Picked up my Extreme yesterday at the discounted price. I find this vehicle really enjoyable and fun to drive. Its comfortable, quiet, handles well, looks great, has excellent build quality, range is insane and has impressive options and performance. True the software is a work in progress but can be fixed and upgraded in future versions like Tesla did early on. I can't imagine one of the established US or foreign automakers not picking up the Fisker intellectual property and completing the project. Hopefully, it will include taking on the service and warranty obligations for existing Ocean owners. 🙏

I agree - ANY OFFER. Henrik can't believe he has any rights now. It's not about him. It's about the employees, owners, Magna, etc.
The EV can survive. The service has adapted. Magna has been more than capable of manufacturing quality cars and the IP would become the domain of whoever buys the company.

My issue with this news is that Fisker puts things out like this, like with the Nissan merger and it all turns out to be fluff to keep people invested in the company. Based on how Fisker has handled this company, I just can't believe anything he puts out anymore. And as for it being an internal meeting. Does that mean he and his family had dinner to talk about the impending doom? I thought all the positions of power were all family members? It's a shame really, because it does look like he had some great vehicles in the works and I'd have loved to gotten a Pear.
The new board members reflect a bankruptcy filing. There were definitely several dinners. Based on the current situation, not many were jovial.

That's it so heartbreaking because the ocean is such a cool car. The people my heart breaks the most for are those employees who poured their blood sweat and tears they didn't go to family functions they worked extra hours because they thought this company was going to make it!

If it wasn’t for the fact they have Dubel and Deutsche Bank involved (and others), I’d pretty much completely dismiss this, however, with those guys now essentially running the company, I think there’s a chance this may be true. Whether or not a deal can be closed in time before the company completely runs out of money, however……

>$1billion of debt is a big ask of a buyer to finance - we’ve seen similar sized buy outs of failing companies in Europe but there’s always been a write down of the debts or basically the buyer has bought the company for €1 and covered the debt and usually the failing company has something like tech or IP that the buyer is really keen to get their hands on and prepared to swallow that bitter pill. How many automotive companies are there out there with the cash/ loan ability to cover that amount of debt? Certainly not any of the Japanese car makers and very few of the European car makers could afford to cover that size of debt. There might be an Indian conglomerate or a Chinese one but even the Chinese would have a few wobbles about taking that much debt and Fisker doesn’t have anything really special in the tech or IP that the Chinese would want to buy.
But Fisker has a kind of access to the US market which is usually quite strange for Chinese and their way of thinking. They believe it is horrible to get their feet into the american market and such a buyer would pay something for such easier entry even though a detour.
And they would not pay anything and they must be also in need for a new market which means a stable production and limited success in their domestic market.
Come on man, that Taco Tray is such a game changing technology. Worth atleast half a billion. And don't forget about California mode, it rolls down ALL the windows. Who would risk the farm on that type of tech.

Perfect summary Adam, I concur 100%. I also think that if there has been any interest from existing automakers, they would mostly be Chinese. Remember that Fisker Automotive (Henrik's previous bankrupt car company) was also sold off to Chinese buyers thru its bankruptcy.

great job, well done, and it must be really time consuming to dig deeper and deeper into the Fisker underground always asking yourself why you have bought this car and not a "usual" one like all the others.
At the end you have a very limited edition which will no longer increase, but decrease one way or the other.

I would not recommend this car.
Not sure there’s any control Henrick can have over his designs (sketches really), just a customer list. Contracts, engineering, and IP with Magna will be separately negotiated. There is no going-concern, no goodwill to acquire.

But the fact that no emphasis is being put on customer.service and servicing vehicles already sold.... Is a bit of a tell tale sign.
With that said... I already know GM servicing departments had internal emails on Fisker. GM is definitely 1 of the supposed 4 looking.

I wonder if the ultimate buyer would even want the brand… I’m thinking it would be a badge swap opportunity at best. But who knows, people find strange value in a lot of things written off by others.

I received my Ultra at end of January. I received the 2.0 OTA update Easter Sunday without issue and am enjoying the ride. I received my license plate and registration within the 90-day temp tag timeframe. I also received a phone call last week following-up on receipt of the tag and an e-mail this morning to make sure I am taken care of. The last two interactions don't seem to be those of a company on death's door. PS. I also scheduled a visit from a Fisker tech in Feb. and had Raymond come out and assist me prior to the 2.0 update. My experience seems to be better than most.

There is no such thing as a Fisker lease in the US. Are you located in North America?

Problem is what would they be buying? They dont own anything production related, just designs.
As far as I could read in the 10k they own the FM29 Platform, which was created together with Magna. So this should be, beside the design, an asset, as with that platform many different cars could be built. But I do not know exactly...

At the beginning of the year there was probably ONE offer from the Nissan corner. And there was probably ONE offer from Stellantis recently. Since Nissan wants to work with Honda and probably a third party when it comes to e-mobility, there are 3 partners from the first offer and one from the second offer. According to HF's understanding of mathematics - a total of 4 interested parties. 😉
What both offers had in common was that the new gentlemen would also bring their management with them and HF should have resigned (including his wife). That's probably why it failed in both cases. In both cases, Fisker would have been saved and safe for years. Because of his stubbornness, >400 Fisker employees have now been laid off and another 500 at Magna. It won't do any good if he sells his house now...
Both offers are probably off the table for now. We are heading towards an insolvency that could have been avoided weeks ago, including a golden handshake and securing Fisker Ocean's life's work.

The cars are still worth a lot if you had those on your parking lot, they are still in the books of Fisker.
Deutsche Bank is leading Henrik Fisker out of the mess or forcing him out of the company which would mean that no bank would work with him again. Therefore I guess there will be a solution but it is impossible to tell if that will happen before or after bankrupcy declaration.
I would bet AFTER cause in this case the warranty obligations are gone. But who would buy Fisker when ev market especially in the USA is in high water, the brands reputation could not sink any further and the assets are limited, most likely the cars if they have been paid fully and the patents and maybe some additional rights / licences they own and have given to Magna to be used in their behalf.
Why should I buy now if I can get it later for cheap. And of cause Henrik talking to employees about 4 potential buyers pushes the likelihood of a buyout before bankrupcy is declared cause they all know that there would be a competition afterwards to get Fisker. But that could be a bet on a poker table without the asses needed to win. Just a gamble but deutsche bank could let the one and only know that he is bidding alone which might hurt them a bit but they would get rid off Henrik this way for sure.
The only companies that could benefit a bit from the whole mess are chinese manufacturers which haven not entered the US market yet and would get access to a sales force - if that has not already quitted their jobs. Anyone else will struggle with all the fisker oceans and start with high burdens like the pile of inventory that has to be sold right now, the unhappy old customers waiting for 2.0 and hoping for 4.0 or more.

The Fisker is an American independent EV Company. I bet the big 3 automakers and the fossil fuel industry may have fired torpedoes at Fisker, Lucid, Rivian, etc. to discredit American independent companies. EV's were threatening the ICE industry too soon.
Henrik shot himself in the foot because he rushed his car to market before the car and the business plan was vetted.

I would think that it is possible that some auto manufacturers are interested in potentially purchasing Fisker. Think about this fact, many Chinese EV companies want access to the US & EU market. Fisker has that access it is something that a Chinese EV company could use. And if they can get it cheap, that could be the foot in the door that they are wanting. Same reason why Geely paid 1.8 billion for a 78.7% stake in Volvo! Granted Volvo was in way better shape than Fisker is. How to put a price on access to the US & EU markets.
Access to the US markets is the best asset Fisker has.
I highly doubt 10k just appeared in conjunction with deadlines. The noteholder still wants masked. Why even do it if BK is so near. Why do the 2.0 or open dealers. There will be a deal and Assume its multiple parts. A short term loan does nothing long term. Will noteholder file form 13 or did they sell? If they're sold before bankruptcy, Fisker's stock price will reflect the sales price. For example, if they're selling at 420, the shares will move towards 420 a share, with the reliability of the news or rumor dictating how quickly the price moves.

Toyota should grab them, but it would be interesting to see if a company like Apple were to weight in.

Having followed Henrik Fisker for many years now, the lie about being in negotiations with various other companies is one of his favorites. Extremely unlikely four automakers have signed an NDA and are considering purchasing the company and in terms of due diligence a couple minutes on Google would suffice to end any thoughts of acquisition. Why buy a company with no assets, employees that at best 1% are worth keeping around, a software with more bugs than an ant hill, a product with very little remaining demand...and some CGI of future products?

While Henrik might be a great car designer, he and his wife have no clue how to run a company. Their mis-management of income is borderline criminal. His ego is disconnected from reality.

At the end the information given to the employees is telling the 4 involved potential buyers that there are more right now and most likely even after case B which means that one of these could think about getting it now incl. 1 billion of debt or fighting afterwards for Fisker in a bidding fight and pay more or less but without the previous debts.
I love some wait and see.

My experience with company acquisitions in the past is that the only thing they want is the technology like patents. They don't give a crap about current product or consumer.

No, he has read for us the facts incl. the quote. He showed Henriks messages to the employees or what has been reported and then talked about what this could mean. Could means he is telling his opinion and weighing the different aspects quite carefully based on the limited amount of information and i can tell you from over 40 years in the car industry after I had gotten my Matura and had been hired by 3 of the big german brands that what he is doing is quite a tough and time consuming job researching topics with a lot of roots overseas in Europe.
You have bought an austrian made car with mostly european and chinese suppliers and parts incl. a german bank = Deutsche Bank with its roots and network in the german car and supplier industry which is huge. Fisker inc was only listed in the US, but a lot has happened in the EU especially the whole production and assembly also the whole supply chain and spare part topics, mostly everything developed in the EU.
You will need to get an understanding what this means once you need a spare part being shipped from overseas incl . freight, customs, all the stuff till it arrives on your front door. Buying from china is easy, but I bet it will be much harder to get specific Fisker parts from Magna austria or one of their suppliers which are not ready to sell 1 mirror glas to the USA incl. import declaration and what not.
You will need a canadian magna warehouse operated by magna with full access to all the magna austria knowledge and supply chain to get bulk orders shipped across the atlantic at the price fixed before with Fisker to make a profit out of such warehouse deal in canada. Otherwise you will struggle big times with overseas orders and suppliers that do not wanna ship and forget about Fisker to look ahead.
