I'm a Pentecostal Christian. I love this man. I've watched a number of his videos. I find him very authentic and generous. I'd love to converse with him. He's very learned. Loved his thoughts on what it means to prosper. Full of wisdom. God bless this man.
HOW TO BE SAVED: Repent: Acts 20:21 Authorized (King James) Version “testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 7:9 "Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing." KJV. 2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." KJV. Understand YOU ARE A SINNER and only The Lord Jesus Christ can save you: Romans 3:20-26 Authorized (King James) Version “20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” Romans 3:10 "as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" KJV. Put your faith in the Gospel: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" KJV For added assurance of salvation, call upon the name of The Lord (The Lord Jesus Christ) for salvation: Romans 10:8-13 "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." KJV.
Excellent video, Bishop Barron. I have begun to pray in my car often...after 10 years of Atheism. Be patient with the millennials. I believe many will come back to the Church. Best Regards, Brian from Washington D.C.
God Bless Millennials! 🙏🏻& young adults. They bare witness to all the mistakes of our ancestors. They can see through the many woes of the world around them & problems of the adults in their lives. Who wouldn’t want to avoid the traumas humanity has created? Who wouldn’t be sceptical / cynical? I totally understand where they are coming from. Love the concept of the Holy Hour. It’s what we model. This is how children learn. Do we always model love, nourishment & patience? Then we will create a world like this. Living in the fruit of the spirit. 💙
@John Louis God bless you. Learn how to listen to and hear Him, and learn how to cling to Him. Then, learn how to walk with and follow Him. Also learn how to struggle with and against yourself for His sake. To help with that, study the Cross and really come to appreciate what Christ has done for you and every person and thing that you love. Know what God has done for you. Anything good you can think of, He made it. Any good event in your life, He planned it on some level. Every second you are, He is right there with you, making you and loving you and yearning for you to become to the full potential that He has planned for you. God has said maybe about you so that you can say "Yes Lord!" To Him.
I was that woman, throwing the clods of dirt at the Blessed Mother. Not literally, but under the same circumstances as the woman in Bishop Barron's video. I could barely speak to her, I was so angry after my husband died. I felt that she had betrayed us, betrayed ME, who had put my husband under her mantle for protection from evil. It took a great while but I finally admitted what I was thinking and feeling about her to a friend online who told me that perphaps, just perhaps, Mary DID protect him and DID take him under her care, because he had died right after receiving the sacraments of baptisma and confirmation into the Catholic faith. "Stole Heaven," as a good sister exclaimed when I told her the story of his death. It then became clear to me that yes, Our Lady had taken care of him so much better than I had asked or anticipated.
Andy, I imagine it depends on the circumstances. Tell that person my story and see if any of it resonates with them. The point I wanted to make is that God's ways aren't our ways and this period of my life perfectly illustrated that truth. It's not that He is uncaring---but we either believe that this is not our final destination, this earthly plane, or we don't. And it really does come down to surrendering our wills, and having faith, even when we don't understand it at ALL. Jesus told us to be like little children. And how many ways does a parent tell a child who simply doesn't understand WHY they are not given everything they want, even when they think that thing is good for them? Sometimes, "Trust me. This IS for your own good" is the only answer we get. I'm not saying it is easy. But I'm believing that it is right and, ultimately, good.
@@Chaos3000and3 Andy not sure if you tried it already but I've found praying 4 Rosaries a day works almost miraculously to beat back fears and anxieties and that sinking despairing energy-less feeling one gets when confronted with ongoing painful challenges. I will literally be lying there like a dead person unable to motivate myself to move. Then as I say my Rosaries I suddenly have such a surge of energy that I literally leap out of bed and get to doing the things that need doing with a lighter, buoyant, spirit. Dear Blessed Mother Mary Help of Christians Pray for Andy🙏🌹
Review of this video by me for future reference . Hopefully someone else finds use of it as well. 0:16 - Studies show that everybody prays, even atheists. Human beings could be characterized as the animal that prays. What is prayer? 1:44 - prayer is a conversation between friends (two-way as opposed to just us reaching out to God or God invoking in us a call to speak with him). Simple recommendations by Bishop Barron to improve prayer life: 1.) Take the time 2:05 - the most important thing before improving technique etc is to make a habit of daily prayer. 2.) Find the center 3:13 - life is hectic and we jump from thought to thought, task to task, obligation to obligation. Prayer is about finding the center around which your entire life ought to revolve, ie God. 3.) To pray is to speak to God with honesty 4:18 - don’t be afraid to tell God what is truly on your mind, what’s troubling/worrying you, what makes you angry or sad etc. Talk about the messy sides of your life, we all have them. God already knows, there is no reason to hide. 4.) Listen attentively/ be silent 6:38 - it’s a conversation. Don’t do all the talking. But, often God doesn’t speak so directly to us. He’ll speak to us through the scripture, for example. Relatedly, sit in silence. Take a break from the constant stimulation and action of today’s culture. Be silent, and allow God to speak in that space. Thomas Aquinas said the will has 2 moves - to seek the good, and to rest in it. So, be silent and rest in the goodness of God during prayer. 11:28 - Final Recommendations: - if you can, pray the Holy Hour (dedicated hour of prayer everyday) do it - prayer before the Blessed Sacrament - the Jesus prayer : “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”
I was away from the Church for 2 years. One day, before Christmas, I got ill for over a week so I went to confession and before I did, I knew I was going to be healed and I was healed! Thank you Lord, for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I'm now living a prayerful life but I know I have to do more. Thank you Bishop Barron. God bless you.
Becoming a recent Catholic (I spent 30+ years as a meditating atheist) has been a fascinating experience. My meditation experience has prepared me well for Catholic prayer.
As a young girl I began prayer it works. It has never stop. It continues. Life's journey continues. Guidance comes so does grace. I will never stop because of generational love I am blessed. Continue your sharing through the love God bless the 🌎world God love us.
“Prayer is the raising up of the heart and mind to God” - John the Damascene “Prayer is a conversation among friends. It’s our friendship with God expressed through lively conversation.” - Bishop Robert Barron To pray is to find the place in you where you are here and now being created by God. - Thomas Merton Silence gives rise to prayer, prayer gives rise to faith, faith gives rise to love, love gives rise to service. - Mother Theresa
Thank you Bishop Barron. As you were talking about Mother Teresa and how she listened in silence. Many of us complain about how busy ourlives are. I have watched a few videos where the camera follows Mother Teresa. I remember news segments from the 70's and 80's. There always seemed to be one thing that followed her everywhere. Noise. I think of the streets of the slums right outside of her cell. I think of the activity inside the wards where Sisters and Volunteers cared for the sick and the dying. It just amazes me that not only was she able to concentrate on her prayers but she found silence. That to me is a miracle.
Thanks for pointing out the importance of silence, Bishop. When I pray at the Baptist church on Wednesday nights, we all sit around circular tables, six or so, and follow a prayer prompt, voicing our individual requests. I am amazed how often the Holy Spirit in silent is us. It is sooooo peaceful. I think most of us would agree that that's the best part.
Thank you so much for celebrating the Mass Bishop Barron. I receive Jesus everyday before the Corona crisis. My brother would bring Him to me as I am and can't go to Mass daily but my brother does and brings Him to me. I miss Him so so much. It's painful to me. Oh I can't wait till this is over. I miss my Lord, the Divine Will. I ask the Holy Spirit to inspire me, I consecrate myself to Him daily and pray to not loose Faith, to have courageous perseverance, love for others, esp. for those who started this and that is hard. But I have to give Mercy, even to my enemy and I pray for God's Mercy on them. I don't want to condemn them or myself for lack of love. My sweet, sweet savior come back to me, I need you. Help me to live in the present moment, take away my anxiety and fear, make me strong. Be with me, I know you are there. Bishop Barron pray for me and I pray for you. Receive the Blessings of the United Hearts.❤️❤️
Beautifully pragmatic and yet aesthetically pleasing and well informed and cultured. I'm blessed to know Bishop Barron is like the Venerable Fulton Sheen of our generation. God Bless all, thank you Bishop Barron!
One of the things that drew me to the Catholic Church was something that happened about 40 years ago in the Philippines. And in Singapore also. I wanted a quiet place to pray. I wasn't Catholic, I just wanted to pray. The only Church open was the Catholic Church. 25 years ago near the end of my Navy career I attended RCIA and became a Confirmed Catholic. Thanks in part to the "open door policy" of the Catholic Church in Asia. I didn't even realize at the time that I was praying before the Blessed Sacraments.
After many years I came home to the Catholic Church .After listening to the Central prayer time. THIS hourly time is a fulfilling way to keep praying ALL DAY LONG. THE PRESENT OF GRACE WHERE Jesus AND MARY LET ME KNOW TE VASTNESS OF THEIR LOVE AND FROM THERE MY COMMITMENT IS FAITHFUL OR MY SOUL Shrinks. LOVE AND LIVE JOYFULLY IN Kent, OHIO.
Jesus called me back to our home, the Catholic Church, for my Confirmation now in my 60's. I'd been baptized and received my Holy Communion , but then went astray. The Holy Trinity did not turn their back on me, my spirituality was there, but there. I saw many things, good and evil ... my experiences are now a blessing of sorts because Jesus graced me with the gift of gab in a positive way. I'm grateful to be able to engage in conversation with those in dire states, the elderly, the list goes on. And the gift of tears, I cry again. I've learned this is a gift and each tear is a prayer. What awesome gifts to receive. Thank you Jesus
When Bishop recommended “lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner” with the breathing technique he recommends is so deep and an example of the beauty of what the Catholic faith provides for us. I am so thankful to have it
Thanks bishop Barron your talk has helped me realize more fully that we can never pray enough, that God is always there ready and wanting to talk and listen to us , and we always need him
Your Excellency thank you for your video. I will wake up at 6:00 am to have a conversation with God at least 30 minutes. I know the answers to the questions are inside my heart because God lives inside of each one of us.
Dear Bishop Barron. Thank you for the video on prayer. I think the JESUS PRAYER you silently repeat at your Holy Hour, is your mantra, leading you to your centre in contemplation. Let it sound in your heart in rhythm, and you will be praying continuously. God Bless you and your work.
Your excellency, I have another prayer request. It's for my older brother, Jason. He and i grew up in a Catholic family but unfortunately, he doesn't take his Catholic faith seriously anymore. I hope and pray that he'll renew his faith. Hopefully when the season of Advent comes. Also pray that he'll find a new job because he's been unemployed for some time. And if he does find a new job, pray that he'll become fruitful, productive and his efforts won't be fruitless at all. Amen.
I benefit a lot from Bishop Barron,s talks, sermons, interpretations of scriptural readings, gospels he provides us with every Saturday. I am very grateful to him for helping us to draw close to God the Father and Jesus Christ.
I also love bishop barron, he brings sophisticated thinking in a simple way to simple people in a peaceful and joyful tone which brings in peace to the longing hearts. 🙏
I love this comment on prayer as it is one of the very best of Bishop Baron. I believe as he does that the time for prayer is the time one spends with God fully awake and in the now
Praise God for you Bishop! "Prayer is about God's quest for us...The Primacy of Grace :Prayer is God's addressing of us...the Holy Spirit already praying in us...the Holy Spirit prompting you to ask for what He wants to give...the Primacy of the Lord's involvement." For me, Prayer is an acknowledgment of the Lord's Presence..so "take every thought captive & submit it to the obedience (Grace, Agape Love, Mercy, Compassion) of Christ, (2Corinthians 10:5) and "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing! give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1Thessalonians 5:16-18) And don't forget, "And Jesus learned obedience through suffering." (Hebrews 5:8) "1. Time 2. Act of Finding the Center 3. Honest Communication 4. Listen Attentively 5. Role of Silence in Prayer. Mother Teresa: spiritual life, silence gives rise to prayer, prayer gives rise to faith, faith gives rise to love & love to service..." "And the Holy Spirit will bring to remembrance everything that Jesus has taught you..."(John 14:26) For me, this brings understanding, hearing Papa God's voice bringing me joy & peace & the feeling of being loved for the 1st time this year, after 55 years of prayer due to the Theodicy question that caused cognitive pain!
The Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit, if many churches are correct. If many churches are correct, The Trinity is a Family-- two Parents and a Progeny, just like a human family. (Humans are made in the "image" and "likeness" of God according to Genesis 1:26) In the Book of Job which is part of the bible, the Lord is compared to a father and also a mother with a womb. "From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens"--Job 38:29. Because God can also be thought of like a mother (Isaiah 42:14,Isaiah 66:13,Matthew 23:37), all three roles (father, mother, progeny) in a basic human family are filled in the Trinity. Saying that the "Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit" is simply another way of saying that the Holy Spirit "proceeds from the Father and the Son" which has been official Catholic Church teaching for centuries. According to the Catholic Church, the Son is begotten from the Father. If this is true, the Father is the Father (Parent) of the Son. According to the Church, the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son.If this is true, the Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit. According to the "Catechism of the Catholic Church" paragraph 264, "The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father as the first principle and...from the communion of both the Father and the Son" Of course, the scriptures are vague if the Holy Spirit is the 3rd or 2nd Person of the Trinity--whichever of these is true, the First Person and the Second Person may be the Parents of the Third. Parent definition 1a from Merriam-Webster dictionary: one that begets or brings forth offspring.
Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner. I love that. Bishop Barron Thank you. I look forward to seeing you this Friday at LA Congress. So super Excited. God Bless you! Jimmy T.
You strike straight into a person's acceptance, what is it in you that you are able to impart....treasure it Bishop Barron, you have been endowed....I guess you do it so silently without effort but with a smile and a natural soft manner. Many thanks Bishop Barron. God be near you always!!🤗😑...What I have discovered is that, for some people prayer comes so spontaneously, they have expression, at the same time they are visibly so humble. I guess I was brought up with too much rote praying, that I have not cultivated this lovely 'union' with God through prayef. I often tell Jesus about my disability, and ask Him to give me the grace for honest and clear expressiion of prayer. Thank you much Bishop, God be near you, always.
Prayer is a way of connecting myself to God. I do it in several ways. 1. Liturgy of the hours. 2. The rosary. 3. The Divine Mercy Chaplet every day at 3:00 pm. 4. The Chaplet of Saint Michael the Archangel. 5. Attending daily mass or watching it on television. Also the Miraculous medal novena.
It's always a little uncomfortable to make a comment on an old video, but here it is and I find all your suggestions very helpful. I have a very stressful life, so when I start praying I need to control the stress in order to focus and only then can I prey. It's not having a moment of silent before, it's the ability to go to it, or to communicate with God.
I truly recommend all the steps enumerated by Bishop Barron to improve one's prayer life. But when I was a newbie, I actually started with "formula prayers" which one can find in prayer books. They are also helpful in teaching us "other concerns" which we may fail to see. But a "SINCERE TALK WITH GOD" tops it all. God bless you Bishop and your ministry...
O Come Holy Spirit, Grant us Faith, Hope and Love. Ps 119:2, Jn 10:27 “Lord, by Thy cruel death, and by Thy dear mother Mary, deliver these poor souls from their sufferings; Lord, by Thy five sacred wounds save us.” 😇 st. Elizabeth of Hungary pray for us sinners.
Thank you your Excellency for this beautiful message. I always look forward to your videos, and they have helped me rediscover and strengthen my faith.
Dear Bishop , good reflection on prayer, especially before blessed sacrament , one more thing I would humbly add to your recommendations is to pray with tears, or to say , not to be ashamed of crying . We do see a child in all it's innnocense shed tears infront of its father and mother to ask or demand something, and St. Augustine says it as a gift of Holy Spirit. So it is not always easy to cry but when we feel like weeping it is not correct to feel ashamed not to weep, and we have to think it as a gift of Holy Spirit.
Thanks! Great to hear this again and now it's interesting how my perspective has shifted after this Corinavirus shelter in place and all the extra time available and how dire our situation is! What a great reminder to take ... "TheTime"... I'm praying even more intensely now at times. Thankyou for your guidance and inspiration! After all these years I've finally decided to finish my Catechism as a Candadate the intensity of being held back even longer is interesting...sad yet also has intensified the learning and it's also strange that now everyone is forced to recieve the Eucharist Spiritually. I've always prayed throughout my life and now even more. It's strange how sometimes when in shock at times it's easy to get lost in fear and worry and forget to {(take the time)} to pray or relax and meditate {(With God)}🕊 but when I do everything's much better and I can function better and sometimes great realizations emerge.
I’m not Catholic, but I love the Bishop’s videos! In the mormon church, they scold you if you ask for too many things from God, even if it’s just for the basic needs of life, so I don’t even know what to say or ask for anymore. Can anyone share with me their approach to prayer?
My daily prayer life is random ang spontaneous. I just say whatever comes to my thoughts as though I'm talking to a friend who knows everything about me. Like, everytime I see an ambulance, I say a short prayer asking for healing and protection for the driver and passengers. Each time I come across someone on the streets I say a little prayer for their safety. Each time I need help, I simply ask God to help me. It's comforting to know that even before I say my prayers, God already knows what I need.
Mr. Gruffyd, the Walter Pidgeon character in "How Green Was my Valley," told Huw Morgan, played by Roddy McDowall, "Prayer is only another name for good, clean, direct thinking. When you pray, think." In my opinion, the most meaningful line from a great film.
Thank you for your ministry and your insight, your commentary on prayer. Unbelievable how God is using His priests through media today to reach lay people like me to connect with the farther ends of our Church
Thank you for your insights, clear ideas, and your passion to share your faith to elevate and strengthen ours. You have helped me more than I can express. You are a true example of “a man for others”, Thank you 🙏🏻
I appreciate hearing him say that it’s OK to speak with honesty with God. Also to hear Bishop Barron at times say that ya know, there’s room to grow in the understanding indeed spirituality within the Church. This is way biblical. Coming from a few diff traditions that try to say “this is it” well... then I feel cognitive dissonance at the embedded nuances b/w those traditions. I like the mystic idea of personalization. For my own life yep.. “the attention to my own thoughts and feelings” that removes the “real” me from the exercise that’s where I can discern a bit I feel, the voice of God. I say, because I’m current times of temptation to compare EVERYTHING about my life to others.... well when I feel the SILENCE and the separateness of the fruit of a reading, a thought, a practice... “my will resting in the good that’s there.” Yep. Carthusians sound cool to me. At Times I notice that in my silence the world is not lacking anything on my part. I’m trying to dedicate some time to silence. Yet I have doubts... in faith, I do. A man centuries ago... I had a absent-ish Dad myself. I feel reaching back and back and back to an imaginary friend sometimes. That’s the truth. Sometimes. As far as I can understand myself. In my son though I see new creation and I have the will to see good for him.. I am instilled with Wonder. Be safe, Be Well. Ty
I am so happy to have seen this video. I have worried that my prayers are to insignificant to be heard. Bishop please say a quick prayer for me and ask God to for give me. Lord Jesus Son of the Living God have Mercy on me a sinner. Thank you Bishop Barrin.
For a very long time I've had tremendous consolation by either viewing you on You-tube or reading your articles. I love them dearly and I'll continue to look for these great gifts that you are sharing with world. The reason why I enjoy listening to you and reading your articles is because you tell the truth. I see the Holy Spirit in you as you say these great words. Nevertheless, I don't always agree with everything you say, and that is the reason why I would not go back to being a Catholic. I'm a member of a pentecostal Assembly of God Church in Spring Valley NY. Although I feel my church preach the Word according to the entire bible (We say it like it is (The truth which I hear from you 90% of the time I listen you)), I find myself agreeing with my church 99.9%. The problem I see everywhere in everyone in general is that "we do not practice what we preach". Anyway, I would like you to make a you-tube video on Exodus 20 verse 4 which is an ongoing problematic Catholic teaching in my view: You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. I feel that Catholic disobey this commandment. What's up with all these statues in the church? Also, Though Mary was the mother of the humanity of Jesus, a miracle accomplished by the Holy Spirit, she was not the mother of God. As God, Christ is eternal and had no mother or beginning (see John 1: 1). In essence, worshipping Mary is a form of idolatry. In the New Testament, Mary is never mentioned in a way that exalts her as is done in Catholicism. In Luke 1: 28, Mary is called “favored one” (literally, “endowed or filled with grace”) but only in the sense that God, by grace, chose her to be the human mother who would give birth to the Christ child. This same idea and word is used of all believers in Ephesians 1:6. We have all been endowed with grace. To say any more than this is to add to what the text of Scripture says. Brother Robert Barron, you are a great Speaker, I love you in Jesus and you have helped me so much so far. Please share some explanation for my concern for Catholic. If you do a research and find that my concern for the Catholic church is in accordance with fact, God bless you. If not, explain why it is not in accordance with fact. May God continue to be bless you. By the way, I agree with everything you said in this video with the exception of "We don't get much out of the prayer that Jesus thought us. Again, God bless you and peace be with you brother.
1. Take the time 2. Find the (still) centre "where you are here and now being created by God." 3. Speak to God with honesty (He knows anyways) 4. Listen (and feel) intently 5. Be silent
I'm a Pentecostal Christian. I love this man. I've watched a number of his videos. I find him very authentic and generous. I'd love to converse with him. He's very learned. Loved his thoughts on what it means to prosper. Full of wisdom. God bless this man.
Are you still Protestant?
He is a Catholic bishop....
We are bless henceforth....
Blessed
HOW TO BE SAVED:
Repent:
Acts 20:21
Authorized (King James) Version
“testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 7:9
"Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing." KJV.
2 Corinthians 7:10
"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." KJV.
Understand YOU ARE A SINNER and only The Lord Jesus Christ can save you:
Romans 3:20-26
Authorized (King James) Version
“20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”
Romans 3:10
"as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" KJV.
Put your faith in the Gospel:
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" KJV
For added assurance of salvation, call upon the name of The Lord (The Lord Jesus Christ) for salvation:
Romans 10:8-13
"But what saith it?
Best Regards,
Brian from Washington D.C.
Brian W. Welcome back Brian. Keeping you in my prayers . God bless
As a millennial, I've recently come back to the Church. I also ask for patience too. Seeking the Truth was my journey in this world of Relativism.

What would you say to someone who is currently going through something like that, and is losing faith in God because if it?
Simple recommendations by Bishop Barron to improve prayer life:
1.) Take the time 2:05 - the most important thing before improving technique etc is to make a habit of daily prayer.
11:28 - Final Recommendations:
- if you can, pray the Holy Hour (dedicated hour of prayer everyday) do it
- prayer before the Blessed Sacrament
- the Jesus prayer : “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”
Thank you!
Tysm!
I needed this.
Ty for this
Thanks so much!! God Bless!
I took your advice and now I pray an hour a day. It has radically changed my life in just three months.
God bless you.
nigga just cuz ur body healed ur physical illness that evidently wasn’t that bad doesn’t mean god saved u wtf 💀💀💀
I love Bishop Barron. Man, this is great stuff.
Yes, he converted me to Catholicism.
Bixhop Wow, you are unique, l thank The Lord for so gifting you. Lockyflan.
We are all blessed by this great teacher and evangelist 🙏🙏🙏
Becoming a recent Catholic (I spent 30+ years as a meditating atheist) has been a fascinating experience. My meditation experience has prepared me well for Catholic prayer.
As a young girl I began prayer it works. It has never stop. It continues. Life's journey continues. Guidance comes so does grace. I will never stop because of generational love I am blessed. Continue your sharing through the love God bless the 🌎world God love us.
Keep going forever God bless you bishop Barron
“Prayer is the raising up of the heart and mind to God” - John the Damascene
“Prayer is a conversation among friends. It’s our friendship with God expressed through lively conversation.” - Bishop Robert Barron
To pray is to find the place in you where you are here and now being created by God. - Thomas Merton
Silence gives rise to prayer, prayer gives rise to faith, faith gives rise to love, love gives rise to service.
I had issues with road rage. One Lent I chose to pray the rosary from and to work. Definitely changed my focus.
I have found so much comfort through you Bishop Barron. Thank you.

Even through our ignorance, God acts to envelop us into the divine life and love.👌🏼
Wow!
I am a brazilian catholic and living in Brazil..I love your explanations about prayer, thank you very much Bishop Barron.
It is here I find my strength and sense of direction to go forth to a brand new day. Thanks Bishop for yr good sharing.
When Bishop recommended “lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner” with the breathing technique he recommends is so deep and an example of the beauty of what the Catholic faith provides for us. I am so thankful to have it
Thanks bishop Barron your talk has helped me realize more fully that we can never pray enough, that God is always there ready and wanting to talk and listen to us , and we always need him
Bishop Barron is such a spiritual treasure!
Your Excellency thank you for your video. I will wake up at 6:00 am to have a conversation with God at least 30 minutes. I know the answers to the questions are inside my heart because God lives inside of each one of us.
I love listening about God while I'm working in the kitcen,I dont feel tiredness.Thank you Holy Spirit
As an Orthodox I can attest to the Jesus prayer and silence. Great to hear it as a recommendation.
Just watching and listening for one hour to Bob is extremely easy. Thankful.
"Speak with honesty to God" 🙏
Thank you ...no condemnation...comfortable enough to be honest with myself and with my Heavenly Father
Thank you so much Bishop Barron. ♥️🕊🌻
Your excellency,
I have another prayer request. Amen.
Alan Bourbeau God bless him. I will pray for him.
I believe as he does that the time for prayer is the time one spends with God fully awake and in the now
I love Bishop Barron. I thank God for him.
This is GOLD. Thanks for all these recommendations and reflections.
May God Bless You Rachel and keep the Faith until the end.
Thank you Bishop Barron. What a brilliant video. 🙏⛪🏴🌎💞
This is an amazing video on prayer. The insightful five steps. Thank you Bishop Barren.
Love your interview with Dave Rubin, Father! I learn a lot, God Bless!
Bishop Barron, you will never silence critics as you state you want to. I will pray for you.
I am taking Fr. BARRONS COURSE ON THE EUCHARIST. HE IS A SPIRITUAL GENIUS.
The
The Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit, if many churches are correct.
Praying in the name of Jesus
Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner. I love that. Bishop Barron Thank you. I look forward to seeing you this Friday at LA Congress. So super Excited. God Bless you! Jimmy T.
Thank you Father to help me to grow. Love your advice. God bless
I love this man .
A wonderful prayer teaching. Thank you for sharing your personal form of prayer and talking about how great saints pray.
God Bless Bishop Barron! Many thanks for spreading the truth, love and Joy of God to others. Keep us viewers in your prayers please!!
Thank you Bishop Barron for your informative talk.
Our prayer returns back to us in the form of blessing or in another words blessings are the reflections of our prayers. 😊❤
Great wisdom here, Bishop Barron. You are great at provoking me to think. Silence especially is so important. THANK YOU.
Gracias por Bendecirnos con su Oración 🕊✨Ven Espíritu Santo 🕊✨Gracias Padre Celestial 🕊✨
I have found Bishop Barron’s videos never get old!! :)
Yup😊@@diegowestendarp8217
Thanks bishop very inspiring
Thank you, Bishop.
I loved your lesson and learned something.
Thank you Bishop Barron. Eternally grateful for all your videos. Very helpful and enlightening. God bless. N
Great explanation and recommendations! Thank you Bishop Barron.
O Come Holy Spirit, Grant us Faith, Hope and Love. Ps 119:2, Jn 10:27
“Lord, by Thy cruel death, and by Thy dear mother Mary, deliver these poor souls from their sufferings; Lord, by Thy five sacred wounds save us.”
😇 st. Elizabeth of Hungary pray for us sinners.
I've always found Noon time to be my most prayerful hour.
Always inspiring Bp. Barron! Thank you
What a beautiful Angel that is here heaven to help us see the Light
Yes another good one, for all of us to hear. Yes ... yes ... yes ...
A beautiful lesson
the Jesus prayer is so simple yet so incredible
Thank you your Excellency for this beautiful message. I always look forward to your videos, and they have helped me rediscover and strengthen my faith.
Thanks to you l understand my faith on a level that l never knew l could experience. I am so grateful for you and word on fire.
Prayer is a movement where we and all we are is moved closer to God.
“Follow the deep instinct in your heart that is leading you to pray, and do it.”
I pray that everybody else does this too
Laudetur Jesus Christus! Greetings from Hungary!
Soze Kaiser Hi from Romania! :) I am catholic too! Lăudat fie Isus Cristos și Sfânta fecioară Maria!
又來複習一次禱告的真義, 每次都有不同的亮點.thanks a lot Bishop Barron
Mr. Gruffyd, the Walter Pidgeon character in "How Green Was my Valley," told Huw Morgan, played by Roddy McDowall, "Prayer is only another name for good, clean, direct thinking. When you pray, think." In my opinion, the most meaningful line from a great film.
This is the first I heard of the Jesus prayer. Thxs!!
I just started watching your videos. Love them. Thank you very much.
Thank you for teaching how to pray while breathing
Thank you for your ministry and your insight, your commentary on prayer. Unbelievable how God is using His priests through media today to reach lay people like me to connect with the farther ends of our Church
Thank you Bishop Barron.
Beautiful. Thank you Bishop Barron. God bless. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your insights, clear ideas, and your passion to share your faith to elevate and strengthen ours. You have helped me more than I can express. You are a true example of “a man for others”, Thank you 🙏🏻
thank you Bishop Barron Amazing
b
Beautiful💕 Thank you so much Bishop.
Freedom ministry helps us ask God a question and listen for the answer....asking for His truth to replace lies removes pain!
May the Lord bless
Praying is not wasting time. :) ♥️🕊🙏
Ty
i consider my self an agnostic atheist but Love your videos
In Luke 1: 28, Mary is called “favored one” (literally, “endowed or filled with grace”) but only in the sense that God, by grace, chose her to be the
human mother who would give birth to the Christ child.
Thank you for another excellent video. So helpful.
outstanding cretic. you have the gift . Bless you Brother
Thank you for your videos, they have changed my life
1. Take the time
2. Find the (still) centre "where you are here and now being created by God."
3. Speak to God with honesty (He knows anyways)
4. Listen (and feel) intently
5. Be silent
Love your interview with Dave Rubin, Father!
That's how I found him. Love me some Dave Rubin and now loving me some Bishop Barron!
