Well. Had a bull guard on my Nissan Armada couple years ago. I slid while doing a left turn, tried to do a small drift but TC messed me up so i end up hitting the guard rail on the right, the bull guard saved my front end. :D all I had to do was loosen the bolts to re-align it back to normal.

I ordered this push bumper (GRH 3150B) for my 04 Silverado back in March 21’ through Summit. It was back ordered forever and just received it in Aug. I paid $293 for it and I thought of cancelling the order a few times but the price was already at $325 or so. Summit kept pushing up the expected date so I contacted Go Rhino directly twice. I finally got confirmation from them it was shipping in a couple weeks and I got it in the middle of Aug. Thanks a lot Corona

Well, here in Mexico we have them to use them as RamBars. It is a safety issue for us dealing with drug cartels daily. Generally, the best I've seel is to have custom made brackets on the bottom, middle and top of the push bar to make it really sturdy not just to take most of the hit, but to actually take it all like a champion. Yes, It will get sort of damaged, but it will allow you to hit a car, move it out of the way and keep going without significant damage to your vehicle, your radiator or any parts that could prevent you from keep going on. It also helps when you actually install an offroad steel bumper with that bull guard on top ankered to the chasis in a higher place like the radiator top bracing.

@@---tx9xx I've only seen Iron Bullbumpers tested that way and they seem like the real deal. Now, they are expensive for my pocket and I would have to take my van to them so that they can make me one cuz they don make any for the chevy express van. But they might have one for your truck.
The other way is the way I'm doing it... build one out of 1/4" square tubing and 3/16" steel plate. I'm making a frame out of the tubing and the "body out of the plate. Im gonna bolt it directly to the frame of the van with 1/2" diameter bolts and making sure the frame is stabilized by the bumper itself so it doesn't move in case of collision.
I learned that modern frames use accelerometers and other sensors to decide if the airbags have to go off, but if the frame doesn't shift, It is less likely to set them off and seize the vehicle.

Really they should just be called bump guard.
In terms of strength from weakest to strongest:
      1) brush guard (mostly decoration)
      2) bull (bump) guard. (In video)
      3) push guard (in video)
      4) ram guard.
A steel bull guard can protect against hitting animals, or “bumping” other cars/objects. Not gonna save you in a 40+mph wreck, or allow you to ram/push cars lol.

Question, in an accident considering a lot of these are mounted to the frame, how much more protected is the person? You’ll see an accident where the other car is totaled, and the car with the guard is relatively fine. But internally is the entire frame kaput?

Someone at the off road store told me to avoid push bars because they can damage the radiator and other internal stuff on an accident because of the top brackets being close to them and pushing them in on impact.. is that true? any thoughts on that vs bull bars that just help out a little bit?
