Nice! Why did you put the ceramic pup in the neck position? Shouldn`t it usually in the bridge position?

You are absolutely right, I think I might've just labelled them wrong as I did install them according to the provided diagrams🤔

How do you install them with a 2 pod guitar? I thought you need a 4 pod guitar

You don't need 4 pots. Fishman also provides wiring diagrams for 2 pots.

I'm pretty sure there is no "Voice 2 single coil". This video makes it look like there are 4 voices, but in fact there are only 3.
On a different note: have you tried playing around with the coil select terminals? I noticed that on my alnico pickup, the neck side coil is much louder than the bridge side coil. Even emailed Fishman about it, since the neck side coil seems even louder than voice 1 and voice 2.

I started noticing this as well, watching this back. Need to take a closer listen to see if there is anything there, but think it is 3 Voicings.
I haven't played around the terminals just yet. Fishmans in general are still a little new to me and definitely have a lot more to learn on their capabilities.

Great tones bud. I have seen that ceramic pickup is written installed in the neck position while alnico in the bridge? Is this correct or just typo error?
I’m interested to learn the diagram because I have a spare KSE Alnico and planning to have a 1 pickup (bridge position), 1 volume control with access to all 3 voices. Any thoughts if this is possible?

Thanks! You did read correctly that this set has both, the ceramic and alnico.
The diagram for how I set this guitar up is in the install video. In order for you to get all 3 voices out of that setup, you would need a secondary on-off switch (like a mini-toggle). The singular volume in your example would only provide 2 voices, so getting the third is something that you'll need to route elsewhere.

@@IPGuitars oh, i see. Aren’t you follow the recommended Ceramic (bridge), alnico (neck) set up by fishman?
Yeah, I think I have to get a toggle switch for that. Thank you. Your installation vid helps me a lot to learn more about guitar electronics. Cheers!

@@paulantoc WHOOOPS! This is why I shouldn't answer questions before a cup of coffee in the morning. You're right, that is in fact a typo in the video. Bridge should be ceramic and neck is alnico.
And glad to hear that you've found the video helpful :)

@@IPGuitars Gotcha, What do you think of Modern Alnico in the Bridge?

    • @IPGuitars
      @IPGuitars  2 года назад +1

@@paulantoc I mean, totally works. It's just a difference in tone, with Alnico being a little warmer in sound. But many dig that over the Ceramic's bright/bitey tone. Just a matter of personal preference, but will work just as fine either way.
If you have a set of pickups like this, Fishman of course recommend putting the higher output and brighter pickup in the bridge. If you have the option of either or it's just a matter of what you're looking for tonally :)

I am so thankful to hear these pups played without a frenzied, demonic, neurotic metal sound, may our Lord God and Savior bless you brother.
