    You can see it in his eyes that he was tired. The phone calls and death threats had accumulated and taken it's toll at this point. They kept calling and telling him that he wasn't going to leave Memphis alive. He wasn't going to make this speech as he wasn't feeling well. We're all fortunate that he did. Here's a man who walked into a hurricane gladly for the sake of not just the black race, but for the sake of all man kind. God rest his soul.

And they credited it to all the stress from 13 years of fighting for civil rights.. The man sacrificed everything for the better of mankind. His legacy must not only be remembered. But carried through by us all in our daily lives.

      Yes. This was his greatest speech. He was a great man of Integrity and honor. But before anything he was a Christian man of Christ. His life was to fight segregation and serve Jesus With all his will. He said, "he seen the promise land". That's referring to the old testament. That the Lord gave Moses His tribulation to free the Israelite slaves and he was not going to be able to see that happen. Same thing with Martin Luther King. The Lord spoke to him And told him he was going die soon. This speech touches my heart. Because it's a religious speech that his time is up on earth. May God rest his soul.

      @@silverwolfmonastery -Ain't it the truth. Makes you wonder why blacks can't seem to get it together. I think it's because blacks have developed a culture of teenage promiscuity. Black girls are supposed to make a guy wait and work for it. Instead they give it up to the first street thug that calls them out. They get pregnant by these immature vagabonds and the three of them get screwed (excuse the pun). She gets no support from him. She gets railroaded into a low paying job. And the child grows up without any solid parent supervision or guidance.
      And here we are today.

    • @silverwolfmonastery
      @silverwolfmonastery 4 года назад +7

      @@truth2972 I would say that poverty and hopelessness are is the primary reason "blacks can't seem to get it together". Look a people of all races in poverty, the challenges of poverty prevent people from moving forward. I come from a stable middle class home. I have no idea how I would have made it if I had to deal with the challenges of poverty and the hopelessness that poverty causes. The myth of pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps are mostly crap. No one gets anywhere without love and support.

    I don't care if your religious or not, you really need to understand the story of Moses on the mountaintop to understand how unbelievably prophetic this was. As the story goes, Moses, after a long decades long journey, had the Israelites stop at the river. Moses went up on the mountaintop to see the Promise Land of Israel for he first time. God told Moses that he would not be allowed to enter the Promise land, because he had destroyed the ten commandments. So, Moses went down, gave a speech to the Israelites, and returned to the mountaintop, where he died, as the Israelites entered into their promise land.

    He had been cooped up in his motel room all day. Didn’t feel like leaving. Had already put on his pajamas and gotten into bed when some of his staff called him and said people were there hoping he’d show up and convinced him to get out of bed and come down in the pouring rain. And he was only going to make a few quick remarks but then ended up giving this prophetic, goosebump-inducing speech. He was a very depressed and stressed man towards the end of his life and I believe he did know his time was close because I believe he was exhausted and somewhere deep down he almost wished he could finally stop fighting and have peace. He was 39 when he was murdered and his autopsy revealed he had the heart of a 60-year-old. All that stress from leading a 13-year-long struggle for civil rights. You can see it in his face here. A great man who was beginning to burn out at far too young an age.

      Anyone one of us can try to emulate, to be like him. To have the same type of strong moral conviction and deep understanding of humanity that he did. He was a man that had the courage to fight against the injustice of race and class. He saw them as two sides of the same coin. He fought for so much and was only scratching the service of the problems we were facing as a nation.

    This is par excellence example of Universal Human values.These powerful words will echo in eternity,as a real testimony of a non-violent fight for human rights,which was the only way The Great Martin Luther King strove...Unfortunately this is still a subject of debates even now,which is devastating-look whats happening on the streets...Whenever i feel that violence just might be an answer for any problem that occurs to us,i remember this SAINT.Martin although predicted his fatal fate and knew his days were numbered,never gave up on hope,never pointed a finger to lynch anyone,or asked for bloody retribution.Contrary,his powerful voice was even more determine,almost out of this World...I am sure that his words will defeat anything,that his preach will crumble any wall that“Protects us ”from each other in this dark and gloomy World.Maybe non of us will see that glorious day when well feel true freedom and togetherness,but be sure future generations will...Hope shall prevail !!!! Martin has become,not just a heritage for USA or Afro-Americans,hes a Lighthouse of Humanity for each one of us.

    It's like he knew impending death was upon him. Very strange. This speech reveals so much yet leaves so much mystery as to what happened to him and what he suspected would. I feel sorry for him that he gave so much of himself over to his cause and lost himself in it. I don't think he was entirely comfortable yet it was too late for him to retreat and just be a Dad , husband and average guy. You could see in his eyes in many interviews that he looked a bit like a deer in the headlights and his nerves were on edge. Your heart really goes out to him when he was rallied on to continue yet had some reluctance to be the mascot for it all. It was just too much for one man to carry. Much like Jesus carrying the burden and then cross to his death. I find myself mesmerized by him whenever I see a documentary on his life. He was compelling and magnetic. I just feel his sadness and want to give him a hug. He makes me cry.

    I can tell that this man knew he was going to die. Anyone with a true relationship with God can feel it through his words and after looking into his eyes. I can tell that he had spent time with the Lord and he was shown a vision. He was tired...yes he sure was. But you tell that he was going to fight with his dying breath for ALL people to live together as one people. He must have been allowed to see it before he was taken away. Did it not come to pass...every word he spoke came to pass. No one can say it was a coincidence. God got all the glory out of his life and the situation that followed. I would say that I would be glad if he had lived to see it but it is obvious he did. If he had not....he would not have spoken as he did. This is an old speech....yet my spirit can discern so much from so little. Thank God for him and thank God for God!!!
