You gave an example of Raag Madhuvanti. It just so happened that earlier, I was listening to a ghazal "Rasme Ulfat ko nibahyen to nibaheyn kaise" (Lata) based on Raag Madhuvanti. That sounds sooo different ! Then I just wanted to follow it, and I was listening to Pt. Har Prasad Chaurasia playing Madhuvanti on bansuri. That recital was absolutely different from all this. It is a way too late start for me. I am not seeing myself singing raagas, tooo old for that. But at least I wanted to know enough to know which raag I was hearing. And then, if I could copy it on flute, that would be "Sone par suhaga" : ) Wishful thinking, I guess..

Could you please explain d difference between Raag Jaunpuri & Asawari. I love your videos. I learnt many of these songs in Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. Now I am old, but my love for Classical music, has not diminished.
There are very few differences between these two ragas. In Ashawari komal nishad isn't used in the aaroh, whether in jaunpuri it is used. But personally... I fail to find this pin-like difference while listening to any one of these ragas!😅 Am not a very mature listener...
