I thought the verticutting heads on my Toro 3250d triplex were awesome. Then, Pete says hold my beer and watch this. Awesome bit of kit that verticutter is.
Holy moly, Been a while since I have seen your new grass test areas, I cannot believe it, well I can, but you know what I mean! Absolutely looks amazing!
pete im always so jealous ofthe equipment you get your hands on while im jealous of it i know its your business and why you have access to it so i just have to remind myself to just sit back and enjoy your videos, which i do, great job pete!
Hi Pete! Does the cool blue need to be Vertacut after four years the bluegrass has spread significantly. If so should I wait and do it before overseed in the fall?
St Augustine is also rhizome spreading grass, however, it is so aggressive in it's growth that, if you time it properly, you can vertocut it but you need a wide spacing on the blades. I'd say 3-4" at a minimum
@@SingleStacked it definitely does tear them out. If you time it properly (just before it comes out of dormancy... Ok, slower growth periods, which was late February/early March around Tampa FL, it will only look rough for a few weeks and then it will look great. It really helps prevent thatch buildup
Hey Pete, not sure where my comment went, so I’ll ask again. Could a homeowner use a scarifier (set to the right height) to accomplish the same thing? Also, in your opinion, will this help with fungus in KBG? I’d think if it can breathe, moisture could escape, resulting in a less of a chance of getting fungus.
Using equipment that big how worried are you about compaction? I have a tractor with brillion overseeder that I run with and Iv always kinda been Leary about it.
Hey Pete. You see this Velocity PM herbicide for poa? It’s sold out everywhere but I bet you can get your hands on some and do a test. Seems too good to be true.
I live up in La Crosse Wisconsin we're going to start mowing soon it's almost fully green and long enough to cut a second time but I have some errors a long lawn that is so thick I can't mulch it there's no place to put it it's so thick I've been bagging it you sure isn't any weeds in it
Boy that looks like a productive machine. Great video as always. Thanks for showing me this

Amazing amount of material that gets collected!
This has quickly become my favourite channel. Great stuff Pete.
Truly awesome attachment Pete. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Wow, that thing really took out a lot of material. I'll bet your truck was full at the end of the day. Good stuff!
Thanks Pete. I can see this being valuable at the end of the season in the turf farm area.
Fantastic machine. It’s a gentle giant.
Love it I use my Allett Rotary mower with verticutting cartridge along with scarifier on my Zoysia. The lawn is green once done.
@costaht basically the same thing not much difference in the 2
Looks like the Mother of All Sunjoe Scarifiers!!! 😂
This section of turf doesn't get enough camera time, looks like sports turf.
There is something satisfying the look of verticut grass.
Best home lawn in the USA
i doubt it LOL but I do appreciate your comment sir thank you
This is sick! Tint that glass on the Deere 😎
Yeah I need to get that done for sure!
Looks that is an amazimg attachment! Def could get away with a smidge deeper just tickle the surface for that above ground debris
Good stuff Pete. That thing is awesome!
I didn’t even realize verticutting was a thing!
Super neat!!!
Great video!!! And nice equipment
I have KBG at my property in southwest Virginia that I renovated a couple years ago. Sections are screaming tight while other areas are thin.
verticut the thin areas
I was wondering what that new attachment was! Saw it in your last video
Looks amazing
verticutting is great for getting rid of zoysia which grows like lichen/moss
Hi Pete! Does the cool blue need to be Vertacut after four years the bluegrass has spread significantly. If so should I wait and do it before overseed in the fall?
you still using the irrigreen system on the kbg?

I was wondering how it would do on St.Aug. Seems it would rip out a lot of stolons.

I think there are 2 times you may want to do this to other turf grasses. When you want to seed and maybe some major leveling work
What do you recommend as the equivalent for thinning out your TTTF/KBB grass (85/15 blend)?
Pete, could a home owner use a scarifier to clean up KBG? If you set the height right, would it work the same?
Seems like it could be used as a “power rake “
You Lost weight Pete.
Looking Good!
28 pound so far!
You need a dump trailer!
I have a 16’ dump trailer that’s got 6’ tall sides

I gotta say, I think that company would have higher sales if they chose a different paint scheme. That baby hurts my eyeballs 😂
Lol
Instead of verticutting could you just dethatch?
Yes would resemble the same thing but not exactly the same. I’ll try and make a video showing how diy can verticut
@@GCITurf I have my own business, just can’t afford a verticutter yet. And ventrac doesn’t make an attachment to do so.🤣
@@Zanderthelab I been begging them to make turf care equipment including a verticutter
In Australia we have a mower called a flail mower similar to a rotary hoe
This not fair to your neighbors, there is way too much domination. 💪
Isn’t that kinda like power raking and catching it at the same time? Close to the same concept?
Gonna be a game changer for your Bermuda clients 🤙
Who hooo

I'd love to know as well!
I have 6 jugs of it on hand I will put it to the test
@@GCITurf looking forward to that. Thanks, Pete.
@@GCITurf Would love to see how effective it is on Triv!
Alex, Ill take things my customers dont want to pay for but I love to do for $500 please 😁
my clients do in fact pay me to verticut their turf.
@@GCITurf Oh I now Pete, Im saying I just cant sell this anymore for residential
I think you took this the wrong way. Apologize for the confusion
@@daflea66 lol. Yeah I thought you was saying no need for the equipment cause folks won’t pay for the service. 😂. I’m following what you’re saying now

Pete do you only go in one directions or do you go over twice in multiple directions?
my blue heat turf in the spring going into summer - one dirrection... bermuda I would possible make a double pass
Why don't you come up here and verticut my lawn it won't need to be done until mid August but by that time it's too hot
Bad to the bone attachment
what about the dude in the video? Is he bad to the bone? Or is he just bad bones??
@@GCITurf yeah he looks like his bones are bad. Lol
@@dailyDIYdude 😂😂😂 BAH HA HA HA I bet you won’t tell him that 😂😂😂
lol … verticutters massive
