  • How favorite Harold Finch has been assigned a cover as a college professor. He fits the bill. However, he doesn't seem to give too much goodwill into the role. Finch feels a little to real in it...

    math is not about manipulating numbers
    that's computations or something like that and any monkey should be able to do it
    That's why we let our phones (or calculators, or softwares sometimes) do it.
    Math is something far more elegant, beautiful and amazing. Software usually cant do that for you.

      Ajmal safi
      Well math is a language that can express natural or physical or even non-physical phenomena.
      Math itself is not about none of those however
      Math is abstract for the most part and so it’s ultimately about nothing. That’s why it could be used for everything

    • @omarabdelaty634
      @omarabdelaty634 5 лет назад +1

      Ajmal safi
      That doesn’t mean that carrying out computations in one’s mind is not fun though.
      It’s however not very efficient and ultimately that girl is partially right. If i need to manipulate numbers i let my calculator ( or MATLAB if it’s rather complicated) do it for me.
      Because then i can use the saved time to model the system , interpret the data, develop physical solutions that may include a greater amount of innovation and pure thinking rather than waste it to solve say a partial differential equation numerically by hand
