I made this video before Baddie came out so let me add a couple of things: 1. yes, Wonyoung got the most lines (which rarely happens) and people are so mad about it but when she ranks at the bottom everybody is ok with it 2. i haven’t seen a single one of those token stans that complain about unfair treatment ACTUALLY praising liz for her vocals or gaeul for her raps and dance break but i’m supposed to believe they care about them? sure…

I agree on the fact that just cause you are the main vocalist you don’t always have to have the most lines. It’s not just about skills but also about each member’s vocal color and everyone in ive has a very pretty voice that suits their songs, not just Liz.

As a Leeseo bias i was really exited to see Leeseo get many lines this comeback as well as see her rap in off the record so seeing so many people bring her down is.. disapointing.

Actually, I did comment on the line distribution video that it'd been nice if gaeul shared leeseos lines in off the record but I still love leeseo, I have 2 bias wreckers, leeseo and Yujin. I feel like I should delete that comment after this video, and I learnt a lot
They shouldnt be complaining anyway. Nobody complains when Wonyoung is last. They only complain when she's first. Nobody complains when Liz is first but when Yujin is even though she's the second best vocalist and a popualr member everyone calls out mistreatment. If Yujin was last nobody would complain

Liz is actually like third most popular in SK. 😅 I think people are just mad because Wonyoung (sometimes Yujin) are at the top! What’s so annoying when it comes to IVE is that you truly don’t even know who’s a real fan and who’s just tokenizing a member. It feels like, conversations about line distribution & screen time which are usually kept within the fandom of a group, become the whole kpop community’s business when it comes to IVE. It’s like everybody is just WAITING to check the line distribution, to check the MR REMOVED videos ( which everybody was just waiting for during Kitsch & I AM, the views show, but then claimed ‘ah it doesn’t matter if an idol sings live’ once their favs where caught lip-syncing & IVE was dragged all winter ). It’s annoying that whatever happens with IVE is not just DIVE’s business, it’s everyone’s. These fake stans confuse everybody because people call the fandom toxic when they see comment sections full of ‘Liz & Gaeul stans’ bashing Wonyoung or shading the group & management, and they also confuse dives because wars start between real solo stans because of what the fake ones said & did. It’s so unfair. Line distribution is not just about seconds, it’s also about WHAT part the members get. For example, in After LIKE, Gaeul got the killing part that literally made the song go viral in Korea and that EVERYONE knew. I am sorry, but with the exception of Kitsch ( which I believe was a marketing tactic by Starship to literally capitalize on this conversation to create buzz for the comeback ), you never feel like a member is missing in IVE’s music. There are groups out there that have horrible screentime & line distribution but the kpop community is concerned with IVE who has one of the better ones. It’s the nitpicking & cherrypicking of IVE that’s the problem. EVERYTHING is portrayed in a negative light as this HUGE ‘issue’.
THIS! Everything that happens in the fandom becomes everyone's business. If some dives rightfully complain about something, kpop stans will weaponize this and use it against some members, if dives make a joke someone outside the fandom will twist it and use it against the girls. You said it perfectly: when it comes to ive everyone is always so eager to watch the line distribution, to hyperfocus on the members interactions with each other, to nitpick every single thing and all of those things that would usually be just the fandom's business in every other group end up becoming everyone's business when it comes to ive.
I feel that most of the people who complain about line or screen time distribution are mostly IVE haters who find an excuse to complain about IVE. I do understand some complaints regarding screen time, but I don't believe that there is a deliberate attempt to exclude Liz or any other member.

Solo stans only emerge out of the woodwork when there's a release with a painted narrative (a certain member is dead last in a line distribution, again) that they can use as ammunition to garner the group backlash.

Gauel and Liz Stan’s complain but I never hear them hype up their brand deals like you mentioned. Wony and yujin stans keep the brand deal talked about. Yujin Korean fanbase keeps all of her skincare brand deals so popular. Wonyoung Koreans and international fanbase sold the living hell out of the green tea serum and even now miu miu sales are rising cus wonyoung stans see miu miu as the new it girl item. Because that’s accurate. She’s one of the weaker singers, she should get less. Plus she gets plenty of opportunities to shine as visual/center/face of the group. She doesn’t need excessive lines as well. Let the others get their time to shine through the line distribution. Wonyoung is never going to be the idol who doesn’t get to be in the spotlight every comeback. The others need more opportunities, she’s already the popular It Girl.

IVE member's skill growth from come back to come back has been astonishing not just in their vocals on the studio version but performance, I saw yesterday's music show performance and I couldn't believe Wonyoung's vocal stability while dancing. These girls really work hard to improve. That is one reason I love this group.
Wonyoung and Yujins stage presence keeps getting better and better each comeback! Their facial expressions looks so natural and not forced and it looks effortless, can’t wait fir the other members to improve more on their stage presence
@@AB-yk2pq Leeseo's really clawing her way up into my bias spot! She's so charismatic in Baddie performances and her subtle acting blew me away in the Either Way MV. I think she's comparable to Wony in that she's a very balanced overall performer, even if she and Wony aren't necessarily the strongest singers or the strongest dancers, they still do a great job and I'm sad Leeseo doesn't get the praise she deserves for how much she continues to improve
@@AB-yk2pqno fr, in baddie I was like “LEESEO!!!” I usually don’t look for Leeseo in their stage performances unless she’s singing or center at that time, but I found myself staring at her constantly. Just goes to show how slight improvement go so far. She realized winking and smiling doesn’t isn’t cutting it like it did during debut and switched it up. I remember Yujin had a similar issue during izone but look at her now. Leeseo cut down the winking and smiling, added more subtle details like side glances, lip biting, smirks, eyebrow raise, and slow eye movements and that changed made such an improvement.
As for Wonyoung a vocals a producer by the name of Ryan (his last name starts with a J, I don’t know how to spell it) said that Wonyoung was a “practice addicted” saying how she always came to the studio 20 minutes early for recording and practice, and how he never seen someone’s as hard working as her. Which makes sense because during her recording she always asked them to redo it (even when it was fine) because she wanted it to be just right. Some people used that Ava sit her saying she needs to record several time because she’s a terrible vocalist even though I think she’s just a perfectionist and with IVEs producers Ryan, who’s been with them since debut, said this about Wonyoung, I think it just confirms my point of her being a “perfectionist” at her craft
I know gaeul didn't have alot of lines in this album, but i think her screentime and center made up for that. Personally, i think its unfair to the producers of the song for people to constantly complain about the line and screentime distribution. They dont purposefully time it to make sure one member has the bare minimum, they dont wake up one day and just randomly decide not to give a certain member lines, they base that on the vision they have for the song and what they think fits best, their the professionals and they know what they are doing, not some bitter solo stans. The only time you can say they thought about the line distribution was in kitsch, when they intentionally gave liz one line, bit thats probably more to do with starships influence.
Y’all know how wonyoung strawberry hate started gaeul Stan’s compared how gaeul is eating and with no makeup(even she was wearing foundation) but wonyoung was eating with two hand and make up and swiftly went away from the crime scene.
Gaeul and Liz are my number 1 and 2 favorites but I understand this line distribution concern. It will always depends on what genre they're using on their song and it may vary from one song to another, they will gave you a higher line distribution in some songs but lower on other. I also noticed that they bargain the screentime from the line distribution. The higher screentime the lower rank you may have in line distribution.
Ive’s producers are genius for giving parts to each girls that suits their voice.I think that is what contributes to their songs being bops after bops!!Each of their voices has its own uniqueness to it!!
lets be real, liz’s complaints only made sense for kitsch and either way screentime. other than that, her treatment has been fine in the group whereas gaeul stans need to be realistic when it comes to her skills, shes not a talented rapper or dancer (the group in general have underwhelming choreo). she’s likely to be last because she’s not a strong singer or rapper. the only issue if she gets little lines. it made zero sense for her fans to whine over OTR when she got a good amount of lines and was the only member who sang both parts of the chorus. idk what happened in 4th gen but fans expect line distributions to be 100% equal. gaeul got good lines for either way, OTR, i am, kitsch and wave (was literally #1 there) so its not mistreatment that she didnt get as much for baddie ALSO kpop fans need to stop using mistreatment when it comes to lines or being center. there are groups that have actually been mistreated by companies and the amount of lines someone gets isnt one of them
Thank you for finally saying this! Gaeul’s skills are decent but not good enough to stand on top. Nothing about Gaeul makes her stand out among the other members, but despite that, Starship still gives her solo stages and dance breaks. So, how is she even “mistreated?” As for Liz, she had the least lines in ONE song, but sang almost the majority of I AM (along with Yujin). I didn’t see anyone complain about fairness then???

I love IVE but I won't sit here and act like Gaeul is 3rd in vocals like a lot of her fans say. They love saying shes better than Leeseo when even someone who knows nothing about singing can tell you that's false. I always say solo stans come off as spoiled brats because in a lot of other groups someone who only has a dance and rap position wouldn't sing at all. The fact that Gaeul has multiple songs where she gets to sing and even two where she came first dispite not having a vocal position is a blessing. Because she could just be sat there doing nothing. With Liz I noticed her stans have started to calm down because the general public simply aren't buying the whole “Liz is mistreated.” thing anymore. And that's honestly not a good thing, when Dives went to speak about her getting low screentime a lot less people cared compared to Kitsch. It's sad that her pity stans have been screaming so much for almost two years that we can no longer speak on real issues with Liz and be taken seriously. I also dislike how the whole pity party for Gaeul and Loz have not only aggrivated the hate Annyeongz already get but also effects Leeseo and Rei. I was disgusted to see how Gaeul stans attacked Leeseo because she got the rap in OTR. And discrediting both of their talents, I cannot fathom how people can sit up here and claim Rei isn't the best rapper or say Leeseo is the worst vocalist in IVE. Gaeul isn't the best dancer, rapper or vocalist or performer. I'm sorry if I sound harsh. Wonyoung has stage presence, Leeseo has been showing a bit more improvements that Gaeul all together.
Solo stans in general are always a potentially damaging tool against the group their faves are part of. I feel like those token stans (hiding behind Liz or Gaeul just to hate on Wonyoung or to bring IVE down) are the biggest problem, specially since Liz's Kitsch situation. They don't care about the girls, but about the excuse to sh*t on IVE. However, it's true that half the members (Gaeul, Rei & Leeseo) are put behind the other half (initially Wonyoung & Yujin, but Liz as well more & more everytime) systematically, like Baddie was THE perfect chance for both Gaeul & Rei, the RAPPERS, to shine in a girl/teen crush / RAP oriented song rather than being the two last ones in line distribution... Also, getting most lines WHILE having the least screentime (Either Way - Liz) isn't mistreatment, but makes no sense, just like blaming Wonyoung for Starships mistakes...
I agree that baddie was the perfect song to let the rap line shine, but i also feel like they shined the most even if they didn't have as many lines as the others. It really felt like they owned the song since they got the most memorable parts. At the end of the day the vocal line might have had more lines but a lot of those lines were just the "lalala" part in the post chorus while Rei and Gaeul got more outstanding parts.

It's not about having less lines, it's that the RAPPERS had the LEAST line distribution time in the only RAP oriented title track. The most memorable parts went to Wonyoung with the choruses and also Yujin with both the prechorus and the dancebreak central position, which was focused mostly on her eventhough Gaeul also had central part (yet look at the MV: it's Yujin focused). I mostly follow this group because of Yujin because I liked her stage presence in Eleven and her dancing. I also think Liz has a beautiful voice and I find her awkwardness and shyness relatable and I think Rei is promising songwriter and rapper, especially because she does that in foreign languages. However, I wasn't able to click with entire IVE due to solo fandoms. I still remember how much fuss was made over Wonyoung wearing a dress or Yujin being a centre in dance break and yet they ignored when Gaeul wore so called "the prettiest outfits" or had dance solo moments. Liz's and Gaeul's "stans" are only there to complain and disrespect Wonyoung and Yujin, ignoring the fact they 2 bring the most money to the company on average. Whatever you like Wonyoung or not, she's a stan attachment. Whatever it's her beauty, her facial expressions, the way she carries herself, the way she makes her lines catchy. She's just important role in the group while not being the best singer or dancer there. Yujin is arguably the best dancer and performer and also second best singer, you can always count on Yujin for "idol package." Literally all other members have solo gigs and promotion, so if you want them to be highlighted more- stream their fancams more, buy more albums of copies with their fanbar, buy products they promote etc. Just my 2 cents.
@@lavienrosewon8811Songwriting is subjective, especially if multiple members write in the same group. It's okay to have different styles and expressions for writing. I personally feel like Rei deserves extra credits for writing and improving in 2 foreign languages.

One of Ive's producers last week said Wonyoung's wants to move on to actually composing songs next; at 19 she is definitely on her way to becoming a full fledged idol writer/producer.

People! being an idol is a job, a business the company will do what makes them the most money. If you want your fave to be featured more support them in their solo activities, praise and bring them up not the others down, make them the new money maker. I think Rei and Leeseo gets more lines because they have such unique voices that makes the songs unique. They all are amazing and complement each other perfectly. That’s why they are on top

I was literally thinking this, it kinda feels weird seeing so many comments on MVs PRAISING Liz and Gaeul for having more lines or more screen time, for “finally being appreciated”. Not like they were earning money and debuted in a very successful group already and more than half of the fandom acts as if cheering for them is politically correct, treating them like actual victims. Wonyoung can’t just have the most lines or the most screen time (being literally the visual of the group) because that’s apparently mistreating other members. All IVEs members are super talented but this people keep forgetting Yujin and Wonyoung were the ones who brought in most of the audience, as if denying their popularity and talent was helping the other “poor little mistreated more talented” members in any way.

Gauel solo Stan’s remind me of jisoo solo Stan’s and I call them “pity Stan’s”. They think the idol is very mistreated and they make every single situation into a mistreatment thing. I agree so much with this. Liz got so much lines in the other comebacks and title tracks, and Gaeul too, and Wonyoung got less lines but when she gets lots of lines for once people are mad about it because the “ main vocalist didn’y get the most lines “, like it’s noy about the main vocalist. This is going to sound stupid or cringe but when I was watching there performances and the line distribution I actually cried because the group produces amazing music and there all arguably talented in the own specialty (dance, vocal, rap and even composing) but there so hated its concerning only 1hr after the baddie Mv dropped and the comments were so disgusting it made me so sad because in all honesty the girls have done nothing wrong there not really a problematic group because most of the "scandals" are edited it's just those damn token Stans who slowly chip away at the group and the fandom its draining to stand a group and having a bias your constantly bashed for. If dives would shut up about line distributions and screen time and support OT6 and clap back at haters the group and fandom would be so much happier and ive can get the love and full support they deserve. I think newjeans have such a great fandom because any scandal bunnies literally debunk in a few hours and continue to support all the girls I hope dive can be the same in the future.

Gaeul and Liz token stans are so insane that I’ve seen instances where there’s a fan taken pic of Wonyoung and either Liz of Gaeul are BLURRED in the back and they will go out their way to praise and compliment the members who you can’t even see whilst ignoring Wonyoung and then play dumb once you call it out.
Something that I realized is how Liz, despite being the 2nd with most lines overall and having 9 (I think?) songs with most lines, she's first in just 3 out of 9 title tracks (counting Japanese songs too) and when she's not first in TTs she's like 4th or below, but she's the first in a lot of B-sides, so I can sorta understand why there's this misconception that she's way worse treated than she actually is, since most people and casual listeners don't usually listen to their b-sides. In contrast, Wonyong only has been first in 3 occasions but the 3 of them were title tracks, and she consistently gets into the top 3 in lines either titles or b-sides, making people think that she has more lines than she actually does (I've seen people say that Wonyoung is the one with most lines in IVE???). So it's obvious that that is a Starship strategy, "hey we give our main vocal a lot of lines, but mostly in the b-sides, whereas the most popular member gets most screentime and a lot of lines but only in title tracks" so that way everyone is happy, Liz has a lot of lines (what "people want") and Wonyoung stans (a big part of the fanbase) are happy to see her so they'll support the song. (obviously this never ends well)

I always appreciate your videos!! I have an OT6 for IVE but in the beginning my eye caught Liz and I’ve always loved her a lot but it makes me upset that these people don’t even like the idol they try to defend and pity. They only do it to complain and don’t even appreciate everything she accomplished. I do think Liz has some screen time problem in Kitsch, and Either Way but that doesn’t give anyone the right to hate on any other members. We should give criticism and still be polite about it but not flat out hate :( I want this fandom to be not toxic because it looks better on the idols too. Thanks for pointing this out! I’m getting tired of these solo stans.
Sometimes those complaints make sense (especially in kitsch where the line distribution was unjustifiable) but sometimes they don't and you best believe that they have probably never even streamed one of liz's fancams and they have never watched any of her solo schedules...i actually think they probably don't even know who Jiwon is if you asked them 😭

i agree that the main vocal doesn't always need to get the most lines in every song, not every song requires an very strong singer. kitsch for example had a lot of talking singing and rap, it required someone who could carry the vibe of the song more than it someone with a wide vocal range or lots of vocal techniques, their newest song baddie is like that as well

i agree with you so much i cannot even begin to tell you. i literally love all of the girls so much. i want to see them thrive and explode and get into their element. it's just like stirring the pot for NO REASON when ppl do this when overall the distribution IS equal and/or fits with the members ASSIGNED ROLES!!! i defend all the girls the same, even tho i have my bias (wonyoung). and THANK U for recognizing her vocals, omg!!!!! she became my ult bias when i was still new and didn't recognize all the members' voices yet because i LOVED her voice and tone especially. and she pushes herself to do even better (her vocal coach recently shared how hard she's worked and comes in early and all that). the girls work so hard!!
I think the problem is that gaeul has very mixed and matched screentime and line distribution so it feelsl ike you dont see her at all sometimes, because she gets it in little portions unlike wy or yujin who (THIS IS NOT HATE) usually are the center/in top 3 of line distribution, this is the same with leeseo. Liz also hasn't gotten her fair share of screentime for like 4 times already and shes usually ALWAYS in the last 3 for solo screentime distribution 1) eleven - 5th in solo screentime 9.5 seconds in comparison to wonyoung and yujin's 18 seconds 2) love dive - last in solo screentime with 8.6 seconds (wonyoung with 12.9 and yujin with 20, STILL top 2) *not to mention she was second to last in screentime in general* 3) after like- last in solo screentime AGAIN (rei in 1st with 19, yujin with 18.7 and wonyoung with 18.2 , BOTH of them still not leaving top 3) 4) kitsch - the most apalling one . surprise!! shes last again in solo screentime with 6 seconds ( yet again, wonyoung and yujin are top 2 with 42 seconds and 31) 5) i am - though this is where she gets more lines, her solo screen time is in 5th after rei who got 5 seconds . Being a Liz bias, I love all of them equally, the gaeul and Liz Stan’s Ik love all of them equally but I have never experienced just love towards 1 member, I hope I don’t cause I’m pretty sure they are really toxic

Look up any IVE line distribution video on youtube, they're camping everywhere in the comment section, also look at youtube shorts, there are so many that have titles like "liz looking sad while reacting to the comeback because of her lack of lines" and things like that. There are also countless tweets by non dives trying to victimize Liz and they go viral with thousands of likes.
One of the things that really gets my blood boiling is that Yujin and Liz/Rei and Gaeul are clearly untilised differently. Yujin and Liz have different vocal strong points and skillsets that means that lines that Yujin kills arent suitable for Liz (and vice versa). The same goes for Rei and Gaeul. Theres a reason that Leesoo got Rei's lines when Rei was recovering, she suits them better. The complete inablility of some "stans" to see that is honestly baffling imo
I personally loved every song, especially Holy Moly, the only one that didn't stand out to me that much was OTT. As for Baddie, i get why some people might not like this sound for the girls but i think it fits them so well, especially if you consider the fact that they have already done this type of sound with Hypnosis and Kitsch. yes i understands the concept the producers do things a certain way for a reason, as for the line distribution i agree but we don’t expect the main vocalist to have the most line I just expect as the main vocalist your supposed to be herd more and not less. I personally think that any k-pop groups can have almost the same amount of screen and lines if they share the lines and not have the members repeat the same line over and over. They have specific roles that’s they are given i personally think they should go by the roles they give each member as for yujin and liz being main vocalist the should get the chorus parts to there song and have the rest of the members sing the verse that will mostly be fair and we will still be able to here the main vocalist more.

I will talk about liz situation only since she's my fave of the group. I think the liz complaint actually began during after like era where she didn't get any chorus, which is actually a shame cause I love the song so much and liz voice would be so heavenly singing chorus. not only that but she proves that she know how to sing it with a breath control and seamless transition between her mixed and head voice. I'm sorry but the other members were really struggling singing this live (from their mr removed and encore stage) whoever decide the line distribution deserves their ears check. also in the mv, she got significantly less screentime during this era. each member got like 4 costumes in the mv, including liz, but only 1 costume from liz that was shown in her solo screen time. while the other members have at least like 2 or 3 costumes on their solo screen time. not to mention how bad she faced the scrutiny by knetz that time as well, ugh those dark time. while I understand, in case this was the company decision, but it's kind of the beginning of mixed narrative of the situation as well. then kitsch happened, do I need to say more? the situation was getting worse after this and it's not going to be the same. like is liz fans were the one to blame by this situation? less than 6 secs of line to sing, 10 secs of screen time? like hello? I don't even have the problem who's getting the most or the least, but NOT this far. this where I draw the line. such a dumb move by the label and it created even more bad narrative and perception of the group. after this era, every little things are going to be nitpicking unfortunately. it's like we developed OCD after this. either way screen time distribution is also NASTY. 9 secs of screen time? out of 4 minutes length video? also did everyone see the behind the mv shoot, where liz in the pigtail scene was entirely CUT off. see how tired we are. As a gaeul stan myself, i totally get you, but what i hate the most is the fact that some people who claim to love her don't actually support her and just use her to drag the other girls. Liz should have time to rest her voice. Being first with all of the hardest lines all the time would be WAY too difficult and would probably harm her voice. Also, other than Liz's lines, Kitsch is an incredibly fair line distribution, but that gets overlooked a lot

What’s so annoying when it comes to IVE is that you truly don’t even know who’s a real fan and who’s just tokenizing a member. It feels like, conversations about line distribution & screen time which are usually kept within the fandom of a group, become the whole kpop community’s business when it comes to IVE. It’s like everybody is just WAITING to check the line distribution, to check the MR REMOVED videos ( which everybody was just waiting for during Kitsch & I AM, the views show, but then claimed ‘ah it doesn’t matter if an idol sings live’ once their favs where caught lip-syncing & IVE was dragged all winter ). It’s annoying that whatever happens with IVE is not just DIVE’s business, it’s everyone’s.
These fake stans confuse everybody because people call the fandom toxic when they see comment sections full of ‘Liz & Gaeul stans’ bashing Wonyoung or shading the group & management, and they also confuse dives because wars start between real solo stans because of what the fake ones said & did. Line distribution is not just about seconds, it’s also about WHAT part the members get. For example, in After LIKE, Gaeul got the killing part that literally made the song go viral in Korea and that EVERYONE knew. I am sorry, but with the exception of Kitsch ( which I believe was a marketing tactic by Starship to literally capitalize on this conversation to create buzz for the comeback ), you never feel like a member is missing in IVE’s music. There are groups out there that have horrible screentime & line distribution but the kpop community is concerned with IVE who has one of the better ones.
It’s the nitpicking & cherrypicking of IVE that’s the problem. EVERYTHING is portrayed in a negative light as this HUGE ‘issue’.

IVE member's skill growth from come back to come back has been astonishing not just in their vocals on the studio version but performance, I saw yesterday's music show performance and I couldn't believe Wonyoung's vocal stability while dancing. These girls really work hard to improve. That is one reason I love this group.
Wonyoung and Yujins stage presence keeps getting better and better each comeback! Their facial expressions looks so natural and not forced and it looks effortless, can’t wait fir the other members to improve more on their stage presence

I usually don’t look for Leeseo in their stage performances unless she’s singing or center at that time, but I found myself staring at her constantly.
Just goes to show how slight improvement go so far. She realized winking and smiling doesn’t isn’t cutting it like it did during debut and switched it up. I remember Yujin had a similar issue during izone but look at her now.
Leeseo cut down the winking and smiling, added more subtle details like side glances, lip biting, smirks, eyebrow raise, and slow eye movements and that changed made such an improvement.
As for Wonyoung a vocals a producer by the name of Ryan (his last name starts with a J, I don’t know how to spell it) said that Wonyoung was a “practice addicted” saying how she always came to the studio 20 minutes early for recording and practice, and how he never seen someone’s as hard working as her. Which makes sense because during her recording she always asked them to redo it (even when it was fine) because she wanted it to be just right. Some people used that Ava sit her saying she needs to record several time because she’s a terrible vocalist even though I think she’s just a perfectionist and with IVEs producers Ryan, who’s been with them since debut, said this about Wonyoung, I think it just confirms my point of her being a “perfectionist” at her craft
I know gaeul didn't have alot of lines in this album, but i think her screentime and center made up for that.
Personally, i think its unfair to the producers of the song for people to constantly complain about the line and screentime distribution. They dont purposefully time it to make sure one member has the bare minimum, they dont wake up one day and just randomly decide not to give a certain member lines, they base that on the vision they have for the song and what they think fits best, their the professionals and they know what they are doing, not some bitter solo stans. The only time you can say they thought about the line distribution was in kitsch, when they intentionally gave liz one line, bit thats probably more to do with starships influence.

It will always depends on what genre they're using on their song and it may vary from one song to another, they will gave you a higher line distribution in some songs but lower on other. I also noticed that they bargain the screentime from the line distribution. The higher screentime the lower rank you may have in line distribution.

whereas gaeul stans need to be realistic when it comes to her skills, shes not a talented rapper or dancer (the group in general have underwhelming choreo). she’s likely to be last because she’s not a strong singer or rapper. the only issue if she gets little lines. it made zero sense for her fans to whine over OTR when she got a good amount of lines and was the only member who sang both parts of the chorus.
idk what happened in 4th gen but fans expect line distributions to be 100% equal. gaeul got good lines for either way, OTR, i am, kitsch and wave (was literally #1 there) so its not mistreatment that she didnt get as much for baddie

Nothing about Gaeul makes her stand out among the other members, but despite that, Starship still gives her solo stages and dance breaks. I love IVE but I won't sit here and act like Gaeul is 3rd in vocals like a lot of her fans say. They love saying shes better than Leeseo when even someone who knows nothing about singing can tell you that's false. I always say solo stans come off as spoiled brats because in a lot of other groups someone who only has a dance and rap position wouldn't sing at all. The fact that Gaeul has multiple songs where she gets to sing and even two where she came first dispite not having a vocal position is a blessing. Because she could just be sat there doing nothing. With Liz I noticed her stans have started to calm down because the general public simply aren't buying the whole “Liz is mistreated.” thing anymore. And that's honestly not a good thing, when Dives went to speak about her getting low screentime a lot less people cared compared to Kitsch. It's sad that her pity stans have been screaming so much for almost two years that we can no longer speak on real issues with Liz and be taken seriously. I also dislike how the whole pity party for Gaeul and Loz have not only aggrivated the hate Annyeongz already get but also effects Leeseo and Rei. I was disgusted to see how Gaeul stans attacked Leeseo because she got the rap in OTR. I agree that baddie was the perfect song to let the rap line shine, but i also feel like they shined the most even if they didn't have as many lines as the others. It really felt like they owned the song since they got the most memorable parts. At the end of the day the vocal line might have had more lines but a lot of those lines were just the "lalala" part in the post chorus while Rei and Gaeul got more outstanding parts.

It's not about having less lines, it's that the RAPPERS had the LEAST line distribution time in the only RAP oriented title track.
The most memorable parts went to Wonyoung with the choruses and also Yujin with both the prechorus and the dancebreak central position, which was focused mostly on her eventhough Gaeul also had central part (yet look at the MV: it's Yujin focused).

I mostly follow this group because of Yujin because I liked her stage presence in Eleven and her dancing. I also think Liz has a beautiful voice and I find her awkwardness and shyness relatable and I think Rei is promising songwriter and rapper, especially because she does that in foreign languages.
However, I wasn't able to click with entire IVE due to solo fandoms. I still remember how much fuss was made over Wonyoung wearing a dress or Yujin being a centre in dance break and yet they ignored when Gaeul wore so called "the prettiest outfits" or had dance solo moments. Liz's and Gaeul's "stans" are only there to complain and disrespect Wonyoung and Yujin, ignoring the fact they 2 bring the most money to the company on average.
Whatever you like Wonyoung or not, she's a stan attachment. Whatever it's her beauty, her facial expressions, the way she carries herself, the way she makes her lines catchy. She's just important role in the group while not being the best singer or dancer there. Yujin is arguably the best dancer and performer and also second best singer, you can always count on Yujin for "idol package."
Literally all other members have solo gigs and promotion, so if you want them to be highlighted more- stream their fancams more, buy more albums of copies with their fanbar, buy products they promote etc. Just my 2 cents.

I was literally thinking this, it kinda feels weird seeing so many comments on MVs PRAISING Liz and Gaeul for having more lines or more screen time, for “finally being appreciated”. Not like they were earning money and debuted in a very successful group already and more than half of the fandom acts as if cheering for them is politically correct, treating them like actual victims.
Wonyoung can’t just have the most lines or the most screen time (being literally the visual of the group) because that’s apparently mistreating other members. This is going to sound stupid or cringe but when I was watching there performances and the line distribution I actually cried because the group produces amazing music and there all arguably talented in the own specialty (dance, vocal, rap and even composing) but there so hated its concerning only 1hr after the baddie Mv dropped and the comments were so disgusting it made me so sad because in all honesty the girls have done nothing wrong there not really a problematic group because most of the "scandals" are edited it's just those damn token Stans who slowly chip away at the group and the fandom its draining to stand a group and having a bias your constantly bashed for. If dives would shut up about line distributions and screen time and support OT6 and clap back at haters the group and fandom would be so much happier and ive can get the love and full support they deserve. Gaeul and Liz token stans are so insane that I’ve seen instances where there’s a fan taken pic of Wonyoung and either Liz of Gaeul are BLURRED in the back and they will go out their way to praise and compliment the members who you can’t even see whilst ignoring Wonyoung and then play dumb once you call it out.
Something that I realized is how Liz, despite being the 2nd with most lines overall and having 9 (I think?) songs with most lines, she's first in just 3 out of 9 title tracks (counting Japanese songs too) and when she's not first in TTs she's like 4th or below, but she's the first in a lot of B-sides, so I can sorta understand why there's this misconception that she's way worse treated than she actually is, since most people and casual listeners don't usually listen to their b-sides.
In contrast, Wonyong only has been first in 3 occasions but the 3 of them were title tracks, and she consistently gets into the top 3 in lines either titles or b-sides, making people think that she has more lines than she actually does (I've seen people say that Wonyoung is the one with most lines in IVE???).
So it's obvious that that is a Starship strategy, "hey we give our main vocal a lot of lines, but mostly in the b-sides, whereas the most popular member gets most screentime and a lot of lines but only in title tracks" so that way everyone is happy, Liz has a lot of lines (what "people want") and Wonyoung stans (a big part of the fanbase) are happy to see her so they'll support the song.

I have an OT6 for IVE but in the beginning my eye caught Liz and I’ve always loved her a lot but it makes me upset that these people don’t even like the idol they try to defend and pity. I do think Liz has some screen time problem in Kitsch, and Either Way but that doesn’t give anyone the right to hate on any other members. I think the problem is that gaeul has very mixed and matched screentime and line distribution so it feelsl ike you dont see her at all sometimes, because she gets it in little portions unlike wy or yujin who (THIS IS NOT HATE) usually are the center/in top 3 of line distribution, this is the same with leeseo. Liz also hasn't gotten her fair share of screentime for like 4 times already
and shes usually ALWAYS in the last 3 for solo screentime distribution

Look up any IVE line distribution video on youtube, they're camping everywhere in the comment section, also look at youtube shorts, there are so many that have titles like "liz looking sad while reacting to the comeback because of her lack of lines" and things like that. There are also countless tweets by non dives trying to victimize Liz and they go viral with thousands of likes.

One of the things that really gets my blood boiling is that Yujin and Liz/Rei and Gaeul are clearly untilised differently. Yujin and Liz have different vocal strong points and skillsets that means that lines that Yujin kills arent suitable for Liz (and vice versa). The same goes for Rei and Gaeul. Theres a reason that Leesoo got Rei's lines when Rei was recovering, she suits them better.

yes i understands the concept the producers do things a certain way for a reason, as for the line distribution i agree but we don’t expect the main vocalist to have the most line I just expect as the main vocalist your supposed to be herd more and not less. I personally think that any k-pop groups can have almost the same amount of screen and lines if they share the lines and not have the members repeat the same line over and over. They have specific roles that’s they are given i personally think they should go by the roles they give each member as for yujin and liz being main vocalist the should get the chorus parts to there song and have the rest of the members sing the verse that will mostly be fair and we will still be able to here the main vocalist more.

I will talk about liz situation only since she's my fave of the group.
I think the liz complaint actually began during after like era where she didn't get any chorus,
which is actually a shame cause I love the song so much and liz voice would be so heavenly singing chorus.
not only that but she proves that she know how to sing it with a breath control and seamless transition between her mixed and head voice.
I'm sorry but the other members were really struggling singing this live (from their mr removed and encore stage)
whoever decide the line distribution deserves their ears check.
also in the mv, she got significantly less screentime during this era.
each member got like 4 costumes in the mv, including liz, but only 1 costume from liz that was shown in her solo screen time.
while the other members have at least like 2 or 3 costumes on their solo screen time.
not to mention how bad she faced the scrutiny by knetz that time as well, ugh those dark time.
while I understand, in case this was the company decision, but it's kind of the beginning of mixed narrative of the situation as well.
then kitsch happened, do I need to say more? the situation was getting worse after this and it's not going to be the same.

From the lack of screen time in videos (most videos, especially either way which was crazy considering 30sec of the song is her voice) , to the editing (it’s never clear shots of her like the others, in I AM her chorus was literally interrupted with wonyoung jumping out the plan, making it look like it’s wonyoung singing it, why couldn’t she jump out the plane?), how she’s angled in a lot of pictures (none of her pics are ever angled to her face and everyone else is), the 6seconds in kitsch was absolutely wild, and they never promoted her zigzag or any of her brands ever on the ive page. Its just a lot of side eyeing things that I feel ppl glossed over because when you have 2 of the biggest IT girls in a group you don’t really notice the other memebers.
