Your best tone yet, mate!
Its like a printed circuit in stead of wound copper wire coils. Like in amp and other electronics circuitboards now a days but they stack the circuits around the magnets. So u can switch between an active kinda sound like EMG style and a passive like Seymours or something. They also make a set where u can switch between 80's hard rock les paul sounds and vintage on the same pickup. One word: Awesome

I gotta see how the Lace Bill Kelliher's Dissonant Aggressors sound when I get my les paul but if I'm not completely satisfied I will install these asap.

You can tell you enjoyed writing and playing those riffs. They are fantastic sounding pickups. They're the first pickups I've heard that immediately sound like the player they're designed for.

I tried the Devin Townsend set, and they weren't for me. The EQ was way too flat. This review was cool. They sounded big and chunky. I sold off the Townsend set and took a bath on them. I had to drill out the holes for direct mount. I well, that's why we have options! Great jam!

Hey Agufish, could you PLEAZE PLEAZE PLEAAAAASE do a review of the fender dave murray strat. I know its got a floyd which your not a huge fan of BUT, you do have a strat and its not as foreign to you as something like an ibanez with a mega thin neck. Shouldnt be to far off from the jim root guitar you did. Massive fan of this channel btw

Brought a set of Fishman Fluence Modern couple months ago and had the same problem as you, neck pick up was completely dead. Sent them back and got a replacement. Ive got no reason too hate Fishman.

Lol, shhhhh don't tell people I respond on Instagram... I have like 50 requests on there, but it's such a pain to respond on my phone. But yeah these pickups are absolutely incredible. I used them on the Precision Drive and Joyo Zombie demos as well. They are killer, killer pickups!

Whoops, forgot to put an explanation in the description. Unfortunately it doesn't look like this signature set is on the Thomann site yet, so I just put the Modern set. It's what Willie was previously using and is still found in his LTD Warbird. I'll update the link once Thomann starts stocking the set!

This vid makes me miss my wa-600. I had the older camouflage version w duncans & sold it, partly because the finish just got exhausting to look at every day haha, also I decided to be a full time Gibson fanboy. Ironically it took me forever to figure out the adler specs are what I was looking for in a les paul (seymour duncans with slim neck).

I dont know about the 200 other than its bolt on, while 600 is set thru w locking hardware for super fast string chamge. Ya id personally hold out for a 600 instead of spending heaps of $$$ on mods. Probably cheaper in the longrun.

As always, excellent video and thoughtful opinion. When are we going to get some Dean guitars? I just bought myself a Dime Razorback as a early end of deployment present, and I just like the crazy look. Prior to this deployment, my girlfriend gave me a Dave Mustaine Angel of Deth for my birthday and aside from my Gibson Custom Shop ZV and Chapman ML-3RC, it has become my favorite guitar for the feel of the neck, sensible output jack for a flying V type, and crazy high output pickups (I can make a Victory V40 Dutchess break up with no overdrive or boost pedal with it). Just think some Deans would be cool, because they look really different without being overly tacky.

lol how in the world did I forget to mention that... in the package it comes with replacement pots for active pickups, two of which are push-pull. You just pull the one you've wired up to change the voicings for Voice 2. In the default position you're using voice 1.

Hey man awesome demo!! I have a question I hope you can help: I own an ESP with Fishman Moderns and I love the active voicing however I find Voice 2 (passive) a bit smooth. I am getting a new LesPaul and I'm thinking of using the Will Alder set in it: does the Passive voicing (Voice 1) sound better on them compared to the passive of the Moderns (Voice 2)? Also, does the "Modern" sound (Voice 2) on Will Alder sound as good as the Modern voicing on the moderns (Voice 1)? Thanks a lot man, keep doing great videos!!!

I mean in this guitar I have the EMG´s James Hetfield Set but I had to buy the long shafts, because the shafts that come with the JH set are short. How come no mention of the fact that you have to get long pots for these pickups? I ordered some and found out that they only come with short pots. Everyone I've seen test these has them in Les Pauls or guitars that need long pots. Waiting to hear back from Fishman on mine since my guitar is now ripped apart just sitting around waiting to put these in!! Ughhhhh

Do these use standard pots and switches or do they need proprietary ones?
Also, do these still work when the battery starts dying (only 200hrs!!) or do they just suddenly stop working
Yeah they're freaking killer! They use a standard switch, but use the same pots/output jacks as other active pickups like EMGs. Thankfully, the Fluence sets come with everything you need.
As for the battery, that's a question for Fishman themselves since I haven't put in 200 hours of playing time yet lol. If it's anything like EMG, eventually they'll just start sounding dead, you'll lose high-end and definition, and you'll definitely know it's time to replace them before you get no sound whatsoever. Also I believe the 200-hour stat is just for the optional rechargeable battery pack, not a standard 9V battery, but I could be wrong.
