  • How to Lash Valves in 5 Minutes. My 64 Mercury Comet Build Continues. After getting the heads installed and torqued it's time to ensure your valves are lashed and adjusted properly. Although the specific procedure varies slightly depending upon your type of lifter (i.e., hydraulic vs. solid) the general premise is the same.
In this quick video I break down the process of how to lash your valves at home using some simple tools and a full proof method for success.
In the next video we will continue onward with my 64 Mercury Comet when we install the intake manifold, carburetor, and valve covers.
Finally, we will discuss the differences between a set of stock cast iron manifolds and a set of budget friendly Patriot mid length headers.
Don't forget to check out the entire build series on my Mercury by subscribing to my channel and watching the entire playlist. Thanks for watching!

Awesome video brother! I had to fly cut my pistons just like that when I had my flotek heads on.

@@truckandroll989 yes sir mine is the same pistons on my LX. The engine came out a 91 Grand Marque. I have a video on it when I did it. I used a old 1.94 valve and cut teeth on it. Worked great! The flotek heads were great! I went with a E303 cam. It’s just a stock short block 302
