As an Aussie it was so sad when I heard that we lost Heath Ledger. A great actor he was just starting to hit the heights in Hollywood. Tragic. I wished he could have been around for much longer. RIP Heath; I hope his daughter Matilda is doing ok. ❤
Daniel Day Lewis would have something to say about that. But I guarantee neither would care about being the “most” anything, two just incredible method style actors
I hand Aaron Eckhart mad respect. He keeps getting what seems to be hollow characters and gives them life and background. If you haven't seen him as Hal Sanderson in The Rum Diary you're missing out. Boring to some, not to all. Hey, Eliot Ness could use a revamp! Call this guy up!
He must have been so nice and easy to get along with… Really a good guy and an absolutely incredible actor. Will never forget him and his beautiful performance. I’m looking forward to watching all of his other films. Rest in peace Heath. ❤️
Its very rare to have a movie where all characters excel. Its not just having the best director or the script. Its a perfect sync among the whole team behind the movie.
I loved Heath Ledger since I saw him in Patriot, with Mel Gibson. Was heartbroken when he died. Still haven't seen this Batman movie, bc it was his last. I guess I want to remember him as he was in Patriot. May never be able to watch this Batman movie. Rest in Eternal Peace, Heath Ledger. You are Loved.
Actually The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was his last film. He didn’t get to finish shooting all of the movie just most of it, and so they brought in other actors Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law to finish it off and it works surprisingly well. Anyway Dark Knight wasn’t his last film and it is kind of a shame you haven’t seen it because his performance is so ridiculously good. That said I understand wanting to remember him for his performance in the Patriot - though personally A knights tale was always one of my favs.
Arguably one of, if not THE best scene in the movie, in my opinion. The fact that the jokers plan to turn this saint of a man into something despicable like him with a conversation in a hospital bed, after the most traumatic thing dent has ever gone through. is so amazing. "All it takes is a little.. PUSH."
Heath Ledger's Joker was an 11/10 but Aaron Eckhart's Two Face was still an easy 10/10. The Dark Knight had so many great performances Eckhart gets overshadowed. That Two Face in any of the newer films would be lauded as the best performance of DC in years
That scene is so good too because it’s textbook manipulation from joker. And heaths performance sells its perfectly, he’s conniving as hell in that scene it’s all very subtle. Like when joker tells Harvey to flip the coin to determine his fate but ultimately Joker holds the hammer of the pistol down. So even if Two face landed on the correct side that would mean jokers death, nothing would happen because joker was holding the hammer of the gun. Plus Ive always head canon it that the coin said Joker could live regardless of what Harvey wanted which is the ultimate cruel irony of harvey turning into two face which I think is a nice touch and I’m glad the scene never shows and confirms exactly what happened when joker left that room and HOW he left that room. It’s just left to the imagination and that’s how I always assume that interaction went.
