- Want to learn how to convert a Member's Mark griddle to natural gas? This is the video for you. The Blackstone Natural Gas Conversion Kit doesn't work. Not out of the box. But with a few modifications, we can convert the Member's Mark 4 burner griddle to natural gas.
Great video! Very informative! I can tell you’re ex military? You are very organized and methodical. Good job!!!
Thank you Sir! I do what I can.
Thank you! Been thinking about swapping my Blackstone but didn't want to have to go back to LP, this is exactly what I needed!
No problem. I’m surprised there’s no good video from Blackstone on it. This kit will work on a Blackstone without issue.
@@MoesSmokeStackGrill I've got the Blackstone currently with the NG conversion installed. Wanted to swap to member's mark for the stainless look, cover, and the storage... But I didn't think you could convert the members mark to NG. Your video was a big help, and now I can! Thanks
Ohh now I get it 😂. Yes this solution works perfectly. I cook on it all the time with no issues at all.
Awesome instructions man. FYI this Blackstone kit worked as well on a GR2334401-MM-00 5 burner grill from Sam's Club. Only differences were that I didn't have to worry about the different length nozzles, and had to go to a gas supply store to find a Y split natural gas line to fire up the 5th side burner.
Thank you Sir! Your setup sounds like it would have made a good video! Did you record it by chance? Some people just give up on the conversion without trying to figure it out.
Thanks for the video, Moe! Brian, thanks for posting your comment. I have the same exact grill as you do and was looking for videos on that grill. The gas conversion kit I picked up from sams didn’t come with the orifices so I’ll have to pick those up as well. :(
Please share how it comes out. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the awesome video. I like the detail that you gave it. I also like the hellcat in the background. Good job.
You’re welcome! Thanks for the kind comment. I try to make how-to videos as detailed as possible. Saves us all time.
I just gotta say thank you for your video. You're right. There are no videos out there showing simple conversion like what you did. All those other videos talkin about drill this and that and hope you don't blow the hell up when you turn it on for a test.
I appreciate that. I’m all about simple man, even though I’m not a simple man 😂 . Things don’t need to be so complicated. Sure, drilling is cheaper but we’re talking about fire here. Typically near your house! No thanks!
I used that kit on my weber genesis II E310 gas grill and it worked perfectly. I was looking at a kit online that they wanted $115 for and I used this instead, cool part is there is enough orifices left that I can still convert the griddle and also run that on NG!
It’s a good kit. I’m surprised they don’t advertise that it works for other grills.
I laughed so hard at the vice grip segment!! I have a Camp Chef Griddle, I'm sure this conversion kit will work. 😁 Also wanted to add... There's probably no updates on the original Member's Mark Griddle conversions because they blew up!! 😂🤣😆 Thanks for the video.
Ha ha. Glad you liked it. I had fun recording it. Hopefully this kit works for you.
So I actually think that there might have been a design change. Mine did not have the 2 longer orifices installed (I picked my 4-burner griddle up in-store Labor Day Weekend 2022). Kind of annoying as I had already overpaid for the replacement burners off of ebay (walmart was sold out). If you're going to do this project, remove your existing orifices first to see if they look like the ones in his video. If all 4 are the same size, you don't need to replace the burners. Additionally, rather than buying new orifices, I just drilled out the existing ones and everything is working fine. The way I did it was that I first drilled to 1/16, then drilled again to 5/64 (which is almost exactly 2mm, I didn't have a 2mm in my set). Rather than using a power drill, I just manually twisted the orifices on the drill bit that was already in a drill chuck. This was to avoid accidentally over drilling them (a 7mm socket on a screwdriver is a good tool for this purpose). I'd say that it took me about 90 seconds per orifice per drill bit. Not sure if the initial 1/16 was a necessary step or not, but since I was twisting manually, I figured it would be easier going. Everything is back together and working great.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you got it worked out. I actually gave that griddle away to a nice guy on Facebook 😂. It’s nice but took up too much space on my deck. Happy griddling!
Could you have put a small metal extension on opposite mount side ( not Orfice side) of burner.
Possibly. I was in a rush and just did it that way because it was fast.
Great video, thanks for sharing. I think I saw the exact video you're talking about. LOL. I wonder if this conversion would work on my Char Griller brand grill. I checked their website and they say that they don't make their grills to be converted over to NG. But, it's basically the same set up so I dont see why it wouldnt work??
I’m pretty sure this type of conversion will work with most propane grills. I have a Napoleon natural gas grill and it’s pretty much the same components underneath from the factory.
I have the 8 burner event grill from members mark, wonder if it’ll work. It uses two propane tanks, and for holidays it’s hard to find propane tanks! So I definitely need to do the conversion
I just saw one of those at a baseball game last week. Had two tanks. I’m sure this conversion would work.
A DRILL BIT #56 to #51 TO DRILL A LITTLE LARGER HOLE IS A MUCH CHEAPER FIX
It’s dependent upon the gas pressure in your area, burner btu rating and also elevation! Start with the the largest number and try it to see what your flame 🔥 looks like. The higher the number the smaller the drill-bit is.
Drill where exactly? The issue was the orifices not being long enough in the kit.
@@MoesSmokeStackGrill YOU DRILL THE ORIGINAL ORIFICE, NO NEED TO BUY A NATURAL GAS CONVERSION KIT!
So what do you do about the liquid propane regulator that’s on the hose that comes with the griddle? Because I’m pretty sure that’s not used with natural gas. Conversion kit is still needed. Thanks for your input and for watching.
@@MoesSmokeStackGrill You’re exactly right!
You still need the quick disconnect hose!
Yeah, could have just drilled the longer orifice to the bigger size and used them. Still needed the kit for the hose and stuff though. Cool how you came up with another way to make it work! I'm going to try and use that conversion kit on my weber grill.
funny and entertaining! thx bro I just need the orifice part.. where to get them? home dpot?
Glad it was a good watch. Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware. Or any bbq store really.
Thank you for this video. Do you know if this conversion kit would work with a Member's Mark Pro Series 5 burner gas griddle? I just ordered one of those today from Sam's Club and I'm rethinking the purchase if it's unable to be converted or if it can, if there's anything I'd need to purchase that isn't in the Blackstone conversion kit. Thank you in advance!
There’s an easier way to fix the problems with the kit. All you have to do is drill out the orifice holes to 2mm. Then they can push enough NG through to work. This kit should work on the 5 burner MM. You’ll just need to use the side burner orifices that come in the kit as well.
Video good beautiful my friend 👍🌹
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Question do you need a natural gas regulator?
No Sir. My Napoleon grill and Member’s Mark griddle, do not have regulators at all. That’s for propane from what I understand.
Question…even if manufacturer says there’s no conversion kit…can you still convert it to natural gas?
Yes you can but you’re doing so at your own risk. My griddle is a Member’s Mark but I used the Blackstone kit and some Walmart parts 😂. It worked but it is my risk to accept.
@@MoesSmokeStackGrill yeah I’m in the process of converting the SS members mark 5 burner griddle $299 with the Blackstone kit
How did it turn out?
@@MoesSmokeStackGrill i’ll let ya know tomorrow, I can’t wait…
Totally worth it IMO
I just drilled the long fitting to Natty gas size.
More than one way to solve a problem. I sold that thing long ago, moved on.
You could have drilled lp office to 2mm for ng
Could have! More than one way to skin a cat!
Hey, Moe! =)
What’s up man? How are you?
@@MoesSmokeStackGrill Stressing out HARD, man. This Gordon Ramsay video I'm filming now has me pulling my hair out, because everything's been going wrong AGAIN.
Yesterday Thunderjack was all like, "Yo! I never even heard of half these ingredients, bro!"
And I'm like, "Need I remind you that we're taking on the #1 chef in the entire freakin' WORLD, dude? We gotta bring our A game!"
Plus, I am a school teacher in real life, and this is naturally a super busy time of the year for me, because I will soon have to finish making report cards and such. Fitting it all in has been a nightmare.
Hard work will pay off. Can’t wait for the video man!
@@MoesSmokeStackGrill Thank you so much, Moe!!!
