As a 11th grade high school student, I was completely mesmerized by Dr. King speaking, what he was saying, and how he was making us react to his every word. The museum and a trip to Memphis is recommended. The day after I visited, I received a call with a diagnosis of cancer. I listen to this excerpt of the speech often to get me through the hard times. He left my generation a blueprint (I was born in 1970) and somewhere along the line we got relaxed, so holy, selfish, and we are now saying inwardly we failed but outwardly saying pridefully “what’s happening with our children our communities”.. When we come together starting in the pulpit in our homes and in our communities, change is inevitable. I should be concern about my neighbors our seniors our youth. I am not to proud to say at 52 i have much to learn become educated about and learn. I have been enlightened by this speech.

Yes he did. In one of his speeches where he was talking about loving your enemies, he said Jesus wasn’t playing when he gave that command. MLK wasn’t playing when he spoke either. God spoke through him. He could bring down the thunder and the rain when he spoke.

Things are so divided Right now which some will argue is terrible. And as awful as it is there’s no way that genuine change can happen without turmoil and unrest. The fact that America is so divided right now has left room for everyone to see where the true problems lie with our society and our government and how our country has been running for many years without any changes for the better of our people. Real changes coming slowly out of all of this.

I have listened to this many times but still have to set when I hear it cause I get so moved I can't stand up. As a child when I heard the news it meant nothing to me. Now perhaps it was my biggest regret in life. I intend till the end that it will mean to do right even in face of hate as I refuse to go down as I will stand up to the forces of hate now and you know who they are.

That speech was unreal he seemed to know what his destiny would be, so sad that this great & wonderful human being was taken from us in such a horrific manner

MLK speech was very touching and preached to the people that his time was up.This was so heart breaking to see him leave in such a tragic way.If you listen to his final speech he said this country is sick and burning up.The madness is still here and no learning from the sacrifice he made for all of us.

So many of us went to sleep after this great man passed. We are back where we started; so many have given up. Our enemies know this all too well. Many of us are still afraid of them.
We went to sleep on so many levels we have to write a book to explain how we failed through ignorance and out right fear to learn where Our strength in a world of economic and moral failures so we just gave up thinking this situation is to big

He left my generation a blueprint (I was born in 1970) and somewhere along the line we got relaxed, so holy, selfish, and we are now saying inwardly we failed but outwardly saying pridefully “what’s happening with our children our communities”.. When we come together starting in the pulpit in our homes and in our communities, change is inevitable. I should be concern about my neighbors our seniors our youth. I am not to proud to say at 52 i have much to learn become educated about and learn. I have been enlightened by this speech.

Things are so divided Right now which some will argue is terrible. And as awful as it is there’s no way that genuine change can happen without turmoil and unrest. The fact that America is so divided right now has left room for everyone to see where the true problems lie with our society and our government and how our country has been running for many years without any changes for the better of our people. BELIEVE IT, GOD is ALWAYS IN CONTROL.
I have listened to this many times but still have to set when I hear it cause I get so moved I can't stand up. As a child when I heard the news it meant nothing to me. Now perhaps it was my biggest regret in life. I intend till the end that it will mean to do right even in face of hate as I refuse to go down as I will stand up to the forces of hate now and you know who they are.
Freedom can be achieved without violent
