Very good and informative video. Personally, I would have replaced everything given how rusty it was. But I also know sometimes you have to do less than ideal to make it another week. The aluminum foil was a cool trick but bear in mind the dissimilar metals will create a galvanic cell once water and salt gets on it. Another thing you can try is either muffler cement or muffler tape. The tape is fiberglass impregnated with muffler cement. Same idea as the aluminum foil but it forms a chemically neutral bond.
I like it. Exhaust work isn't a DIY repair for many people, but you demonstrated how to make a perfectly safe and effective exhaust with no welding at all.!
I agree, you have a lot of good points here. Some things I would have done differently. But it's a good video. Thank you again.. My Pastor always taught us: you can learn something from everybody if you keep an open mind.
Hey dude whoever you are you are one bad ass dude hats off to you buddy you made it real easy and simple for me to have this flexi pipe exhaust repair kit to my 04 Nissan Maxima the catalytic converter is blown out it's got a big old hole in it it's losing power eating a lot of gas sounds like s*** and you help me fix my problem dude and I really appreciate you man I hope you and your family have a blessed and wonderful day and year thank you for everything with this video and for anybody who reads my comment y'all need to see this video and he breaks it down and and makes it really easy and simple for anybody who wants to repair their exhaust and if you don't believe me oh well that's your loss not man but then again thank you buddy I really appreciate you man have a wonderful wonderful life peace out
Cut bean can and ends off down side take paper off perfect A cut bean can cut down side and cut like flower can go on ends of exhaust box if rusted or get you home are have garden wire in car so if it snaps on trip you can sort it
Very informative, thanks. One question tho: why did you cut and replace just the flex part instead of buying a whole new pipe and just bolting it on? Is it just cheaper this way? I ask because the flex pipe on my car needs to be replaced.
Just buy the new assembly it is around 100 euros/dollars and costs about the same as all the things he showed plus it only takes 2 hours to replace not 4 days and will last! no brainer really. I would only do this method if you only need the car to run for 3 months or so and wanted to spend as little money as possible.
How much do you think it would cost to put the pipe back onto my car cause mine fell off completely and I don’t want to pay a crap ton of money it doesn’t have holes in it or anything but it’s straight pipes for a 2004 Audi S4
Not to be a jerk, great video by the way man but this wouldn’t pass a smog emissions test in California. Any modification to the headers, intake manifold, or exhaust manifold, including removal of a "Y" tube from the exhaust pipes (if equipped) is considered an emissions tamper. Your vehicle will fail the smog inspection even before the tailpipe exhaust is checked.
It won't fail the test because of that ( at least on this car ) but it's true in some countries will not approve this build + it's meant as a temporary fix like when the exhaust falls due to rust and the car is cheap / u want drive it few more km before scraping it .
Yeah dude, it would definitely work for a quick fix if the vehicle is already smog tested/passed. Here in California, they’re are very picky but it’s good they are. Keeps our air clean, who doesn’t like good quality air Ahaha. Good work man, keep it up.
4 days work + repair flange and coupling connectors. It looks like it's cheaper and faster installing exhaust system for vehicle. I have a 97 Altima where pipe broke off right at rear catalyst. Can that be welded?
@@doit_vehicles i got ya... but wernt you missing cats on all 3 banks anyways? Good video though much easier throwing that flex pipe in rather than weld my bank 1 cat back all the way up near the header so thanks
Im no mechanical... BUT 4 DAYS!!? Just.. I mean.... HOW? Either this isn't your car or you're posing as a mechanic to expose how garages charge $200 to replace your windshield wipers because that's maybe 4hours labor dude.
I thought it was only the labor, I didnt consider wait time for parts. That's why I was so shocked and how come im the guy searching for a "how to" video and you're the guy making them lol
This is probably the worst job I have ever seen! Aluminum foil on the exhaust? That's not going to hold. The cutting of the old resonater pipe? Why not just put the piece you have on and get a real tailpipe? You know the one that fits the car!
@@mikek.9980 I'd love to know how much that lot cost him. Coz he bought the flexi down pipe. the small extension. a middle box. and a tail pipe well that flexi pipe thing. And it took him 4 days.
All part not welded must be all into the pipe in the sens of the rear of the vehicule.. Above the pipe at front, into pipe to the rear.. Just in this sens all time !!! It's why your installation leak !

top job ,but you could have used some exhaust paste to seal instead of ally foil, but it worked & i have learnt something
There are of course some other methods out there )

Here in 🇬🇧 that would cost you about £140 fit it yourself within an hour. With a few cans. Just to help you out.

It was already place on 4 stand on s highest level possible
maybe you wouyld like him to come over an dwalk you through it too.
I would like to add that the flex tube does not hold up well and won't last long where salt is used in winter road conditions.
true , but for a cheap car which will be on the road for few more years it's ok
Hello where dis you buy the exhaust parts?
The thing you're calling a sound diffuser it's called a resonator

I live in a place where is hard to get parts , 4 days since I do this part time
