I am one of the biggest Celine Dion fans, and was telling everyone in the UK she was a superb singer before she finally made the charts with the theme from beauty and the beast and since then she has gone from strength to strength this song was amazing just like Whitney's one moment in time and Gloria estefans reach but I would say this is the best of them, I just find it amazing with the voice she has some people say she can't sing Celine Dion is one if the best vocalists of all time
Many ppl think out of vocal trinity, Celine's songs seem easiest to cover, lol. But can you find any cover of this song that give it justice? There are not many covers on this song and they all lack the dynamics, the huge power and the resonance to make it an Olympic song. Celine just makes it look so easy.
Anyone who says her songs are the "easiest" to cover, clearly do not know the scope of her vast repertoire LoL. Just the song It's All Coming Back to Me Now (in the original key), is a marathon that tests any singer's stamina, range and ability to not just sing, but do so with nuance, sensitivity and emotional overtones. And we haven't even touched All By Myself, The Power of Love, To Love You More, etc which all require beautiful tone, power *and* legato.
If anything, Whitney's songs are relatively more straightforward, IMO. I've heard many singers (including amateur singers on The Voice) who cover Whitney's songs and make it pretty darn close to her level, but I can't say the same for those who attempt Celine's biggest songs.
@@tristanhnl don’t forget because you loved me. that song requires a lot of conviction and stamina as well. not to mention the e5 belt followed by a transition into a g5 head voice followed by a sick run in which celine has perfected over the years (lower key but still pretty hard). i havent heard a because you loved me cover who pulled of the climax (e5 - g5 - riffs and runs - a4 long belt)

Well said, also most people who covered her songs are just trying to outdo her in her own songs. Like for example, most covers of her version of all by myself are lack of emotions and powers and when they sang the “anymore” high note, i can tell that they are always like “i have to do better than Celine” but failed eventually. So yup, her songs are not easy to cover. Anyone who said her songs are easy to cover should try to do a cover of I surrender and sang the entire song without coughing or choking.
I can’t agree with you more. Celine’s songs get attempted but no one does them justice. They lack her emotion and unique tone and rasp. They say Whitneys songs are vocal suicide but I have see many great covers to her songs. It’s all just power. I’m not a Mariah fan, but Celine and her songs are not easy to cover. There’s not many covers out there that do their songs justice

Amway Parfum the olympics was lip synced sad to tell. That should not be a surprise. Aside from one small adlib it is same to a recorded version she has released. And also lip synced in a coca cola event earlier same day same track. It was in a slightly higher key...there is ONE performance where she did the ending note similar to that (sustaining the closed syllable) jones beach. It was 10 days after Olympics i think maybe third ever live performance...before she adapted to ending the song as such (which i also love)

How can people say celine kept her voice as good as before and that her technique is better than before? He vocie is way less impressive nowadays and it sounds like a soft marchmallow compared to the power she had before, crystal clear amazing belts.
Indeed, her regiment back then was insanely strict. Now that she has babies and she doesn't feel the need to prove herself anymore, she's kinda calming down. When you hear her talking about vocal care, technique, etc. it's obvious that she's still taking care, but she's cutting herself some slack.

not as good as always, but she can at least hit the notes even if its a struggle. Obviously her voice will change with age. It takes a lot of technique to sing like she does at her age now, it might not sound as good as 20 years ago, doesn't mean she doesn't have technique.
She's the only one singer has an Angelic voice...Everytime when she open her mouth to sing omg..you cannot even see her throat not like other singers out there has a very big mouth to open just to hit the song..
