      I honestly play the games with the mindset that I am the commander, not the soldiers - I'm just telling them what to do, but they're autonomous entities. I guess it comes down to how you roleplay the game!

      33rd Antifa Regiment I would say it’s easier to get into than Pillars. Turn based combat, better leveling system, more fleshed out characters, character creation is top notch
      But

    THIS is the game I've been waiting for. There's an area in Wasteland 2 where you encounter 2 factions in conflict. There are many different outcomes to achieve, but the only way to get the ultimate peaceful outcome takes analysis and multiple negotiation trips and certain party skills. You have to pick up on some very subtle clues to even realize this outcome existed. I didn't achieve it, only reading about the possibility later. If there is any crpg you want to experience with hardcore rules in play,(no reloading, accept all outcomes and character deaths and move on,) Wasteland is it.

    The encounter start thing highlights a major weakness with round based group combat in general I feel. It technically would make a lot more sense if each individual group member and enemy involved in the encounter had their own turn determined by their initiative, so instead of the group that has the fastest individual character basically getting off a rounds worth of free attacks, the fastest characters would be the ones to act first and the slow ones the ones to act last.

  • @Bikeadelic
    @Bikeadelic 4 года назад

    In regards to combat:
    Use the control to command your team individually so you can position them at cover ready for a fight. Then make sure you attack without your initiative guy. Best to use a sniper for options.
    try and find choke points like corridors. Position most of your team near the entrance (inside), crouch them and have them set to ambush. Have one or two of your dudes out front to attack from stealth to set the enemies off. Then retreat into the corridor and work back down it. As they come in you can use your explosives guy, flamers and machine gun special kills to take out their bunched up group. If you stagger your guys into two separate lines you can protect yourself from the same treatment.
    Honestly cant stress how easy it is to win when you are drawing them out of the tinny doorway you came in trough rather than having to clear the room.

As someone who is currently playing the game, I was trying to figure out this character (whether he was in fact genuine, what he is willing to do and why) and this kinda gave it away.
