HE damage and 297k AP damage
While not spotted it would be the same as your build only with 3500 less HP. Considering you are still over 30k HP that isn't the biggest deal. Considering you are gaining an extra 30k DPM or 10k pen DPM on your AP when spotted, as well as an extra 12k DPM or 4000 pen DPM. Personally I'd go with this third build. (Also numbers are perfectly exact, I was just using the thousand digits for the maths to make it simpler to read, the actual bonuses are slightly higher as all of these numbers should have more digits in the hundreds slots.)
Also for reference if you go with CE over Fearless in any of those examples you get concealment down to 6.49km so not terrible just not a huge difference.
Edit: I feel Elbing is a great division DD if you don't have a Ragnar, it basically does what a Ragnar does but slightly worse and with a smoke in place of the radar and more HP in place of the heal. It doesn't seem to make for a great solo ship, as you are hyper focused into your guns. Suppose another way to put it, is Elbing is a more gun focused Black without the radar. Both ships have terrible slow torps, but good guns, Elbing is just more focused into it's guns and can be scary for BBs and heavily armored cruisers, where Black is only really scary to other DDs.
don't play it like a DD, play it like an AP smolensk. sit in smoke and farm, then run away.
Honestly I would have loved this line to be tanky with a heal and 4km hydro to be able to comfortably fight other dds and torp screen more effectively. The smoke is nice to have if you misjudge an engagement, but the DFAA really does almost nothing. Would really rather have tools to fight other dds rather than be a target for them.
PQ is a sexy rascal and nobody can convince me otherwise.
Elbing seems very Situational, I stopped at Schultz, Elbing is unlocked but I can't afford it. But I don't know if I'll bother with it. I say situational, as in you need your team to be doing well for you to do well. This is just my opinion however. Honestly wish they would've started making subclasses or something that take up their own slot in Matchmaking, for all these new ships they keep making that don't exactly fit their overly generalized roll.

Fun fact, in real life these ships were classified as “scout cruiser” and were meant for reconnaissance only since they were too fragile to fight cruisers and prone to be swarmed and destroyed by hordes of Darings, Jutlands, Fletchers and Gearings

The Elbing is a light cruiser hunter and needs to be played that way. Avoid fights against gunboat DDs, don't rush caps, find an island and farm until you see their cruisers, then go stealth and start hunting.
Which means playing a dd like shit. Meme div ship at best but there are better big dds to div with. It's shit because vatnik WG won't allow many good German ships
The one thing I disagree with you is not to fight other dds. You should shoot at everything, often. Make them turn and run, or make them focus you. Both good things, if you're playing the spacing right, you're actually kinda hard to hit when speed juking at the right range.
Just saying...the lower your gamma is in the setting, the better u can see the ships in a smoke or storm ;)
I don't play or build this ship as a DD at all. No concealment skills, second rudder mod, fearless brawler. It's not designed to contest caps, and trying to do so will just get you killed most of the time.
Though I will say, a lot of people forget the 25mm plating and improved accuracy, meaning you can take isolated engagements with some other DDs.
"I didn't do much this game" - story of my life lol. I play overly cautious most of the time when I know I shouldn't. My battle impact is not what it should be because of that.
My best decission: Spending the Free XP to get this ship, use it for snowflakes, and put it into a cozy harbor spot where it can rust in peace.

Don't know about Roon but Hindenburg is pretty good cruizer. But you can't compare them..its has bigger guns, hydro, spotter plane, much more HP, heals. It is just normal cruizer, Elbing is not.

I've noticed that whenever you play a ship with torpedo's you have a tendency to fire outside of the green area either to the left or right. It's not the worse tactic if you fire some to the left and some to the right. If you had fired in the green area on the Preussen you would have gotten a couple of hits. Then again I'm a NOOB so I'm probably completely wrong!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The area you are talking about is where you are going to get hits if the enemy ship continues its trajectory, PQ and most of the other experienced players try to predict where the enemy is going to go. This is why you see him firing outside of that area.

You are not a DD. heavily armored. range takes the pain away in hits while making them less likely to happen.
Prev. Maint. - Heavy AP - adrenaline rush - main batt. spec & expert - fearless brawler. Smoke is an escape plan. fire from the open at range. Get CE if you find yourself dealing with late DD but in randoms this is rare. SE feels more useful more often.
Typical long range tactics, fire on the move while changing speeds and rudder constantly, or sit there using start/stop/reverse .
Heavy reliance on spotting so it can be frustrating on a bad team.

@@Ett.Gammalt.Bergtroll Short answer, yes. I didn't make the boat, just explaining how it is best used. You are 3rd man support. A fight breaks out, you jump in and add massive DPM for your teammate. Torps to slow pushes and stop at bottlenecks.
@@Ett.Gammalt.Bergtroll Yes, same with sherman. Either u play it like a cruiser, or u die quickly... If matchmaking is right and u have a cv or other dds to spot, u can smash. When u are one of 2 dds on the team, with no cv and subs, then u are kinda screwed.
You fired HE. Literally forget you have that shell type and just go full AP. Even bow on BBs eat damage. Always fire AP.
While PQ does very well just look at the other DD's including that first Shima. At this point I don't know if players have so little understanding of the game that they think rushing a cap has to be done or if they really don't care and are fine dying over and over. I'm leaning towards horrible players who have zero game understanding or want to improve.
I've seen you play Austin to good effect so I don't understand why you don't play this ship the same. They basically have the same kind of mission. She's a light cruiser with good guns and solid torps. You can't contest against other DDs your true targets should be other light cruisers which you have an advantage against because they have a citadel and you don't.
In that second match, what on earth are you doing firing HE?! The Elbing's AP alpha is so good, that AP overpens do almost as much damage as HE regular pens. So even if only half your shells are pens, you do way more damage with AP. And you shouldn't be taking a fight with a Haru at short ranges, the improved HE pen will chew you up; the Marceau on the other hand you will embarrass in a duel, as her HE will shatter on your armor, meanwhile your high velocity shells will have no trouble punishing her no matter how she tries to dodge.
Elbing is such an awesome ship. I really loved mine. Wish WG didn't fuck the game up that made me not want to play anymore.
You are blaming Elbing that it doesn't perform in scenarios other DDs do, but never try playing for its strength (good AP, high range, pen and velocity). That's like saying St. Vincent is bad because no matter how hard you tried brawling you got killed.
No shame in looking up info on ships even when you are a good player, do that, try it again and enjoy how well Elbing can perform.

i mean, PQ thinks he has the responsibility to carry the team, but as long as he is on Elbing its kinda impossible to determine W&L. So just play as a pure farmer that has nothing to do with the victory.

you play it really badly .....use AP .....you shotin HE on harugumo WTF that thing eating FULL AP dmg and anlbing have even improve angles .....when enemy DD slightly angles to your AP then will full pen .....elbing is good, regolo is even beter when you know how to play this ships

Elbing is a DD which excels at using AP, it´s only natural to spec heavy AP.
@@slin8742 did you not read the rest? He fired his guns 40 times through two matches. 40. That's fewer than a BB over the same amount of time. Is that good DPM for a gunboat DD? How am I a nuisance when I state facts and ask questions?

@@slin8742 you aren't understanding what I'm saying at all. Put the ammo type out of your mind for a moment. He fired his guns 40 times over two matches, that's what matters. Theres nothing about luck when you don't fire your _guns_ in a _gunboat_ .
For some context, we'll say he had a reload of 4 second's (which is impossible to get unless you're dead), with 40 salvos. 40 x 4 = 160 seconds. So for less than three minutes he was firing, over two matches. In a gunboat.
You can't complain about how a gunboat is bad if you don't use the guns.
@@AdamtheRed- this isn't a Marceau where u can fire HE on any target disregarding the angle. you have to wait for opportunities or create them, which results in not shooting all the time.
in my personal opinion, Elbing is too situational (focusing on AP), which let it seem "bad" in comparison to other gunboats.
he also got 80k and 100k, these arent bad results for a DD, damage-wise.
