If only my exhaust looked as clean as that! Although, I must say there is a crucial step missing at 2.05 which is the cursing and swearing when the flat part of the screw clamp doesn't stay connected to the wrap.
Seems to me that you could just make this yourself with a sheet of tin and a hose clamp. I don't think it matters what you use, so long as it's able to withstand heat and keeps the sealant in place - which is what this is for.

total fail man. that wrap thing might be useful if it's only a small hole in the middle section of the pipe. but your pipe is way past beyond repair. sounds exactly the same as before
Have you ever changed the rear gate trunk support shocks on jeep grand cherokee? manyautosltd.com/exhaust-repair did Two new front tyres and a new exhaust for £150 less than I had been quoted elsewhere and they did a good job. Very happy
i used no paste to thighten just like tin can material but bigger coffeecan say twenty cm long on short flex so big it went at least two circles or more cut inch or two in ends with finger wide space between cuts so can can come down on ends and it worked today in the way l wanted , the power of car is more cos backpressure is better. but how long to melt the can dunno cos it leaks a bit , but small leak is better for gas milage , cat seems too tight. would be good to put a stiffer metal long plate over the seam to prevent gaps in tin can edge between clamps
The car is really clean underneath and I can’t believe the pipe is rotten I guess though condensation will rot them out why don’t you put a hanger to stop exhaust from moving that prob helped it crack were it was rusted
Just fix that for $210. Need a new why pipe, first guy trying to charge me $680 but buy the pipe and find a reasonable guy who install it for $120. I think the first guy make that hole in the mesh section on both mufflers, because when I bring it to him there was no holes in the mesh section . I look for that hole and couldn’t find it but after he takes it in his shop and I say no to him installing his $500 expensive muffler that just cost me $90 I clearly see the two matching holes and the sound change from comfortable to scary unbearableness. I will tell everyone I know never to go anywhere near that muffler shop.
Ge Onny You do know that the pinch weld is usually the manufacturer recommended lift point right? Jacking up on the pinch weld is NOT bad for a unibody car. Stop thinking it is.
Depends, on where the crack is, if it has too much vibration where the crack is, the fix won't last long, I'd just get new headers off eBay or scrapyard
ghettohillbilly1 Muffler wrap works, long as you apply it the same way. Use exhaust sealer first, let it dry, add the wrap then cover it with sealer and let it dry. I did that on a car intending to replace the exhaust, ended up lasting about 8 years with no leak. Half of the exhaust was a patch job, but if you don't have a MIG welder it's cheaper than a muffler shop. I do the same with clamped exhaust. I put a thin layer of sealer on the pipe, put the clamp on and then seal over the clamp. Keeps it from leaking and keeps the clamp from vibrating loose.
Remember to "reset" the ECU. I think I just learned that when I reinstalled a part of my intake that I realized was making me lose power instead of giving me more power lol
TutoBuild Eng I think the OP was asking how long this repair lasts before it starts leaking again. I would guess 1-2 years until it leaks again and / or another part of the flex pipe / exhaust system springs a different leak. Just my humble opinion though.
Well actually.. it probably lasts about 25 minutes for real. Back in high school I couldn't afford replacement exhaust parts so I ran the whole gauntlet of muffler bandages, pipe gunk, hacksaws, clamps and adaptors-- and I counted myself lucky if mickey-mouse work like this lasted long enough to get a sticker (inspection) And that's if the inspector is too lazy to block the outlet with his hand and listen for leaks. (Catch 'em first thing Monday morning, preferably when it's cold outside. They don't usually feel like being pricks that early in the workweek.) Nowadays it's just easier for me to replace the whole damned thing from the cats to the end every three years or so for AutoZone crap-pipe, a lot longer if I shell out a few more bucks and get OEM parts from the Stealership, except the OEM stuff on our 06 Pontiac van is still there. Another set of OEM pipes will outlast the vehicle.
Kept waiting for the car to fall down, might want to review how to jack a car up with 4 Jack Stands rather than give advice about placing rear tires on ramps. Glad you are OK!
the car sounds the same as before and sounds like the car needs lots of work not been taken care of its seems like its at the end of this cars life half ass repair weld a piece of pipe or get a exhaust pipe not the glue and sheet metal cheap repair won't last
who ever made the video good job as for the "nigga" rigging I disagree. but sometimes you can't drive a old classic to a muffler shop and most classics that need muffler shops aren't legal! Replace the police.
Thanks for posting, this seems like a cheap and simple way of fixing a simple leak which is just what I have on my vehicle at the moment.
If only my exhaust looked as clean as that!
Although, I must say there is a crucial step missing at 2.05 which is the cursing and swearing when the flat part of the screw clamp doesn't stay connected to the wrap.
lolllll
I've done this with a baked bean tin, cut with tinsnips, and gungum. Car went through MOT as well, inspector said it was fine as it didn't leak!!
2:12 nice fart
I didn't hear it. I smelt it though.
it sounds like he was hungry
Def not a fart notice his breathing haha 😆
You wouldn’t think it but this video has one of the funniest comments sections on you tube.
I just use some jb steel stick, a hose clamp, and a pop can. Didn't know they made a fancy version of it.
flat head screws should be banned.
+Louis Cypher I DONT NEED TO SEE THE DUDES NOSE AT 1.55- I SEE NOSE HAIRS MAN--- AHEWW
To be fair, I've stripped far more Philips heads than flatheads. Torx, never.
They're more fiddly but they can take more torque so good for this kind of application imo.
Just use a ratchet and socket, far quicker and no slipping
how long did it take the carbon monoxide to get into the passenger compartment and fry your brain
Good job bro!
The next repair use the bosal repair paste, and run engine just 10 minute!!!
:):):)Perfect !
Excellent video
Seems to me that you could just make this yourself with a sheet of tin and a hose clamp. I don't think it matters what you use, so long as it's able to withstand heat and keeps the sealant in place - which is what this is for.
That's a lot of goop! Well done! He's also made a new tow point on that vehicle. He'll be showing that video in a few hours by the sound of that motor
🤣🤣🤣
Seems like you have bad engine mounts too.

बहुत ही अच्छा जुगाड़ है
02:10 Give this fucking guy a sandwich :)
HAHAHA i heard that too!
why jack it up if you have the ramps....wtf?
front bumper probably too low to use ramps on the front wheels.
they are a cunt to drive up.
Because he knows they are one weld joint crack away from collapsing.
Nice quick fix. I was thinking what are these products he is using that i have not seen? What is that paste? Can we get that here in the USA? Thanks.
+Michael Hammer - Moses
HI!
Use the Bosal repair paste!
We're to buy this
Sounded exactly the same as before. Exhaust was about to fall off anyway lol
right wtf I'm confused
Exactly. I thought I was the only one that observed it
Not true actually. It had a lower pitch rumbling bucket of bolts sound, now it has a high pitch!
🤣
kendra hafer 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks man ! Cheers !
Quick fixs are not never permanent. So far, i've tested....so i ended up buying a welder. The End.
+TheNoobComment Did you try JB Weld for exhausts? Ive not used it for decades but it never failed me.
+GibsonLesPaul2273 toward the headers it gets really hard and flakes off, but near middle name r end it would be fine
A very poor generalization. You better not have any glue, or duct tape in your household.
gets you another 12mths MOT though!
Is it necessary to keep the car jacked up for 12 hours the paste dries? Or can I bring it down after applying the paste while it dries?
Krystian Tomczuk RRALLY DUDE ffs
total fail man. that wrap thing might be useful if it's only a small hole in the middle section of the pipe. but your pipe is way past beyond repair. sounds exactly the same as before
Looks like you have more than one leak that won't be fixed with a hose clamp and glue
Have you ever changed the rear gate trunk support shocks on jeep grand cherokee? manyautosltd.com/exhaust-repair did Two new front tyres and a new exhaust for £150 less than I had been quoted elsewhere and they did a good job. Very happy
nice job, well done,,,,
Prepare for fart at 2:08
Nice catch lol.
it was his tummy rumbling.
hey TutoBuild Eng, did you have put-put? lol
Lol I heard that, and it was for the extra torque.
I agree. An empty stomach. More like a belly fart.
sounded better with the leaking exhaust???
Can you pass inspection with this?
It’s still seem kind of loud to me
انت مهندس angner❤
Note to all you kids out there: Its unsafe to repair your car in a members only jacket.
Would this work on a small hole on a crossover pipe?
i used no paste to thighten just like tin can material but bigger coffeecan say twenty cm long on short flex so big it went at least two circles or more cut inch or two in ends with finger wide space between cuts so can can come down on ends and it worked today in the way l wanted , the power of car is more cos backpressure is better. but how long to melt the can dunno cos it leaks a bit , but small leak is better for gas milage , cat seems too tight. would be good to put a stiffer metal long plate over the seam to prevent gaps in tin can edge between clamps
R50 vs R2000. Might consider this
Sounds like you need to work on your bowel leak (2:12) more than the car exhaust leak. Ha ha
I hear absolutely no sound difference
Listen with headphones the first noise was boomy and louder
You've got another leak in front before cat. thanks for video
Is that your stomach growling at 2:11
Glad I'm not the only person to recognise that sound 😂
A baby fart @ 2:25 if im not mistaken..
i like the idea but i think it might just be best to replace the pipe
That exhaust wobble though
lol😆
YEAH THAT'LL HOLD
FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES
Я жутко извиняюсь _ну и на сколько времени хватит этого,, волшебного,,клея?
0:08 2:58
Would have been somewhat ok if you'd gummed both sides of the clamp.
The car is really clean underneath and I can’t believe the pipe is rotten I guess though condensation will rot them out why don’t you put a hanger to stop exhaust from moving that prob helped it crack were it was rusted
I have a hole on the mesh of my flex pipe can this work on the flex pipe itself or only solid pipe?
Just fix that for $210. Need a new why pipe, first guy trying to charge me $680 but buy the pipe and find a reasonable guy who install it for $120. I think the first guy make that hole in the mesh section on both mufflers, because when I bring it to him there was no holes in the mesh section . I will tell everyone I know never to go anywhere near that muffler shop.
Its movement puts stress on joints over time
I desmounted the pipe and welded it, I made a video about.
This will not last long, so only use it as a short term measure.
is that a turbo diesel?
would this work to hold exhaust like for example my car exhaust came completely off
no
Better off wielding it
where can i buy this stuff? i have checked with advanced autos, autozone, napa and carquest none of them carry it.
Ebay
is it a diesel.
?
How are those blue thing called in english at 0:49?
AmursUzNaglas they’re called “ramps”.
Did I just see someone lift their car with, then put jack stands under their rocker panels?
Jacking up a car on the pinch weld is pretty normal.
pinch welds....you must not work around cars thats pretty normal to support a unibody on the lift
Ge Onny You do know that the pinch weld is usually the manufacturer recommended lift point right? Jacking up on the pinch weld is NOT bad for a unibody car. Stop thinking it is.
you do realise i was saying its okay and you somehow confused what i said
trevor johnstun I was replying to somebody else. He deleted his comment.
GUN GUM STYLE
Would this work on headers?
Depends, on where the crack is, if it has too much vibration where the crack is, the fix won't last long, I'd just get new headers off eBay or scrapyard
better then muffler wrap, but still just a temp fix
ghettohillbilly1 Muffler wrap works, long as you apply it the same way. Use exhaust sealer first, let it dry, add the wrap then cover it with sealer and let it dry. sounds like "the loner" from the mask
Hahaha

Sorry I meant how long did exhaust last after repair?
I can't really answer because I made the repair only one month ago. Until now, it's ok. Wait and see...
TutoBuild Eng what about now?
Big Lebowski No leak after 9 months. All ok.
Robert Barbrow No leak after 9 months. All ok.
What about now?
anyone know where you can find the Holts Gun Gum Flexiwrap in Canada?
David Capstick ebay?
your car sounded like a diesel at the end
is that a diesel engine
How long did repair last for.?
The repair lasted for 25 minutes + 12 hours to harden. You can either run the engine slowly for 30 minutes to harden.
TutoBuild Eng
I think the OP was asking how long this repair lasts before it starts leaking again. I would guess 1-2 years until it leaks again and / or another part of the flex pipe / exhaust system springs a different leak. Just my humble opinion though.

Will it pass the emission test if you don’t fix it?
How long did this last?
7 days with luck
Long enough for him to "Fart" again.
Great good jod
What kind of car is that? Just want to add that car to my cars to avoid list.
Lol you're going to avoid a car because it develops an exhaust leak over time?
1st gen Ford Mondeo/Ford Contour
Kept waiting for the car to fall down, might want to review how to jack a car up with 4 Jack Stands rather than give advice about placing rear tires on ramps. Glad you are OK!
What a loada crap !!!

Maybe its just me but, does anyone notice that its just as loud after as before? NVM just noticed in the comments its a diesel.
Lol why did yueven post th comment then?
at the local exhaust shop that would cost around $30 to cut rusted piece and weld coupler on.
+Serge R But nearly all will try to take you for much more than that
Thats truth
I was quoted much more than that for a similar fix
Putting the jack stands under the rocker panels??? Lmfao
Just change ur car please for goodsake
