I would try out Q4 plus for all your grassy weeds if what you already put down doesn’t take of it, I’ve heard great things about it and it’s supposed to also take care of your broadleaf weeds as well! Good luck Mr. Ferguson!
... maybe you can still do a strong pre-emergent treatment along the fence line this fall, and still over seed the rest of the project lawn. To help with the Poa come next spring.
Yep, ideally you want to wait 2 days after mowing, I do believe. However, I don't live there lol. And can't take the time to go back up there to spray later on. That's why we mowed then sprayed. Many lawn care companies do this as well, and things work out.
@@MrFergusonLawn watching, thought maybe you were gonna use a spectricide hose end sprayer. I used that last year on my backyard, 2x, 1 week apart. Killed 90% of the weeds.
Well I may have put that down a touch too late. I think it's working fine, it could be my timing, or just grasses that it doesn't control. Not too sure.
Yes the project lawn is spoty, but it has greened up nicely in the back. It's work in progress. It will get there you have it in you. Just takes time. It's only the first year.

Looked nice seeing you lay down the stripes and doing some trimming! Only no audio on that part of the video or when you were spraying. Maybe try some classic rock next time. ;)
I've always been poor at figuring out what weed is what. Unless it is pervasive, I just treat it and move on. Curious to see how the project lawn evolves this year.
So you have had so much pain caused by Fudilade 2 and now you chose to spray Ornamec 170? This is the same active ingredient and you spraying it on a lawn which is off label for this product. Was this advice you took? I’m confused. ORNAMENTAL (Orna) mec 170 is for killing grasses in ornamental plant beds, trees and shrubs. It only kills grasses and was never intended for use as a broadcast spray over turfgrass. I’m praying for you brother but your only hope now might be just Water, water, water 😢
Hey Harper, I absolutely read the label prior to spraying, and this is a product that is fine to spray over tall fescue, for certain reasons of course. 1. This area is bermuda central, prior to us turning over the dirt and killing it off. I fully expect it to reappear, and this product will help with that, I hope. 2. My best guess was that these weeds were possibly crabgrass that germinated prior to me getting down the dithyiopyr. That label read that it will control crabgrass, with the side benefit of hitting the bermuda too. So we will see. Perhaps the blanket spray wasn't ideal. I'm not really worried about it at all, but we shall see in a couple weeks! I don't call it "project lawn" for nothing. 😁 Either way, it's gonna be good content haha.
@@MrFergusonLawn So I see one line that says you can spray over “Fescue and Zoysia only” this is going to seriously hurt your 15% KBG. That 15% is by volume so really you are spraying over 50% KBG because there is a 5/1 ratio in seed size. I’m only saying this because I did it myself on a fescue grow in and it killed my entire lawn. My fault for pushing the envelope.
Give it some time and it will turn around! Those grassy weeds that you’ve seen are more than likely annual rye. If you pull it up and it has purple nodes it’s a good indication. If it is it will die off in the summer with heat. Dallis, crab, and goose will emerge in the summer. So you won’t be seeing those right now.
The project lawn is looking great really enjoyed the live stream congratulations to all the winners .
Thank you David
Starting my project on my lawn this year it has to warm up the weather keep playing with us in Michigan

Yep, pretty good idea
@MrFerguson, I thought for herbicides to work best, you don't cut lawn within 2 days before or after applying?

Wondering if the JG with pre-emergent should have prevented any of the weeds that appeared?

Thanks Grace, exactly right. I want it like mine NOW! Gonna take time and patience for sure.
Ever tried using a plant identifier app? Takes the guessing out when trying to identify weeds. Been a game changer for me.
I've tried Google with little success

5:26 Definitely not Dallisgrass. Lol I’ve been fighting that for past two seasons.
I still can't see your contact info lol. Let's try this. Just give me the part before the @ symbol. Is it a G Mail account?

Interested in seeing how that chemical works that yard will be amazing with all the effort your putting into it. Time and patience lol
