    The Omnivore griddle top uses a newer kit 5395 with 1.55mm orifices. The older legacy griddle top uses the older kit 5249 with 2.0mm orifices. This is not a well known fact and many of the older kits are out there being sold and installed into new Omnivore versions.

      Right! It's really pretty easy to do. And I'm loving not having to worry about running out of propane. One note I found out about after I made this video. The kit I used doesn't work with their newer pro series griddles. Have an awesome weekend!👍✌️

      Thanks for the reply, I’m waiting for my thread lock and griddle seasoning to arrive via Amazon and then I’ll be following your video and knock it out! Have a great weekend!

    Thanks Kevin! I wish I watched this before I ordered the conversion kit so I would know to get the adapter, thread tape, and thread sealer. Now I get to wait another few days

      @@maxmarch Thanks for checking this out! You should be able to get it at a hardware store. I think I got mine at ACE hardware.

    That’s pretty neat Kevin. Hate when you run out of propane when you are almost done cooking. Great job on the video. I do agree that the kit should come with everything that you need. Have an awesome day my brother and take care.

      Thanks, Robert! Boy, you got that right! It's always when it's almost done. The natural gas seems to heat up quicker, and so far, I'm loving it. The kit should absolutely have everything. I hate thinking I can just hook something up, only to find out I need more parts/items. I hope you have an awesome weekend, brother!👍✌️

    I’ve been thinking of doing this with my round Blackstone aka the Cuisinart 360. Pretty cool and thank you for showing us! No more trips to the store for gas but Brad and Patrick will still need you to go for beer :)

    Thanks, Kev. I'm in the market for a griddle but I'm having a hard time finding one that can be converted to natural gas without having to drill holes in the orifices. Drilling into the orifices negates the warranty. So, it looks like Blackstone will be the recipient of my hard-earned money. Thank you for sharing.

      You're welcome! It could be perfect timing if you have a Walmart nearby? They seem to put them on-sale in the fall! I'm already seeing some going on-sale for the holiday, too. I've had mine over 4 years now and still use it all the time. I hope you find one at a good price! Have an awesome day!👍✌️

    I’ve seen these conversion kits before Kevin and actually thought about 😢what it would be like to change that out if a person had natural gas. We are a total electric house with the exception of our fireplace and cook stove top, which is propane driven. I’ve wanted to see about running another line back to the backyard, but it’s too far in my opinion for the propane tank that we have. The other option is to get another propane tank, I guess. Or just keep buying those 20 pounders! Take care brother. Hope you’re having a great week.

    • @Mankitchenrecipes
      @Mankitchenrecipes  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks, Brian! Could you split the line to the stove or fireplace and run it outside?🤔 The propane actually lasts quite a while but always seems to run out when you need ot most!!! So far, it seems like the natural gas heats up faster??? Time will tell. Have an awesome weekend, brother!✌️👍🍻

      @@Mankitchenrecipes I’ve thought about getting a plumber out here to see. I think it’s silly to get another tank. My tank though is in front side of my house and my griddles are at the back side of back yard. Maybe 75 yards away?? 😵‍💫 Now the fire place is on back side of house and of course closer to my patio but someone would have to drill through the brick of the house. 🤷🏽

    I don’t understand why the outlets need to be changed - nothing changes from the conversion kit pieces to the ones already installed on the blackstone. The “propane” outlet is .91 and the natural gas outlet are all larger holes
    Also I broke the nuts while removing so I’m already pretty sour about it

    • @Mankitchenrecipes
      @Mankitchenrecipes  2 дня назад

      Thanks for checking this out, and I'm sorry you're having difficulties. There are several reasons you can't run natural gas in propane grills and vice versa. Pressures and temperatures, and you could end up ruining your grill. A quick Google search can explain it better. I hope you succeed with your conversion.

    Forgive my ignorance, what happens if you just hook it up to a natural gas line?

    • @Mankitchenrecipes
      @Mankitchenrecipes  5 месяцев назад

      Please don't. First, it probably won't work, and second, it could be dangerous or cause an explosion??? The orifice for natural gas is larger than propane and just doesn't work. They may sell just the orifices, but I'm not sure. The kit has what you need if you want to use natural gas. Thanks for checking this out, and I hope you have a great day!👍✌️

      Fuel / air mixture will be wrong. All fuel types have different orifice sizes that work best for fuel type.

    So my griddle came assembled. I wish you would've shown exactly how to take the griddle and everything off to gain access to the hoses that need to be changed, as I'm not naturally handy. Seems like I almost have to disassemble the whole griddle in order to get to the screws to remove the griddle. I can't find a video that shows everything, step by step from the beginning, a sort of for-dummies type of video showing every single step. 😢

    • @Mankitchenrecipes
      @Mankitchenrecipes  3 месяца назад

      @antonioaguilera8184 which griddle do you have? The Blackstone Griddle just sits on top. All you have to do is slide it back about a 1/4 inch, and it should lift off very easily. Although my 36 inch is a bit heavy. If it's too heavy for you, get help. The video shows the rest. Thanks for checking this out and I hope you're having an awesome weekend!👍✌️

      If your lid is attached, just unscrew it from the griddle. There's really not much to it.
