Good video again Dale and nice explanation of the differences in years of which years have what T/O bearing and slave cylinder . I hope you and your family are doing well and I will continue to keep you all in my prayers . Take care and be safe my friend.
We put on a plastic aftermarket one and it wouldn't bleed, put the original aluminum one back on because only the clip fell out and line fell out,put your clips in the back so they won't fall out
are the bleeder line and supply line into the housing supposed to move? I can move mine back and forth from outside the housing. no leaks they just move about 2 inches in and out if i press or pull on them.
In my knowledge the release bearing is separate from the throw out bearing also known as pilot bushing .. the pilot bushing /throw out bearing is located in the end of crank shaft on the engine. .
Here is a quick question ( If you have time ) I am changing my clutch, flywheel, thowout bearing ect. on my 91 YJ. With the cluch out the jeep won't move and sounds like hell. Not sure if this is the clutch or transmission ( I am replacing the clutch) Is there a way to check the transmission without putting it all back together ? I'm not a youtuber so I don't want to do it twice like you did. By the way THANK YOU so much for this series on the clutch and transmission.
Hey new follower, watched your videos on son in law xj clutch replacement but I have a internal slave cylinder and I can not get it loose What is the trick, looks like you just slide sleeve into but I can’t get it loose Any advice would be greatly appreciated
I need help!! You seem to be the wisest person to ask because no one seems to be able to help me. I've watched many of your jeep yj videos but I need more info. I have a 1993 jeep wrangler yj. I believe my master cylinder hose that connects to slave cylinder is bad. I can't find any literature on how to replace. I see so many videos on how to replace the internal slave but nothing beyond that. How do I replace the slave hose to the master? Please and thank you!
Is the result of the Slave Cylinder going bad that the Jeep wont move if its in gear and you release the clutch? My 92 just stopped working and I can move the gear shifter but nothing moves. Also, you wouldnt happen to know where the vin number is stamped on the chassis of 92 Jeep wrangler would be, Im trying to find the it but the frame was painted many years ago and I cant find information anywhere as to where the vin number is stamped on the chassis. the reason for needing to know that is in order to ship the Jeep off island (Puerto Rico) the police need to see the number. Appreciate your help.
Can anyone tell me if the NV3550 and the NSG370 use the same throwout bearing, when mated to the jeep 4.0L? NV3550 (5 speed) used in jeep wrangler 2000-2004, NSG370 (6 speed) used in jeep wrangler 2005-2006.
Hello, I’m building a ax 15 and piecing it together. I am missing parts and pieces and can’t seem to figure out the name for some of these parts. So I was wondering what the rubber grommet that holds the hydraulic lines exiting the transmission is called
Did you bleed your clutch after doing this? Or change transmission fluid or transfer case fluid? If yes for the latter two, when did you do that? Before starting the new clutch process or after you put everything back together? Thanks!
Hi Dale, I have a 2001 nv3550. I replaced the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, TO bearing, fork, pilot bearing and fork clip. Now it rattles at temperature, in neutral with the pedal released. I removed the starter and can see the clip is still......clipped. I heard of this happening but no real solution. Any ideas before I take it apart?
What brand did you use? I’ve heard OEM is the most reliable but they do not make them anymore. And a lot of people can have leaking issues with aftermarket brands within weeks to months.
I replaced mine a year ago and it's leaking again .. I'm going to do the external slave cylinder mod instead of replacing this crappy internal set up ...
Can you provide me with a supplier for a rubber grommet in the bellhousing? I can't find one and its the only thing keeping from re-installing the engine. Thank you
How many shots did it take to land your hat? Another great video, but how are you doing with those fires up there? Hope you and your family are safe and doing well. Thanks
Haha! about 3 tries. LOL. We are doing ok. Our house is safe at the moment, but still lots of fires in the area. Smoke is terrible. But this shall pass...
Something I've done on my 92 YJ when I replaced the internal slave. That little roll pin and clip that holds the slave in place came out on me once right after replacing the total clutch assembly. To keep that from happening again, I tapped and screwed the slave in place. Adding a bit of blue Lock tight to the threads. The roll pin in my opinion was bad engineering move!
@@idalieholcomb5126 The slave is supposed to move on the shaft freely. The roll pin and lock type washer is supposed to hold the slave housing in place. IF is comes out then the slave moves in an angle or fore and aft when supposed to be secured. As I mentioned, my roll pin came out just after putting in the trans after a few days and it was back to square one! I figured to tap and screw it in place was a better option.
I noticed your rubber grommet looks pretty new. Where did you purchase it from. I can only find grommets with a single hole not the double hole like yours. I have a 1993 Jeep 2.5L with the AX5 trans.
I don't know your name or I don't know how to do it but I like your clochet video. I'm Mexican and I look at you. I want to put the clochet. My question is. The clochet liquid is gone and the canvios do not work well and I put it and if they fit well I have to change all the clochet or just the silindro because it does not smell like clochet what masó no more does not enter the changes you think and speak Spanish translate is after the Jeep the Wrangler 1989 I have to knock down all the transmission that you think thanks is but your answer
Man these vids are awesome! Been sitting on my 1989 Cherokee 2 door for 6 years knowing someday I would be getting to it, 2021 is that time, thanks.
Great video as always.
Stay safe and keep that family of yours safe.
Oh and wear a mask outside too that smoke can mess you up.
Thank you, I will

Thank you! Will do
same here I am glad you guys are ok
Thank you! Super smokey out, but immediate fire danger to our home is better.
Hope you guys are safe up there with all the fires! One thing to note, the rubber grommet around the hydraulic lines is backwards.😎
I broke 2 clips for the stud and also mine came with a new stud am i supposed to relace that and if so how?
What would happen if the trans in the whole thing was assembled up in the truck without putting that retaining clip on the throwout bearing
That would of been a good video doing the conversion external slave cylinder, I have been wanting to do that for a long time
Yeah. Maybe in the future.
Wassup. the grommet at time stamp 2:17 for the clutch pipes. where can i buy that from. i can’t find it anywhere
We put on a plastic aftermarket one and it wouldn't bleed, put the original aluminum one back on because only the clip fell out and line fell out,put your clips in the back so they won't fall out
Can you do a conversion to a Peugot transmission bolted to a 4.2?
Great video!! Is the procedure the same for a 1989 cherokee with a 4.0 and internal slave?
@JeepSolid if my slave cylinder came with the straps snapped can i still install it like that?
what size wrench did you use on the bleeder valve? mine is smaller than 5/16 or 8.
If my slave cylinder continues to fail after new installation, is it because I didn't have the clutch itself replaced as well?
Very informative
Good to see you and family are safe. Keep that garage door down, the air quality is not good out there.
Oh man! It's terrible out right now.

Is there a big difference in the slave cylinder of a BA10 and AX15?

Mine makes a rattling kind of sound only in fifth gear. Can’t even use fifth. Any ideas what my issue would be?

Buen día el collarin que es para el 2.5 es compatible para el 4.0 ??

Were the internal slave cylinders only on the AX15 transmissions? Or were they also on the AX5?
Hello friend what type of clutch do I need for my Jeep Comanche 1989 2.5 4 cylinders. thanks

Did this work well ? I knowe how sloppy it sits around the shaft. Or is it designed to be free moving

@@klb1956 so it worked better and eliminated it falling into the fingers to the pressure plate ?
As supposed to the e clip
The lock washer has internal teeth, like a Hillman washer. This bites on the roll pin holding the slave housing in place.

did you have any luck finding the double hole grommet? Same problem here
Anyone have any follow up on this? Cant find them anywhere
I’ve been searching the comments for this lol😂
Same. Junk yard would be a good place to start.
Why not go ahead and convert to external slave while you have it out? I did it on my 88 YJ.
Hoping this one lasts a decade.
why no external slave cylinder mod?
Be a good idea, but hoping this one lasts for a long time.

the word you are looking for is rubber grommet not bushing just my opinion
I think your opinion is correct
