This is really cool and a great “song”. I give the Classics the edge on the crunch and that’s why I put them in my guitar about a year ago. I’m curious what’s your gear setup for Rock Riff 2? Love that sound. I have a JCM 800 Combo I bought in 1989 and a Boss SD-1. Hopefully get it dialed in. I need a load box to bring out the essence of that amp. Great playing technique BTW.
Thank you so much for the kind words my friend, really appreciate it! For this particular demo I used ToneX, and the rock riffs are a capture of the Friedman BE100 going into greenback impulse responses. I wish I had the real amp tbh, but for now this is very convenient :). Nice one mate, a load box is indeed very convenient for amps like the JCM800 that sound the best when they’re cranked, I have a powerstation by fryette and highly recommend it 🍻

Hi mate, thank you. I actually really liked the Epiphone Fluences, personally I wouldn't change it. I like the moderns but much prefer the set that comes with the Epiphone Prophecy, voice 2 on the Prophecy gets quite close to the moderns if metal is what you're going for 🍻
how would you say the fluence modern compares to tim hensons new fishman signatures? one of the best pickup comparison vids ive ever seen btw, great content.
Thank you so much mate, very cool of you! I haven’t tried the Tim Henson set yet, but on paper the humbucker voicings seem to be closer to the fluence classics on voice 2, so probably with less output than the moderns but for the single coil tones it seems to be its own thing and I’d expect a lot more clarity and brightness there, hope that helps🍻
I just bought an E2 Eclipse with the Classics, and in my heavy gain Amp set up they sound amazing. I want to switch to the Fishman open core moderns, but I don’t know if I really need to because they sound amazing. I play heavy progish metal.
Hi mate, that’s a tricky one, I haven’t played the open core moderns but from what I gather they’re like ceramic moderns just with improved singlecoil/split tones. I much prefer the tone of the classics even for metal, the only disadvantage is that they’re a bit noisy in comparison to the moderns. 🍻
@@gabriel_guitar I’ve used Dimarzios for years and coming over to the Classics, it’s like night and day with the noise, the Classics have almost no noise for me in my practice set up. I haven’t put them through loud amp yet though.

Excellent playing man, love the demo! I have the moderns but would love to get the classics in another EC at some point! What are you using for tones? Your mixes sounds epic as well
Thank you so much mate, very cool of you, really appreciate it. For tones I used a ToneX EVH stealth capture for the metal rhythm section and a capture of the Friedman BE100 for the rock stuff. Cleans and Lead Tones are the Neural DSP Soldano plugin. Happy to share presets if you have any of these plugins 🍻
Good job! Someone told me Fishman Open Core CLASSIC do not really work well with thicker strings like 12-56 for instance. Did you have an opportunity to check that out? What gauge do you use with these pickups? Thanks
Thanks mate, really appreciate it! Unfortunately I haven’t tried lower tunings and thicker string gauges with the Open Core Classics yet, I have a regular set of 10-46 on that guitar. I’ll report back if I get around to change the strings for something heavier 🍻

Ha, for sure mate, in comparison to most passives, the classics are very quiet 😁
These are always a pleasure to listen to dude. Thank you. Hard to decide on this one personally.
Thank you Simon, really appreciate it my friend! Same here, hard to decide :)!
I'm wanting to try something different with my Wolfgang which has the USA Wolfgang pickups in it and I'm thinking about the fluence classics..think I'll be happy with the switch?
Hi mate, I think they'd work great, very versatile pickups that feel great to play. Used to have a Japanese Wolfgang with the American pickups too, I ended up replacing the bridge pickup with a Dimarzio Crunch Lab, but looking back the classics would have been a better option. 🍻
Thank you very much for the response..I'm a metal player primarily and your video sold me on the classics..I'm going to order the set and throw em in the Wolfgang..I uses to have a Wolfgang with Crunchlab also lol..also a nice pickup
@@trumancarter1299 haha, that's quite the coincidence! Right on man, the crunchlab is a really cool pickup too, very tight sounding.
My pleasure mate, let me know how it sounds on your guitar when you get them installed 🍻
@@gabriel_guitar amazing! Thank you!
@@gabriel_guitar thanks for reply, hope to hearing from you. Good luck in your future endeavours!
Nah that's rubbish. I have them on a 7 string and they work very well.
Nice dude!
Thank you my friend, really appreciate it 🤘
🤘😎🤘
🤘🏻🍻🤘🏻
For lead shred player modern or classic ?
I'd say classics, I just prefer them for most styles tbh.
