specifically, the way it works is for every 2 points you put into intelligence, at any time, you get an extra skill point. if you put in 10 points when you first make your character, you get 5 skill points extra to start with. if you start with 5 int you get 2 extra at start, and then if put a point into it on your 10th levelup.. you get one extra skill point.

From mthe glimpse we got, those pregenerated charas seem to have some meat to them. Does anyone know if they have stuff like unqiue lines or even unique quests kinda like divinity original sin 2?
I’ve heard they are just flavour text like the majority of npcs from wasteland 2, no unique choices or quests to do with them. But this is just taken from the one other review I saw.
uh, survival doesn't reduce the number of encounters, it reduces the number of encounters you can't escape from. large difference. now you get the option of avoiding the encounter instead. which 9/10 (combat encounters) you probably will want to do, since you really don't need the extra xp, and most the things you get from randoms are junk.
That quote from brian Fargo just undermines the Inherent moral good that we have. Whether you believe in natural theory or not there are many cases where there has been hard circumstances and people have banded together to help one another. The nihilist view is simply the easiest to take.

Since when don't horror and comedy go well together? They are actually well known for being two genres that DO work well together. There are 100's of great movies, everything from Evil Dead 2 to Gremlins, that prove that Horror and comedy are a perfect match.
What I like about your reviews is they vary from game genre's, I had a problem finding a reviewer like you. Alot of them just cover types they really love like FPS or what ever genre they do. Iv bin watching awhile to, but I felt like I should say this now, even if you never see this. :p
I have long been a serious fan of Bryan Fargo, one of the longstanding visionaries in the gaming industry. With the exception of Cyberpunk this is the main game I have been looking forward to in 2020. PS; long overdue but am now a sub. Keep up the excellent work.
I don't have issues with performance, but I'm running on 1440p, not 4k. With everything on Ultra (a few things like Motion Blur turned off) I am easily over 60fps at all times (1080 Ti and a Ryzen 5 3600)
I love how you can create any number of rangers and can basically switch out your main characters if what you built isnt optimal. My advise make some "mules" like barter, or modding. I made a couple rangers just to switch to for selling/buying. Full intellect for skill points and pointdextor because only useful in b/t missions
"Full intellect for skill points" uh, that's only 5 total skill points. you don't make a full int character for skill points, but rather to increase your crit chance.
Wasteland 2 had game breaking bug, after over 100 hours of playing and meticulously building my custom characters I became stuck in a battle where it was the enemies turn, but the enemy was bugged out in infinite loop climb up and down a ladder. The game saved during the fight and every time I loaded the game the same enemy would get stuck on the same ladder. No way to continue and my last save was hours before. I gave up on waste-of-time 2.
Thank you Karak, another amazing review. I was apprehensive because like you, sometimes its difficult for me to maintain investment in titles using the isometric view, but you made this sound like it would be engaging.
@@shaycormaic5365 Because there are some crpgs with voiced protagonists that only have lines for preset characters. Divinity for example has voiced lines and entire storylines for premade characters while custom ones don't.

Been trying to play it since it dropped via Gamepass on PC. I'm one of the sad ones who can't get a work around for the no save issue. Waiting on a patch. I think I'm biased for this game though, I live in a city called Pueblo which is the next major city south of Colorado Springs. I've never played a video game that took place in my stomping grounds. HZD was close, but it was more northern.
I've been looking forward to this for months. I pre-ordered it in February as a birthday present to myself (Before it was announced that delays would make it come more then a quarter of a year after my birthday instead of around my birthday) Wasteland 1 was the second RPG I played and I can't wait to see what we face in Colorado. I wonder how many new guns there will be in this one? 2's gun inventory was weird because some of the guns from the first game were missing and there were World War II era guns refit for different ammo types added.
I love your reviews, I tried this game on the Xbox game pass and instantly bought it on ps5. It runs great, 1 glitch in 40+ hrs. I have 40+ hrs and it hasn't felt that long. This game has drug me in and won't let me go. I lose 2 or 3 hrs easy playing this game. I definitely should have gotten it at launch
I lost you at "Horror", and then you spoke a million words within minutes. I guess that means buy? Your excitement makes me want to play it! No but seriously, really well done review Thank you very much
The game looks solid. Hopefully it won't go stale as Wasteland 2 was at times. Also some of the skills in Wasteland 2 were objectively more useful than others, but you could not know that until you've already put some hours into the game(or read a guide). It was made with the Unity engine which explains the performance issues. The 2nd one was the same way - it made the CPU and GPU work harder than it had the right to do so compared to the graphics quality it offered.
Almost 2022, and this game is still busted. Broken coop, particle effe ts that spike the computer, encounters that aggro the entire map (Denver Ruins), audio bugging out and dragging the performance, random encounters that doesn't trigger combat forcing a reload of an older save, and more. This game has some bad design, as well as performance issues that were never addressed. I'm a bit disappointed in how so many reviewers failed to inform players of it's problems. So thank you for actually mentioning them. Matty sure didn't.
I noted your usage of a controller alongside that tab input problem. Did you play through on console? Do you know if there's still that same lag on a PC with an SSD?
In all seriousness there were no repercussions for like 99% of your decisions in Wasteland 2, the game was very VERY light on the RPG part of cRPG, sure there were choices you had to make between missions and those had consequences but the dialogue trees were very basic and there was little to no reactivity, which is what Fallout 1&2 are known for. I was disappointed by Wasteland 2. I'd like to hear reviewers talk about how Wasteland 3 stacks up.
intelligence doesn't determine how many skill points you get per level in wasteland 3. every two points of int, you get one extra skill point to be used once, not extra skill points every level up.
in lord of the rings the actor who plays golem also did many orcs voices also and there are actually scenes where he is talking to himself as different orcs
I think i'm gonna wait for some updates later down the line. Something about the asthetic rubs me the wrong way when compared to Wasteland 2 (which i liked). I'm sure they can iron out the technical stuff eventually through patches. What worries me most is the obvious consolification though. That inventory thing would drive me nuts. Guess somebody has to remind me in a year or something.

Playing 2 now, does 3 also require you have a “toaster “ guy on backup or do the 5 you get cover the needed skills?
I highly recommend making your mechanic your toaster repair men because you're gonna wanna specialize that trust me it's gonna help you keep your pockets not packed but better than being empty
"So i whipped out the ole smoke wagons and proceeded to cannon hole em in the guts" LMAO, pure literary gold.
From mthe glimpse we got, those pregenerated charas seem to have some meat to them. Does anyone know if they have stuff like unqiue lines or even unique quests kinda like divinity original sin 2?
Wondering the same. There seem to be many of them for them to have a lot of bespoke content, but unique lines would be nice.
Got the definitive edition for 16$ on psn. Pretty amped to finally play it! Deep deep sale baby woo!
I was one of the lucky ones to catch it on flash sale too.. Finally picking up the first one to complete the trilogy brought me back here.. Now to find the time to put all the necessary hours in
The way you said "Annie Lennox" sounded like "Aunty Linux" which would actually be a really cool name for an artist.
Yes 😂
Or a distro.
PlayStation player here so I don’t have game pass and Android. Will definitely wait for this game to be on sale. Looks great 👍
Damn, no decent pc either?
So hyped for this game. Wasteland 2 was so much fun.
I wish you talked more about the coop experience in this game. Great review as always!
Since when don't horror and comedy go well together? They are actually well known for being two genres that DO work well together. There are 100's of great movies, everything from Evil Dead 2 to Gremlins, that prove that Horror and comedy are a perfect match.
@stirange Gremlins 2 is good too, its not as good as the first one, but its a fun movie.
I trust every review you do. You need to be the top reviewer online period. And your shirts are amazing
"Of course taking place after wasteland 2, hence the title..."
Please have a talk with red dead, lol
I think you mean 'Red Dead'
You can't read when you're dead, but you can be red when you're dead.
I think you mean Read Deed
This is a sequel because the 2nd is 2102 and this one is just a few years after that because it's talking about the events of the 2nd game
What I like about your reviews is they vary from game genre's, I had a problem finding a reviewer like you. Alot of them just cover types they really love like FPS or what ever genre they do.
Iv bin watching awhile to, but I felt like I should say this now, even if you never see this. :p
5:14 Wait a minute🤣🤣
I have long been a serious fan of Bryan Fargo, one of the longstanding visionaries in the gaming industry. With the exception of Cyberpunk this is the main game I have been looking forward to in 2020. PS; long overdue but am now a sub. Keep up the excellent work.
What a great way to start the day! Thanks for your always excellent and enjoyable reviews. I will get this just to have the chicken bodyguards.
You're videos are always top draw, always smile at your content. Love the one liners and the no nonsense reviews
Will check it out, never played Wasteland series before, but this one has co-op which I'm after
Why doesn't the steam page show that it has full or partial controller support when I clearly see that it does have controller support here.
My anxiety just shines with that stat system.SOS.
I don't have issues with performance, but I'm running on 1440p, not 4k. With everything on Ultra (a few things like Motion Blur turned off) I am easily over 60fps at all times (1080 Ti and a Ryzen 5 3600)
Just got the gamepass too, looking forward to this one :D
Btw, intelligence does NOT affect the amount of skill points you get per level, it's a one-time bonus.
Solid review man! I have been looking forward to playing this for some time, 2 more days!
@Karak - Did you have the UI zoomed in? There are times in the video where UI elements are huge.
damn those graphics look like they're not supposed to give a 2080ti any trouble. I hope the optimisation is patched up
As long as the gameplay is great.
@@thomasneal9291 it's a mule. Only meant to be used in ranger hq
You’re the only reviewer I trust nowadays !!! Thank you for your reviews !!! You are amazing 😉
Thank you Karak, another amazing review. I was apprehensive because like you, sometimes its difficult for me to maintain investment in titles using the isometric view, but you made this sound like it would be engaging.
love your videos man!!! never stop. best one out there hands down.
(for reviews)
Are the custom characters voiced?
Dumb question why wouldn't they be lol
@@shaycormaic5365 Because there are some crpgs with voiced protagonists that only have lines for preset characters. Divinity for example has voiced lines and entire storylines for premade characters while custom ones don't.
The work ethic of this man Karak is astonishing.
Michael Patterson he is a legend
Hey, just found your channel as I was looking for reviews of this game. You're fantastic! I love the guided review system you have and how much of game-time you invested before giving a verdict. Easy subscribe, thanks again!
Ugh, that stat system gives me a headache.
Its alot

Profile picture checks out
it really excites me
6:04 dude sounds like he should be yelling "Snap into a SlimJim! oh yeah!"
I didn't like Wasteland 1 and 2. But the graphical upgrades and presentation has me excited for this 3rd installment.
booo !!! (kidding) wasteland 2 was fucking amazing!
Were graphics really the only obstacle?
This is my second most anticapated game behind cyberpunk for this year.
CAAAAAANT WAIIIIT!!! hope i win the giveaway and that'll make 28th this years christmas
Playing on X-Box One, I've had multiple game crashes opening the inventory menu.
No but seriously, really well done review
Thank you very much
The game looks solid.
I just got it for sale $13 today. Thank you for the recommendation.
This channel never fails to provide the best review possible.
Will probably pick this one up soon.
intelligence doesn't determine how many skill points you get per level in wasteland 3. every two points of int, you get one extra skill point to be used once, not extra skill points every level up.
in lord of the rings the actor who plays golem also did many orcs voices also and there are actually scenes where he is talking to himself as different orcs
Man, I was going to snooze on this one, but your review (and the gameplay footage) now reeeeeally makes me want to get it!
I just want to take this time to say you are by far the best game reviewer I've listened to.
