- In this video I showcase both of my Toyota Tacoma TRD Pros... one is a 2017 in Cement Gray and the other is a brand new 2019 in Voodoo Blue. Both are amazing in their own right... which is making it tough to choose which one stays.
Shoutout to Lake Toyota of Devils Lake, ND. They got me a great deal on this Taco and provided excellent service and communication along the way. When you’re looking for your next Toyota, don’t count them out. They were flexible with me... and I’m sure they’d be with anyone. =]

I forgot you have the icon on the silver one but that's only worth it if you plan on going off road, if you don't then you may as well offload it and make some good money and keep the stock one

2inches. I love this voodoo blue... it’s stunning in person but I’m leaning toward cement simply due to the mods.
That Lunar Rock Tundra gonna fit in the driveway?? Seems like those Tacoma’s are a perfect fit not blocking the side walk. I vote the voodoo blue. I personally like the stock look 👍

What rails do you have on the Cement Taco? I REALLY like them! I’ve been looking at something very similar for my Tundra.
These are RSG sliders, angled with grip & kickout. Love these! Great company too!
Both are awesome. But I wouod keep the cement. Voodoo is awesome but I’d get tired of it after a while. I’m sure you could sell either one in a heartbeat. Hmm decisions decisions lol. Good luck

You know which one I like. I’m partial to Cement. But the Voodoo does look nice and not too many Off-roads/ SR5’s in Voodoo as there are in Cement

Admittedly, seeing them side by side, the Voodoo Blue makes Cement look pretty plain and tame... However, in my humble opinion, I think that bright blue would get old after a while, well the Cement will always be in style as that color is timeless. For me the choice would still be Cement Gray, especially with the icon/rock slider/tire/wheel combo. I think you can command a better premium selling the Voodoo Blue as well, as it’s brand new. Just my 2 cents 🍻
All great points -I completely agree. There really isn’t anything else I’d ever want to do to a Tacoma that hasn’t already been accomplished on this 2017. It’ll be bittersweet saying farewell to the voodoo blue... especially after having had lusted over it for so long prior to placing my deposit. =\
@@UntamedMotors Either way you get to keep a rock solid and beautiful rig, so you really can’t make a bad or wrong decision with the sale of either. Can’t wait to see the replacement for the LC ✌🏼
Looks great. Sell the voo doo blue. Cement will be more of a more enjoyable color longer. Also, how about a driving video and follow up on those LEDs you Installed on your cement.
The Voodoo Blue has a very capable suspension already so while it might be an upgrade, I personally don't think it would be worth it. Tires are a no-brainer, I would either get new boots for the '19 or do a swap. (new boots if it was mine) I rag on my Tacoma, but I do love it really, just nagging on the weak paint and some other minor grips, but saying that I plan on shooting a video tomorrow of my beast!

How does the ride compare between the two , Icon vs Fox suspension?
I personally love the Fox suspension that comes on the Pros... BUT I've been BLOWN AWAY by the Icon system on the cement. It's literally like riding on a cloud. Very similar feel as my old 2019 Raptor tbh.

Cement is set up nice already. Low mileage. Hard choice in which one to keep. Knowing you I think you will keep the 2019 since it’s your newest one.

I agree 100%... Cement will age better for sure. I normally gravitate to white TRD Pros... White on black vehicles are glorious tho imo. So clean. I'll checkout your vids. Thanks for the comment!

Voodoo Blue never grows old. The Nardo Gray was cool for a moment but too drab.

The tacoma trd pro is just perfectly designed. I mean it’s just the sexiest looking truck I’ve ever seen. How everything looks so mean and sleek is amazing. The trd pro 4runner and tacoma are just the sexiest vehicles to my eyes. I would keep the voodoo blue but take the tires and sliders off the cement and put it on the voodoo blue. Those predator steps look cool but are horrible for off roading and kills any ground clearance you may have.
Though it may be because I’ve evolved into an Uber Toyota fanboy over the years... I completely agree. I love the body lines and road presence of the Tacoma and 4Runner TRD Pros. It’s definitely a huge bonus when you combine that with their amazing reliability! =]
Both beautiful, both have features the other hasn't tough decision. Any differences you find in driving comfort or performance ? If not, stay with the 17 it has a great suspension and stance.......Mark the 19 price up and offer it to those high prices slacker dealers in Western Wa. 😉👍

I'd keep the voodoo blue since it's a more unique color, and swap the side steps and tires on the cement gray into it. I foresee a Tundra TRD Pro in Lunar Rock or a 2021 Land Cruiser Heritage in a different color since black isn't your favorite color and third row seats. Tundra more likely but I don't see Mrs. Untamed pleased with her mom mobile gone lol. At least you have two truck beds to pick from to sleep in if you get kicked out of the house 🤣

@@UntamedMotors financially the Tundra is probably the logical choice. You probably didn't lose much on the LC if at all. The money freed from that allows you much more freedom to buy more than one car or two. Plus it has been obvious you've been missing the Tundra haha. I feel it needs crawl control and rear locker to be a true TRD Pro and it could use a nicer more distinctive key fob. But it could end up being the last of the V8 trucks made by Toyota. A supercharger in that thing would make it really fun to drive.
@@navydoc yeah I’ve missed the tundra since trading it. Does that mean I didn’t love the LC? No... the LC (as you know very well) is a super special vehicle. Just missed having my full size truck with a huuuge backseat and gnarly v8 rumble. =] made a few thousand on the LC.
@@UntamedMotors very nice! I was tempted to trade mine in but I spent $10k on upgrades so I'll keep it. One of my local dealer sold a LC Heritage with a $10k markup. Crazy. Considered trading it in for a TRX but I had such a horrible experience with the Ford Raptor and RAM reliability isn't the greatest especially compared to the reliability of a Land Cruiser. I'll probably put a Harrop's supercharger on the LC next.
@@navydoc damn, a SC would be awesome on the LC... the TRX is tempting but my days of spending 75K+ on vehicles is on pause for a bit. Much more predictability in buying $40-60K realm imo. Though if I had a shot at a Launch Edition TRX... I’d strongly consider it lol. I’m done with Raptors too...

I love these pros though. The size is the only concern to me. I had a 2016 and it’s so tight . In regards to color I like the blue, but it’s a bit juvenile to me.
That’s a good way to put it. It just screams for attention that’s for sure... the size in the Taco barely works for our family. After seeing all the transitions -you would have the most educated guess on what’s next. =] but I won’t say for sure. The Mrs. is stoked for what’s coming.

Maybe your right on the Tacoma but for the FJ the Voodoo Blue just works.
Swap the cement stuff that you want on to the blue one and keep it, sell the cement one. New is always better than used.
That was super tempting but since the Voodoo was brand new it was super easy to sell... I had local Toyota dealers fighting to buy it. Lol

You you got rid of the LC? Wow!!! I would keep the 2019, its newer and you can come out even with the cement. I prefer the small dealers over the big city boys, they treat you much better. What was the recall? Didn't catch that

Keep the cement. That color is bad ass and the set up is top tier. Voodoo blue is bad ass but I like cement. I guess it’s just personal taste.

It's curious how each new vehicle migrates from the being the best thing since sliced bread to sitting in the back seat, all in the blink of barely a month. Disappointing to see the Land Cruiser go as the value of the Land Cruiser is longevity and no surprise another impulse buy has now taken it's place, what a missed opportunity to fully appreciate Toyota's fantastic apex vehicle. I came here for the candid LC content, enjoyed the FJs too, thanks for what LC content was posted. However, I'm not here for unbridled consumerism. Kudos to having the ability fund this wastefulness and a wife to tolerate it. All the best.

That is a solid, educated guess. The voodoo is sold... and currently no plans to sell the cement. It’s residual value will remain stagnant for the next 30-40K miles.

I am a fan of the moves he recently has made. For a while it was getting ridiculous i must admit. He literally bought a $75k Ram 2500 diesel truck to tow the mustang to WA. Lol. ALSO glad he got the Raptor thing out of his system. V6 Full size trucks should be illegal

Unload the Voodoo blue. You will get a lot of $ for it, but its just too flashy. Childish in certain respects. After a few months of walking out to it everyday, you'll pry get sick of the bright Smurf blue. The Cement is the best specialty Pro color and it's already loaded out to the end game with all the off road goodies. Also, TSS is negative. Just more stuff to break and cost $. I'm sure you are perfectly capable of driving and not crashing into things all by yourself and don't really need TSS. Do the right thing here man

Sell the Voodoo Blue and the Cement Tacoma and get a white LC Heritage edition. Then sell both of those and get a Ram TRX and the new Bronco.

Take all those icon suspension parts off the cement tacoma before you sell it and put them on the blue tacoma!
I really considered it... just not sure if it’s be worth the headache tbh. Not to mention I’m sure a full suspension swap would cost a pretty penny.
I would say 1500-2000 because both trucks would need an alignment after the swap
Lol, gotta be the TRX. Easily the sickest truck on the market now. Ford better get it together becuase that TRX is only $14k or so more than the Raptor for a MUCH BETTER quality truck. Yes I said it, the TRX is a much better quality truck for 14k more which isn't asking much to someone considering a $70-80k vehicle. The Raptor needs an interior upgrade and more importantly a V8 to compete at this point.

I’m 36 years old and own a cement gray Tacoma. I saw the voodoo blue at the dealership and the 16 year old inside of me would of said “hell yeah!” But the 36 year old dad in me chose the cement gray. I don’t regret it at all. Voodoo blue just screams attention and look at me and the older you get lets be honest...the less you need of that especially with kids 😂 Besides the Lunar Tundra would look ideal next to your gray Tacoma 😏
