Ngl, I was kinda worried after seeing the teasers. But then I remembered "you dumbass, when has Starship ever released teasers that truly represent the song?". And I'm glad they kept the tradition. 'Heya' is THAT song for me! It gets better the more I listen to it. The MV is also amazing. They obviously worked hard to combine all the different elements and ideas. I also liked the styling. I mean the girls are gorgeous, but they all suit this late 90s-00s style.

This has to be my favorite IVE comeback. I might be suspicious to say this because this is the only cb that I've interacted with since the begining, but I just love all the songs from 1st listen, it feels like the songs are connected (like, track 1 & 2, track 3 & 4, track 5 & 6, they just go really well together). Haeya did remind me of MX's Love in the end of the chorus. Accendio gives me MX vibes along Ariana and Love Dive. It becomes a beautiful 2nd gen blend(the song it reminded me of the most is Pandora by the iconic group Kara). Blue Heart gave me Odd Eye Circle(the Loona, now ARTMS sub unit) vibes. The chrous reminded me of Loonatic which a b side by OEC. Ice Queen is kinda Ariana coded. WOW would be such a cute song to hear as an encore.

I loved the album but I personally didn't enjoyed the title track except for the bridge part. OHHHH THE FAWKING BRIDGE. the slightly Korean traditional singing style melodies in bridge were ugh they did this guys. The rest was very much meh to me. That heya heya heya chorus could have been better but I guess it's up to your personal taste. It might grow on me in the future. Also the concept photos deceived me so bad I thought maybe they would release something like dark academia, anti-pop or maybe gothic visual kei type of stuff. But they did really well with this Korean traditional concept. It was amazing. I want to kiss the set designer, their costumes designer and the overall creative team that came up with this idea. They ate with this comeback. Btw imagine if they actually released music like some visual kei have, that dramatic sound with pretty melodies and amazing and rich instrumentals ugh. They can easily eat that concept and sound up. No doubt. Heya's instrumentals didn't sticked out to me but their vocals and rap parts still shone despite that instrumental. Idk it's my opinion but heya could have been made better of they went all out on traditional instrumentals. Amazing album.

Overall this is a very unfulfilling and highly compositional sounding album in the sense that the songs highly rely on the motives of adlibs and samples. This might be one of the weakest albums in their discography imo. The tt itself sounds fine and I enjoy the final chorus where everything sounds fully fleshed out. However, the verses and the chorus sounds sparse and uninteresting. With the weak and underdeveloped 'Heyas', these adlibs cause the track to sound repetitive and they hinder the listening experience because of the repetitive nature and they don't hold much substance and punch to them. They also sound as if Ryan S Jhun had created this chorus line in a second, ruining the potential and it could've been more fully fleshed out in its ideas. I also think throughout the track, the mixing sounds harsh and muddled as the vocals don't have a clean crisp sound to them. As for the album, I only enjoyed Accendio which sounds cunty and these tracks sound clean and plucky, however, it falls into the same gripes as Heya where the chorus relies on the adlibs too much that doesn't hold much substance and it can become repetitive.
As an Ive fan, its interesting seeing the opinion of someone that seems to have knowledge in this matter. I dont think you are a hater. I do still enjoy everything they put out so far though, it feel cohesive to me, as if Heya and the other songs are continuation of Eleven and Love dive but with their own small change in style that grabs attention. Only Baddie seemed different from the rest from me, but at the same time it fit well with some of their Bsides like Royal
